    This more than anything illustrates how players and managers are expected to communicate these days. There are always huge expectations resting on the players' shoulders, so they have to be ambitious and show a belief that dreams can come true, while the managers constantly have to keep expectations down in order not to disappoint, and therefore have a higher chance of keeping their job.

I can’t point you to a specific study about this exact point, but you’re free to google impact of stress on athletic performance. Its common knowledge in any workplace that it does over a long term. Either you’ve never been in a workplace that cares about employee stress or you’re at a managerial position with a poor track record.

      Pep can say he is aiming for treble every year and if he gets at least one (Fa, epl or cl) he's keeping his job. Shit, even he wins none in 2years in a row he still keeps his job. Just has to at least get them to CL spot, and have a crack at epl w/o necessity of winning it. He is already a legend. Only significant dip in MC form would result in his departure which hasn't happened for like ages.

    Pep always claims his squad is not the best, or they are not candidates to win trophies because if they won, no harm would be done, and if they lost, he would said that he clarified his team is 'poor', and that he wasn't aiming to win anything.

      Chelsea were playing defensively and Pep might've thought by increasing the attacking players, he could overcome their low compact block, but it failed

      Pep has a lower net spend over the last 3 years than Klopp but has spent more overall. The gap is far smaller than what you’ve posted.
      Klopp also has 4x less leagues than Pep and 3x less trophies overall!

    If anything, last season showed that 4 titles is possible. Liverpool came pretty close. They lost the league on the last day (and even that was somewhat close) and lost the CL only in the final (which was, again, a very close game).
