I'm happy that the last course was actually a well made level.
to be honest, they were all incredibly well made, at least for Mario Maker levels, and definitely up there in difficulty.
They all were.
@@LaPingvino Yea, they were not bad too but the invitational levels from the first game were pretty bad in my opinion.
I just wish more people put effort into making playable/fun levels that would genuinely be seen in a Mario game rather than auto and troll levels
@@chrisbarrera7202 Genuine Mario levels are hard to make, very hard, they are a craft. Garbage auto, troll, puzzle, etc levels are much easier to make.
Not even professional developers can design platforming levels as good as Mario levels are, just look at all the mediocre third-party 2D platformers out there since the NES days.

Theres this tournament going on June 15th at 1pm on Twitch called "Get peach or die trying" which gets even more intense than this and with much more high caliber players. You can find it on Theincrediblepaco channel and many others channels. For all the mario fans in here its very entertaining to watch and I highly recommend it as someone who enjoyed this video

To be fair this is was a new game at the time the only thing they had to go on was things from the original especially since they both play so many games they probably didn’t have as much practice because they weren’t stuck to a specific genre

It's different when you're on stage. Besides, Jirard's strength comes from persistence, not stellar plays. Abdallah had this one in the bank.
@@Nyah420 whats different about it on stage? you can run across 1 block spaces that mechanic does not change and its not defendable that was a major beef and they both licked nuts for this entire relatively easy level
@@MattyPMoonboarding I think he meant that the Completionist isnt amazing at games its just his persistance that allows him to complete each game. Also it is possible that he just forgot during the finals that you could do that.

Well I was obviously hoping The Completionist would win but I was just stoked to see he made it to the finals! So cool.
Jokes aside, this invitational was surprisingly *REALLY* intense, like more intense than the Smash Bros Invitationals.
Whenever someone says _"Mario isn't an intense game"_ this is the video i will show them.
you can show them some of the hardest SMM levels too for example :P

They showed off two new music tracks b4, the forest theme which was really good and a night underground theme! Like 15 mins b4 it started you can still see them on the uk live stream atm

This is so amazing. I wish I would've known the huge impact that esports was going to have on pop culture growing up. Mario was my life as a child, and the thought of playing it, or pokemon, or smash, etc. for a living was literally the stuff of dreams growing up. really cool to be able to see it come to fruition :)

@@TheErlend87 I would say it's different watching them play versus playing the courses. They never saw the courses before playing. So, of course they're gonna' take some time to figure some stuff out. I thought they played pretty well, all things considered. People only think they could do better because they were watching from home, while Abdallah and The Completionist were actually there, in person, in front of a crowd, way different atmosphere, actually playing a game and requiring hand-eye coordination to go through. It's like whenever you're playing Zelda, you can't beat a boss, and your brother says you have to target his eye. Then you say, you target his eye then. Then, your brother dies just like you. Watching someone game versus playing the game are way different.
Okay, I love completionist,but where was Grand Poo Bear, Dode, Barb, Ryu, Jaku, Xwater, Dram, Carl, other Carl, Failstream, Glitch Cat, Mitch, or any other of my favorite MM1 players?

Abdallah was my first ever favorite CZcamsr. I discovered him through his Yo-Kai Watch post-game videos when I was 9 and since, Yo-Kai Watch has become my favorite video game series, but and I knew he loved Mario and that Super Mario Bros. was the first video game he ever played. I never actually knew he would in an Nintendo Invitational.

Barb is pretty damn good as well. Though he always gets comments about how he isn't as good as Ryukar. Which Mario Maker streamers being told they are not as good as Ryukar is almost a meme at this point. Funny this is, Barb definitely has some clear strengths over Ryu, like Barb being hands down better at the really tricky tech like mid-airs and P-Switch jumps (talking the new physics p-switch jumps, as the old are free regardless).
