Step 1: put a Twomp above the starting position.
Step 2: put invisible blocks at the worst posible locations.
Step 3: dont put any power up at any reachable location.
Step 4: dont put a check point.
Step 5: give a Booh to any one who follow the first 4 steps.
I have tried this method and I can guarantee that this gets you 999 dislikes and a bunch of hate comments
Step 6: Put dev powerups and paths so you can complete the stage
Step 7: watch as everyone suffers!
Step 8: don’t bother making a good level just spam a bunch of enimes and the make a hidden block with a vine in it and use that so it’s impossible
Nonono. Always put checkpoints. Just make sure players revisit them because they're so nice~
Tip 1: Accepted
Tip 2: Accepted
Tip 3: Accepted
Tip 4: Accepted
Tip 5: But I got no friends
*Crawling in my skin plays in the background*
Eh, just kidnap somebody. It'll double as extra motivation, too! If you make a course good enough to entertain your victim, they'll be slightly less likely to press charges!
Same problem i have no friends who like play Super Mario, at least not in my town. Friends online will be helpfull
You need to talk to strangers to get them to be your friends but my mom told me not to do that.
Do u not have family tho
Actually very helpful tips, especially the one about making the title first
Cameron Wood yeah some of these I never thought about and it really helps!
Yup
Jeah give it a name is the best 🥰🥰🥰
Something simple like "Pipe trouble" will very clearly give you a good reminder of what your goal is; obviously a focus on pipes.
Yeah! I've actually heard this same creative tip when it comes to song writing as well.
Another good tip: If you use a certain concept in a level, introduce it in the start where the player is in a safe environment and can learn what to do
ceave
gaming
@@emilioarrambide4210 yeah ceave and a bunch of other good level creators do this
That’s Miyamoto’s philosophyfor good stage design
I always do this with my levels! It's really helpful.
This is amazing for people who aren’t very good at course creation and want to make or get better at it, and it’s even helpful for people who are good at making courses! Thank you so much Mr. Tezuka!
Yeah, I just got Mario maker 2 and getting into the creation process is honestly quite difficult after seeing the amazing creations from 1 and 2. I tried playing story mode and while it helps, I feel like these tips are much better for newcomers
Minimg yeah
Great person, Tezuka-san
The Tutorials actually talk about level design philosophy with what you should do and shouldn't do, it's pretty nice.
Anyone wanna try and beat my level H2N-SWK-XNF its pretty hard
Thank you very much, Mr. Tezuka. As someone who experiences Maker’s block often, I found those tips quite helpful. I look forward to exploring all that Super Mario Maker 2 has to offer!
Tip 1: don't be a troll
DGR wants to know your location
Please!
Edu D
Alpharad wants to know your location
Some troll levels are fun, like if they kill you in funny and creative ways. I enjoy playing troll levels, but not if they aren’t original or creative.
Tip 0 : Actually have the game
My wallet : “Oops”
That's the point...
@@TheCrazyShyGuy r/wooosh
My friends: "When are you going to get the game?"
Me: "I'll wait."
It's probably going to be a couple of weeks before i can get it :(
Super Mario Unimaker exists...
Just a tip
“Anyone will do” right time to take a stranger off the street to help me out on a level
I mean it would actually technically work lol
I love the idea of taking a Switch out with you and asking strangers to playtest your levels.
The hard part of making a level in general: getting them noticed if you're not a popular CZcamsr.
Reddit, GameFAQs and other online message boards have places where you can share courses.
Uhh I don't have social media yet my worst stage has 500 FRICKING plays
@@enigmatixthecringechampion5004 Yes, but how many likes?
Oh. Apparently 63. HOWWWWWWW
@@enigmatixthecringechampion5004 I guess since I only have one level so far that could be the reason as well, either that or more people are expecting those Kaizo levels.
This is really nice for them to make this. Thanks Nintendo
Thank you very much Mr . Tezuka
🙏🙏
Arigato gozaimasu
Does that mean i have no life cuz buddy you got another thing coming... you right
@@JayScreamS lmao
@ItzMikeOmg I don't speak Japanese sadly ;)
@French Jesus on va se calmer la
HOW DO WE GET THE NINTENDO SWITCH PILLOW !?
Buy it
Type in “Nintendo Switch pillow”
Step:1 put troll blocks over pit
Step:2 kaizo
Step:3 UNDERGROUND THEME AT NIGHT
step:4 profit
STONKS 🔼📈
@@alex-sh5ed Step 6: contemplate...
So far the courses have been much better than when Mario maker 1 came out
Well yeah it is the second game and people are a lot more experienced
The legend himself
Tip 1: "Do not make kaizo or troll levels"
Tip 2:
Tip 3:
Tip 4:
Tip 5: "story mode is good make nintendo style levels"
I love this game so much. It’s all I’ve been playing since I got it on day 1. Thank you for making it
I like that translation (how they didn't translate Mario Maker when he said it)
Also, really good points. This is really the game that makes you think like a designer and business person.
Thank you Mr. Tezuka, Super Mario Maker 2 is very fun to both create and play levels.
Thanks Mr. Tezuka. They are actually very helpful.
A lot of Mario level design tips from CZcams.
Finally. Some positivity.
okay, now make tips on how to make anyone play your levels. I made three levels so far and have ZERO plays. It hurts deep in my soul
Toomanybongos You need at least one like on each level for it to be thrown into the level pool
Discord and Reddit
Question, where do I get one of those pillows?
Look up “Nintendo switch pillow” and you should be good. Happy purchase, my guy.
Nice tips! I was hoping for a little level design theory but these are probably better for beginners so these tips are nice too.
If you gonna take advice take it from the original Mario Maker for over 30 years!
Thank you! Getting the rough draft out is something I need to do more.
Thank you, mr. Tezuka-San. These level design tips are amazing!
These are actually really helpful, the only one that I probably won’t be using is tip 4. (Playing story mode for ideas) because I already completed it.
I’ve uploaded six courses so far and no one has played those! How is that even possible with Endless mode?
I wonder as well. It seems like levels have to be up at least 24 hours before they are added to the endless mode queue. But even after that period my levels getting played very rarely, despite being relatively easy (~8% clear rate) and thus being on a difficulty where people do tons of levels at a time. It's as if levels that are already popular have a priority queue. But then again, why do I get all that hot garbage all the time?
Just to help you out, I'm willing to play your six levels (but I can't promise to beat them, if they are difficult). What's your builder id?
My Maker ID is L77-1T7-7QF
All it takes is one like
@@ArchAngel_M81 I got your back. All six levels cleared. It seems like someone else is helping out and cleared 4 of them. Let's hope they get into the endless mode rotation now.
Thank you. I don’t remember there being any pre-reqs on courses in the first game. I also put out a request for help on a Discord community so that’s why you saw the four plays.
I have created so many stages in the original game, but in this one I am given so many things that I don’t even know where to start! These are great, simple little tips and I think I’m going to relax and enjoy creating courses with my family before I tackle something big on my own.
Thank you for the helpful tips!
that's really helpful, thank you so much !
Thank you Tezuka san, not only for the tips but for your life-time career which has given us so much fun and happiness. :)
I recommend this for Maker's Block: Take one of your levels, turn it vertically in the sub-area, rearrange everything so that it's fair for the player to get to the top. Then put it back horizontally, now replace everything you did with something new. BAM you have yourself a new level and no one can tell that it was an old one.
I love this guy. He makes me so happy
These are amazing tips, thanks
The coming up with a title first tip is actually pretty helpful.
This game is insane, thank you Mr. Tezuka !
This is really just so sweet and wholesome
Thanks for the tips, Tezuka-san. It'd be helpful for those of us that are mere beginners. I'd give you a thank you hug if I could
thanks nintendo. yeah its very helpful when i have a friend with me when im maken the course. he gives me ideas what to do.
My thanks to you, Mr. Tezuka
Thanks for all of this tips they helped me a lot
But this vidio is like 30 seconds old
Thank you for the tips
Thanks for th Tips Mr. Tezuka!
I play lost levels recently, and that was a heck of dificult.
Fantastic, thank you for this Nintendo!
These are good tips i havent heard before
Tip 2: Find a good Name. Would be usefull to have a "Search By Name" feature then...
It's not about having 'a good name' just for the sake of having a good name. The point was to give yourself a direction to work in
He could have said: start with a level concept or "story" and work towards that concept.
Awesome. This are actually tips on how to make any platform game, in my opinião.
Tip 5.5: put Kaizo blocks everywhere if you don't know how to make a challenging level lol
Thank you!
Bless this man
Good advice !
Congratulations and thank you for this diamond ❤️🙏🙏🙏😊😊
How could anyone thumbs down Mr. Tezuka??
I know that you guys just released a new Mario game, but I feel like you should make a “Super Toad Bros.” game. You can play as Captain Toad, Green Toad, Yellow Toad, and Blue toad. Also, just like SM3DW, you should unlock Toadette by an extra world.
Thank you, Tezuka-san!
Thank you Mr. Tezuka
Fantastic
Oh nice course creation tips
Nice ideas
Very informative, thank you sir. Hope there's a digital eshop sale so I can buy this later for a great discount.
Yeah..
This is actually why I've always been a Nintendo Gamer😍
ThankYouForTheTipsMrTezuka.
Just made my first course. Still waiting eagerly for someone to try it out. First time I actually had fun making a course
Great job homie
Gracias youtuber Mr. Tezuka
Hey ninetendo, this might not happen but,
in the bowser sound effect it plays only a part from the boss meowser in 3D world.
Do you mind if you can change it to the full song?
I love the music of the meowser boss battle music
Thank you for the happy birthday
thank you for this nintendo gift
Thank you for finally putting subbed commentary instead of the cursed english voice translating
Mario 3 Snow theme music is the best 👌
Hey takashi Im a big fan of you!!!
I Love Super Mario games since I was a little child.
Tip #6: Don't place a bunch of random stuff and expect it to be good.
Awesome sir
I wild like to make my on control in the sitting because i cant play while i hold the Speed button and the jump button in the same time
As someone who struggles with a perfectionist mentality, the struggle is real with tip 1.
Tip #1 has got to be the hardest thing for me to overcome. It's been a personal problem for anything creation-related, for as long as I can remember.
Merci nintendo pour se jeux il est juste genial !!!!!!! ❤️
Arigato Tezuka-san!
what's the best controller for running levels?
THANK YOU MR TEZUKA :)
Please make a edit option in downloaded course when they are beaten a course. Just an idea for new update. So,the players will feel happy.
Another tip, don’t make your levels super insane and make your players very angry.
this man is a treasure

Water You Doing?
Swim, run, jump and switch your way to victory! Water you waiting for? A water level that is fair and just plain fun!
Medium difficulty
I really enjoy making levels and take pride in making them feel as Nintendo as possible! No unfair enemy placements or hazards just plain good old platforming goodness!
It took me almost 10 hours to create this level. Hope you enjoy! Consider adding me to your favorite creator list so you can play my previous and upcoming levels. Thanks!
I appreciate the puns. I'll give it a try when I get the chance. Seems like your levels could be to my taste
Honestly, people making long levels and not putting a checkpoint makes me so mad lol
Cool
wait a 4k video? thats a first from this channel
Which editor decided to have the snow theme playing all over the clips. I'd mute the clips or have no continuous music to prevent them from clashing, personally.
Wholesome :)
Where can I get the switch pillows
such useful and wholesome video! thank you Nintendo!
Good vid
I play it in my head
These are some top tips and are appreciated. But where can a fella get some nintendo switch pillows
I still can't believe it. No Amiibos!
Wow quick!
