I needed to know how to disassemble the alternator. Just one more step and you could have shown us.
I had to use a dremel tool and slice a straight cut across the philips after I stripped it. I then was able to use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the stripped philips.
When the 300 was introduced I was in love. I finally rented one on a trip to Houston and for me it was difficult to see out of. Still I love the look :)

you use a sewing needle hold brushes down through the hole
it is carbon brush; not magnet.
No it is not a voltage regulator. The auto has the voltage regulator in the main computer. Magnets? Well you seem to have figured that one out.
