My name is David and with my dog Lefty we live full time in our converted ambulance RV. I made this change to my 'standard' life and you can too! Like, subscribe and comment - Lefty would appreciate it - he wants the adventures to keep coming!
The Campulance is a 2002 Ford E450 Marque Commando 164 Class III ambulance powered by the Ford 7.3l Powerstroke diesel engine and a 4 speed transmission. Lefty is a 65lb Staffordshire Terrier (best I can tell) that came from the Verona Street Animal Shelter in March 2014 at the age of 9 months. We have been living full time in the campulance since July 2019.

The only thing I would add to your rig is some radios. It had radios in it before so it shouldn't be hard to put some back in there. A CB to talk with truckers to find out about road construction ahead. And some Ham radios to talk way down the road. It is not hard to pass the test to get your license. Just $15 to take the test and $35 for the the license for 10 years! With a smal radio you can talk to a repeater near you and with DMR you can talk almost anywhere in the world that has DMR repeaters! There are Thousands of them!! And it may surprise you how many people around the world speak English! I most just around the US but sometimes Germany, England.

The cop in the car was listening/talking to the cop, through earbuds, that was standing next to you. They were hoping they could catch you under the influence of "something". The Police and courts are a CROWN CORPORATION and operate in commerce,
they can be compared to pirates, looking for something that will result in a penalty or better still .. an arrest perhaps one traveling with a large sum of cash, or smuggling,
firearms - alcohol - tobacco -or- narcotics ... even people smugglers, often fro prostitution - reported missing people who may be hitching a ride, the reasons Police give for a stop are generally a lie.
When asked 'Do you know why I/we pulled you over?
One could reply: You are lost and you need directions.

Holy Moly yes you're daughter is absolutely beautiful. Congrats Dad. You have a beautiful daughter. I feel bad you can't see her more often. Much hope you can see her more often. Really a tragedy we men often deal with the same thing. She is one of a kind and hope she has much of you in her. Like that free spirit and maybe she will turn out just like you or better staying together with her love of her life traveling with her husband and possibly children to come see you wherever she goes. I hope that for you. I know how that all feels and we all cry and hope to be closer to our children but life often gets in the way. I just hope she knows without all we men are bad at showing our emotions she knows you're her father and knows how much you love her beyond belief. She might never know how special she is to you but always have that love and show it as often and even cry Infront of her how hard you try to keep that in. She definitely has to understand men and how hard we try to be men but you have to let lose you're emotions at least once in you're life that you always have had her on you're mind and if you had the money and the time you'd go to the moon for her and back. You got this. You're like all of us it just takes once to show her and forever more it will get easier and easier to show her you're emotions toward her no matter how lonely you are for you're daughter. You must make it know to her. By the way I'm single and she is absolutely beautiful. Lolol no I'm 48 way to old. But she deserves you as a father to show her you're true feelings for a change unless you've already done that and been there. That's where I'll say I'm sorry for trying to interfere. I didn't know and I'll take the consequences. I'm sorry!

As a trucker I've covered all 48 Continental States at one time or another. I have to say about Illinois Troopers that they are some of the most professional and fairest troopers in the country to deal with (and I have on many occasions). My opinion would be that they just took the opportunity to scope you out as your vehicle would be an excellent vehicle to transport a ton of dope in. Consider 90% of the dope going into Chicago is coming up that same corridor it's sort of understandable. If you hadn't pulled into the rest area they may well have just tailed you a while, while running your plates and then finally dropped off into the next median crossover.

Your daughter is beautiful. My daughter will fly from San Diego to the east coast to help me with the driving back to California via I-40 most likely. I am quite familiar with Flagstaff and Williams having been stationed at Luke AFB in Phoenix when I was active duty. I used to backpack on the Mogollon Rim, fish the lakes up there and ski in the Snow Bowl above Flagstaff. It'll be nice to return to the area. After visiting with family throughout California I'll begin my journey in my van, a '19 GMC Savana 2500 cargo van, and live in it for a couple of years. I love watching others who live on the road, how their rigs are modified to acquire ideas for my van build.
