  • Welcome to Snowman's Favourites, an educational guide video series dedicated to showing you my favourite builds, crafted by yours truly, for Battle Brothers and it's plethora of Submods.
    I hope you enjoy these builds as they enhance your own gameplay, just as they have enhanced mine. (also to help tackle harder gameplay, such as legendary difficulty)
    I love theory crafting and having those crafts come to life (hopefully with some success).
    However, if any build was not made by me personally, I'll reference the person who initially gave me the idea, in the video.

      Choke is definitely not great, so I agree with duelist fencing (or even daggers) as a better choice :)

    When I played the assassin start my main guy (the assassin) had 3 stars in melee attack, 3 stars in initiative, 2 stars HP and 2 stars range def, so even though I wanted him to be a dagger build, around lvl 11 I noticed he had gone over 200 init, and decided to switch him to this build. I spent a big part of my campaign slowly gathering stuff to get the oblivion potion to get back the skill point from the dagger build (which made me hunt stullwurm, that i only managed to fight by fighting with a few brother that could resist the RNG of these 6 attack 200 damage each monsters). Now I'm on day 300, he is lvl 22 with 256 init, 141 HP and 162-188 dmg per hit (with berserck, battle flow, double strick and killing frienzy for a potential of 1500 dmg a turn, with perfect fit that actually make the build almost fatigue neutral (only 5 fatigue/hit), and with 256 init freedom of movement almost always is at max, meaning he only take 8% HP damage).

    I’m finding that this isn’t as MAD as you’re presenting. I am running two of these lads right out the gate in a seer playthrough and they’re routinely my predominantly untouched frontliners, just using Alert and Dodge.
    Hp, Init, and Melee Skill, into a nimble build, using the Southern armor bases (Robe, Robe, Padded Surcoat, Tabard, Cloak, Hyena) has both of mine in the mid 40s by level 8.

      Sounds like you're having fun with the build :)
      The unarmed bros aren't completely broken ofc, there is a balance to this game.
      They are, however, a fun and effective build that does strong damage to practically all enemies without worrying about durability.
      Keep it up and glad to hear those 2 are keeping your enemies at bay!

      The brawler is the best because of the free +25% bonus damage.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +3

      Berserker has been slowly nerfed overtime (specifically for the unarmed build) but it is usually the epitome of unarmed combat. (I agree with the recommendation ☺️)
      I definitely still have lots of fun with the occasional brawler turned MMA champion in my runs haha

    Only time i used an unarmed setup was with the peasant militia, one of the starting Guys was a brawler and I decided to use him as a meatshield and for shits and giggles built him with the unarmed perks, and just levelled HP, Initiative and Melee Attack (And now and then Melee Def and Fatigue, if rolls permitted)
    ironically enough, he did not just survive the longest of the starting dudes, together with the minstrel i actually rerolled for the entire time to have a decent banner, he was actually quite the menace
    But i literally lucked into that one and never managed to get another one going, outside of Berserker ones, but for me they dont really count

    One of my favourite builds. Thanks for making that video! Gonna definitely try some the suggestions you made about making it even better.
    I don't agree about choke being useless though. It's perfect for taking down heavily armoured opponents in early-mid game especially when you pair your brawler with a dagger bro. It gives the dagger 100% chance to hit with puncture from turn one. Works great for taking down bandit leaders, heavily armoured nomads and hedge knights before the rest of your bros get the abilities/equipment to deal with heavy armour. Dagger tank+ fist bro can carry your company through a lot of tough midgame fights. Definitely worth a try!

      @@IrishWarrior00 Right you are, dear Sir.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +1

      Yes as @Fisher has said, choke is the puncture, and grapple is the one that helps dagger bros. (and stops enemies from moving iirc)
      Didn't mention grapple in this build but you can run it as a 'combo' for dagger builds. (as unarmed bros have a free offhand)
      Grapple can be used on any bro (with an offhand free) that gets it, so it's not 'unarmed exclusive' and imo it's not a necessary perk for an unarmed build. :)

    For MA, maybe, but I tend to disagree with MD.i think HP and init are both more important. Basically every level up for me is init, hp, and MA unless one of those is a min roll with a max roll in like MD. Init is damage, MD, RD and init all at the same time because of dodge, and being numble every point of HP is more than twice as effective, plus adding a bunch of damage on top, especially if you have muscularity. You certainly can make a light on his feet martial artist type but I preger the ground pounding hulk feel. All in on hp and damage to smash their face in before thwy know what hit them. This is especially effwctive for a berserker who gets the nudist perk.

      I agree, & iirc, PTR 'did away'/nerfed the unarmed combat sadly so unarmed will stay a mostly "legends" build.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem

      25 MD is the recommended base stat 'before' the bonuses of dodge, more is always better but I like to have a 'base-line' to say "go up from here"
      (you'll expect to see about +15 to +20ish from having good dodge so 25 is a good start)
