    Great build guide! I just started Legends today and I'm going to use this build on my Crusader start! Please do more build guides, as I'm quite lost in Legends, e.g. I did not realise MoB + Sword Mastery + Rebound makes for a fatigue neutral build and that's the kind of insight new players need. Thank you for this!

      Am I being silly because I can't seem to start a Crusader play through and get the Mind over Body as an option for the starter brother. I've tried many seeds but in none of them do I get the option for MoB. Please help

    Hello good sir.
    I agree with your take on aoe sword flexibility being way better than greataxe's aoe potential.
    Back in the day, i used to pop greatswords all around... until i noticed greathammers!
    The damage is comparable, you lose the ability to hit in a line, but gain the armor multiplier of 225%.
    Each aoe strips armor so fast it's not even funny. And blunt injuries are by far the best in the game (broken arm/leg, concussion) pretty much neutralizing one opponent AND indirectly making you tankier! An enemy with -25% MA (either elbow, hand, shoulder, head) is basically a 25% MD boost on your end.
    Give it a go, you may fall in love as well. ^_~

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +1

      Glad to hear it, the AOE sword flexibility is definitely more applicable than 2h axes.
      I appreciate the suggestion to 2h hammer swings, however, the loss of line is a little rough and the knockback can be devastating in orc fights (adding extra free charges isn't good) also knock back screws over your allies trying to 'gang' on enemies.
      TLDR: Still think swords are peak flexibility and power, hammers and axes are situational. (but 2h hammers are 100% meta for the single hit)

    I have foolishly been skipping on perfectly good bros because they have low stamina and high resolve, not even checking to see if they had mind over body... Well, time to wipe and start over again! Gonna try legend difficulty this time.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +1

      Good luck on the legend difficulty :)
      Resolve bro's can surprise you and I hope you get to enjoy this build in your own game!

      Hey, it's not wrong not to try different ideas and build strategies but as you said, graduating from ignorance can make you feel foolish
      But I'm sure that a rugged mercenary captain could have some strong and subjective views on many things, especially who he/she thinks is worth it so just chalk it up to roleplay! xD

      Nice! Glad to hear it's worked for you as well. It's definitely a good build for a good weapon.
      2h swords are very reliable :)

    You choose nimble over brawny/bf because of dynamic perks or because it works better with this build? I understand brawny/bf needs a good fat pool, but nimble needs good hp. I always liked nimble, but I only choose it for light combat dps who needs fat (like duelists, qtal daggers, etc...) and archers, not for big donkey frontliners
    I do have a quite decent brother who could and will take this build, but he has nimble, brawny and bf to choose. Suggestions?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem

      I chose nimble for the bros, at the time, as that's all they had.
      Brawny and Battleforged are usually the 'meta' and are also good with this build.
      (and yes, nimble is better paired with higher fat. and init. builds and this build is more of a 'battleforged' build)

    Poor Thora unfortunately won't be able to use swing during nighttime. Can you even use overhead strike with 0 vision or do you have to switch helmets?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +2

      I think her vision went down to 1, which was enough to keep her going.
      As long as you have 1 vision at night, you can hit swings and splits because you only need to target the tile infront of you :)

      @@TheIndomitableSnowman Ah, I guess 1 is the minimum then. Kinda hilarious and unfortunate to get a missing eye on a nightblind brother. Still better than most other permanents though

    when you are doing a build but your bro isn't high level yet or you don't have all the equipment yet, should you give him normal gear and play it like a weak bro ?

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem

      Yes that's the way I normally play.
      I build for endgame and gear with what I have at the moment.
      Limited money and stats demands you to be resourceful up until mid/late game.

  • @muatring

    How does 2h hammers compare with swords? They can also AoE, deal way more armor and ignore dmg.

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +3

      2h hammers are the 'meta' so to speak for single target damage up till late game as armour is a determining factor of harder fights. (technically the 'best' weapons in the game)
      However, hammers are not as flexible as swords with AOE choices and with their damage to non-armoured targets.
      2h hammers have better armour damage (200% vs 100% of swords) (and slightly better armour pierce 50% vs 25%) but swords are better for general hp damage and have higher average damage in general (more consistant & accurate) and this works better against a larger variety of enemies.
      Imo, hammers are great for high amounts of armour, swords are better for everything else & their AOE choices. (the knock-back from hammer AOE is annoying and harder to co-ordinate than swords 2x AOE choices)

    • @PatrickMartinez1
      @PatrickMartinez1 Před rokem

      There's that one legend mod addon that changes the way the masteries work, where the polearm perk gives you a 5ap attack for all two-range two-handed weapons. The polearm hammer 5ap plus the one handed 4ap hammer is a disgusting armor-melting combo.

    • @tominieminen66
      @tominieminen66 Před rokem

      @@PatrickMartinez1 2 reach 2h paired with another 2h with quick hands is disgusting enough no matter what you do with it, no wonder they block it in PTR! xD
      Edit: I was not fully paying attention and thought you were talking about a different build :P

  • @tominieminen66
    @tominieminen66 Před rokem +1

    Why is the shield damage listed as a con?
    Sure, you should not plan to rely on it but it's still nice to have it in very rare and specific situations
    It's like saying that two kidneys is a con (jk)

    • @TheIndomitableSnowman
      @TheIndomitableSnowman  Před rokem +1

      It's a con because you can't rely on it.
      But yes in super rare circumstances I've benefited from the shield damage of a 2h sword. :)
