  • 52 yr old Leslie Kolovich had an active and healthy lifestyle. She never believed the subtle early symptoms could mean she had heart disease. Thankfully, she went to the Bay Medical ER in Panama City, Florida where Dr. Haghighat of Cardiovascular Institute was able to save her life.

    Thank you for the advice and sharing your story. I will call my doctor tomorrow morning because I had chest pain this afternoon that started in the center of my chest just like what you explained so I took aspirin and blood pressure medication and it went away. My Dad died at 59 years old of a massive heart attack he had one clotted artery. I’m 59 will be 60 soon.

    I went through a similar experience last August and despite getting a stent, a lot of damage occurred to my heart. It has taken daily medication and 4 months of cardiac rehab to overcome my need to have a defribulator implanted. I still get tired and watch every bit of cholesterol I eat. I made the mistake of not taking my family history and some significant symptoms that occurred a good month earlier seriously. I can't say enough for the ambulance crew that got me to the hospital so quickly and the cardiac team that was prepared to whisk me into surgery. It's hard wondering how much time i will get in this life, but I know modern medicine and skilled professionals gave me more life to live. I am grateful.

    ECG's are never an accurate reflection of what's going on during a heart attack especially in women. Too many times women are turned away at the ER with the assessment of gastric or stress issues without true follow up. Great video your very lucky❤

    High cholesterol does not require you to take a pill like the doctor had told her , it’s about CHANGING your diet and stop eating food containing cholesterol and high saturated fats food. Your body produces all the cholesterol you need.

    I had the exact same symptoms a few days ago. I was so scared but had just started a new job and my insurance had not kicked in yet so I talked myself into thinking I would go an hour with the on again off again sharp pain before I would accept a huge er bill and being told your fine...( I have not been to an er for 20 + years but last time I was dismissed then ended up having surgery for a grade 4 uterine prolapse).
    Luckily my BP only went as high as 160/108 so I not sure
    what I was experiencing was a heart attack.
    My question is, is there a way to tell that you have had a heart attack previously? When an ekg is done can you tell? I know that normally I am a shallow breather...does this mean anything? I have so many questions...my Dad and Grandmother died having the same heart surgery. I guess I'm at the point in my life I starting to consider things.

    • @ChristaD70
      @ChristaD70 Před rokem +1

      Sounds like you should at least have an appointment with a cardiologist to discuss these symptoms. An ekg may indicate prior heart attack. Hope you can get some help soon before anything else happens.

    A female high school classmate had a heart attack in her late 40s. Her main symptom was . Never rely on an EKG alone. Try to get bloodwork to check the ‘cardiac enzymes’. These show damage to the heart muscle. NB Women’s heart attacks are different than men’s…

    In the basement doing nothing, then some one turned on the wood splitter and placed it on my chest... what they say eat a aspirin, OK where is the aspirin? up stairs in the bathroom, up I climb like you see guy's climbing mountains,huffing and puffing... Eat the aspirin wait10 min. well ok then feel fine. Downstairs and play in the basement some more,go to work the next day and 6mo. later I see the doc, he says whats wrong,I say nothing, calls the BS flag on the play,hooks me up and reads the sheet, looks at me and say's you want to go for a ride to get a few stents put in TODAY, I said no, need to talk to the wifey. Well 2days later I'm shorn like a sheep and away we go. So 3 stents and a load of pills and still feel like crap. What gives and the doc say's OH WELL. Diet and PT. get off your ass and PT and eat like a normal person and not like I did when I was 25. This is all funny to me, Heart problems run in the family Both sides I knew what was going on and I was laughing, saying well here we go. Eat well and PT. 6yrs later still feel low down but the heart is beating normally. See ya at the buffet .....
