MJ the only person that can make a love song about a rat and make it sound good
Michael was scary talented upon reflection. He wasn`t just a kid with a cute voice. He had more control of his voice than most seasoned professionals. A God given talent. This was the title song for the sequel to the film "Willard" called " Ben".
And at this time there was no autotune!! No effect on the voice!! Just talent!
This is the quality of music we had in the movies from the 1970's.
The Academy Awards appreciated Michael Jackson's talent.
Harri, Michael's best were "Got To Be There" and "Never Can Say Goodbye" at age 12 and 11 respectively!!. Check them out!!
best song about a rat of all time.......
This song has such a timeless melody. It will be listened to far into the future.
His vocals in this song are simply amazing. Not even just for someone his age, but just because how beautiful his voice is. There will never be another 😢
I Love & Miss Michael, We grew up together. I went to see "Willard" at the theater because of this song. Yep Ben was the rat leader in the movie.💙
Ben was the "Alpha Rat." My older sister took me to see Willard when I was about 12 years old. When it first came out.
Ben is a good movie too! I watched it on CZcams the other day. Can't help the tears flowing xoxo
Such a sweet song about a 🐀! Love it 👍👍
MJ from a adolescent to adulthood he was gifted his voice is unmatched truly The King Of Music Forever!🙌🏽👑❤️💕✨(Please React to Jackson 5 “Looking Through The Window” Live 1972 on the Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour this performance was actually during the same time he performed Ben but he performed Looking Through The Window before Ben)
Man, I grew up with The Jackson 5, I loved this song. I listen to it as I am older and I really think Michael could have used a real good friend growing up, away from his family. It was a movie with a bigger song than the movie.
There's an interview with Donny Osmond when Michael Jackson reached out to him while he was in his motorhome driving throughout the country with his family because he was stressed out from all the celebrity and Donny Osmond invited him to come over with his family and stay with his family for a while hang out at the pool and just have some normal family time because life was stressing him out but he never took him up on it. I think in that way Michael Jackson was very much like Elvis Presley he had a tough time accepting help from other people and destroyed himself.
@@jmartinez9332 So sad because that would have been a good place for him. I would imagine his father wouldn't let him go but who knows.
@@CB-gr1uk by that time he wasn't in control from his father he was his own man he just didn't take up the help.
This song could bring a tear to a glass eye the way his voice blends with the backing vocals.
The Michael, we all fell in love with. Such maturity for his age and song delivery to perfection. Fell in love with this song in the movie "Ben" the rat. Lol "Rockin Robin" was another early favourite. Glad you enjoyed. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
This song brings back memories for me as a young girl. I remember going to see the movie "Ben" (sequel to "Willard") & falling in love with this song. I also bought the 45 record. I can still remember some of the lyrics.
It’s so good ! Michael at his best ! He needed someone more than fame etc! I always loved him growing up he was couple years older but it breaks my heart at times to hear him sing ! RIP Mikey!
It certainly has been a long time since I heard this song. Little Michael Jackson.
Harri, Michael was an incredible talent, sadly missed.
One Day in your Life was another great song of his.
Nice reaction Harri. Love hearing your own story as well.
Still haunts me 😂🤣
MJ IS THE G(E)OAT! THE GREATEST (ENTERTAINER) OF ALL TIME
My absolute favourite Jackson 5 song
Always loved this song. It came out when I was in 6th grade. Another fantastic MJ song is his cover of Twila Paris’s song The Warrior Is a Child. It’s beautiful.
This is still one of my all time favorite MJ songs. Simply perfection. Cheers from Canada :)
For all the Good for all the bad Michael Jackson is the soundtrack of my life
Willard trained his rats to attack on command. "Tear him up!!!!"
My son's name is Ben (he wasn't named after this 😉). Beautiful song.
It's horrible that I have to picture that kid with that rat! 😂
Such a beautiful song. ❤️✌️
love your reactions. i'm gonna keep requesting Cat Stevens - Father and Son.
I think i tried to do that once and it was blocked.Ill try again
@@HarriBestReactions please do live in his early years…just he and a guitarist on stage.. and he was gorgeous 😊 hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
The amount of talent in that family is amazing. Love The J5 and MJ. It is sad after watching the movie on the J5 that they did not get to have a normal childhood.
Always a favorite of mine!
As the movie title stated. First there was Willard. now there's Ben. Great reaction Harri.
It becomes a real tearjerker when you realize he's singing about a giant man eating rat😂
I recall going to see the movie, BEN. The caucasian actor in the film sang this song. Michael sang it so sweetly and I'm sure you did a great job as well!
What a talent. Great reaction. We used to watch the Jackson 5 and The Osmond Brothers.
Ben, the two of us need no one else.
A favorite!!! Thank you!
SO disturbed inside his soul....but he was a GREAT talent
I still cry hearing this! I had a pet rat when I was a young teen and losing him Ben( yes that was his name)... 😢
Ben and Socrates ❤️
Ringing a bell from distant memories. Didn’t know it was a rat either! What a lovely voice & talent he had. The young Michael looks nothing like what he looked like in later years. Complicated life - Thx Harri 💜
Not just a rat, a man eating killer rat
this one was king, talent in every atom
It is the title song from the horror movie “Ben”. Great movie! A sequel to the movie “Willard”.
I saw Michael in concert for his Off The Wall Tour.
It was nice to hear this again, and I'm betting that you didn't suck when you sang it.
😀
This was from the movie “Willard” which I believe he won the Oscar.
This is an MJ hidden treasure...and he could sing so well at that young age.
I remember the film was pretty good. Think it was called "Willard" before its time, I think. Michaels voice is so astounding.
I still have this vinyl album!
You should react to the Pearl Jam song Rats. You could call it the spiritual sequel to this song.
Beautiful song from a sci fi horror movie called, of course, Ben. I believe starring a young Bruce Davison, but I could be wrong. Creepy movie. Great song.
Now, sir - I'm SURE you didn't "suck" in your competition! The Jackson family was LOADED with talent, but it was evident even at such a young age, Mr. Michael Jackson got the lion's share. The movie, "Ben", which this song was written for, was released in 1972, & was the sequel to the movie, "Willard", released in 1971. Ben was the highly intelligent, but EXTREMELY sinister rat star of both. You may want to binge-watch them back-to-back some dark & creepy night, sir! Couple of my fave Jackson 5 songs you may want to check out if you haven't already, sir: "I Want You Back", which is a banger; & "I'll Be There", which my late husband & I chose as one of our wedding songs. Thank you, sir, for this trip down memory lane, with all its many stops!
Hi Harry blessings from the northwest in the United States. There's an interview with Donny Osmond when he said that song was originally written for him to record but that they were on tour so they couldn't record it and then they gave it to Michael Jackson to sing and it was a huge hit and the movie is really good too. There's another interesting point there's a song that the Osmonds had a big hit with called One bad Apple which was originally written for the Jacksons and for some reason they couldn't record it or they didn't want to do it and the Osmonds made it a huge hit. There's a good video of the Osmonds doing One bad Apple and if you play that then you can bring up the story and I think would be very interesting to your followers on this channel.
Thanks J
R. I.P Michael
I love this song! ☺
Michael actually had a pet rat as a child. The Jackson's lived in a crowded little home that had rats and Michael used to play with them. This was nominated for an academy award for best song from the movie "Ben"
😂 yup … I believe for a soundtrack
I believe this was at the Oscars
I think it was the Jackson 5 show..
His brothers were back up singers!
Never should have changed his face.
He didn’t it’s called human nature and health issues he couldn’t control we all here for the music so shut up about MJ’s features
@@Milkers777 He couldn't control getting three nose jobs?
@@Milkers777
It's kind of weird that you have that profile pic.
Michael's face did definitely start troubling many people that were truly concerned by the way he took.
Blame his father, but it's all tragic.
I remember watching the movies about the rats
Harri, your "Ben" at 12, could not have been as embarrassing as my cornet duet of "Winchester Cathedral" at 12. No, not the beautiful house for dead poets, but rather a song that somehow made it to the sharts, I mean charts, or both, back in the '60s.
A Dodi o' dough!
Love Winchester Cathedral, especially Rudy Vallee's version 🏆
@@Phoenix85006 I shall seek that one out. No idea he sang that! I wonder what Captain McGloo thought of it?
@@MisterWondrous the video is on CZcams because I just watched it again within the past week. He recorded it after the New Vaudevillians did it. It's awesome 😎
😂🤣😂
@@Phoenix85006 Heading there now. Thanks!!
Not just a rat (a killer rat)!
talk at the end
Good man! ✌️😎
Ben was the head rat of a pack in the movie Ben.
And I think Michael was 12 or 13 singing here.
I always felt he had such a beautiful voice, as a child and as an adult. I just didn't care for most of his music...not a judgement, just my taste. Maybe there are some hidden treasures in the vault.
Omg! I had the 45, and saw the movie Ben when it first came out. Cant rememberwhich i had first . Years later saw Willard.
M J was truly gifted beyond measure. I've liked everything he did, in his professional life, but not a big fan.
He looked so good the way he was. Why the heck did he have to change?
You mean to say it is not Bill's song to Ben in "Bill and Ben the flower pot men "? Lol
He didn't have a childhood so he made friends with a rat he found in his home
This is one of those rare moments where the Generation X person tells a story in the song. Nhe was born in 1958, the start of the Generation X, so in his formayive years he was heavily influenced by the baby boomer.
Fraces Yip, a famous Hong Kong singer and a former Cathay Pacific air hostess, sang this son beautifully back in the mid-70s with all the rhythmic highs and lows. She is a baby boomer.
Just like Tracy Huang the Taiwanese singer which I mentioned in one of your other videos, Fraces Yip the Hong Kong singer is still singing.
I think you can check out Rracy Huang's Emotions and Francis Yip Speak Softly Love for a change of East Asian singers singing English songs. Your patrons would flip hearing their renditions. Tracy Huang is also a baby boomer.
Actualpy they had such gentle voices in those songs that I recommended above that they even sound better the original singers. In fact you MUST do a reaction to these two songs one day.

Jackson was a boomer, not Gen x. Baby Boomers ran from 1946 until 1964.
U dont ha0ve to pause Harri....
If you keep leaving this comment,im gonna consider you as spam and block you..Thanks
I love MJ and his music was great but this song is quite silly singing about a Rat, just my opinion, but maybe I shouldn’t think about Rat when I hear it
A loyal affectionate relationship to a pet rat could be the same as an affectionate relation to a fave housecat who is a little furry and lovable companion.
