The first Despicable Me has a great charm and imagination. I would be drawing the gadgets and vehicles from those movies a lot when I was a kid. But it's hard to not ignore that charm slowly being lost with each movie release.

Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 were the best ones. Vector vs Gru's boss fight was epic, especially in the fact that the moon kept getting bigger eventually swallowing Vector's entire ship. Despicable Me 2 introduced Lucy, who is a true badass especially when just casually putting Gru in her trunk. But ever since then, the movies felt less funny. The jokes are just minions playing around nowadays. Despicable Me 3 had some strange filler, and Despicable Me 4 had a random villain. And, for Minions. *we don't talk about Minions*

In the French Dub of the original Despicable Me Movie, when the Minions are stealing the SR-6 (The Shrink ray one), one of them says to the scientists that owned the weapon "-Haha, *Connasse* !". That word is a really, really bad swear word in French. It's kind of like "Dumbass" but worse. Something like "Stupid Dumbass". It's the only part of the Movie that made me and my mom laugh, because It made no sense to have that in a kids' movie. Edit: I found the clip. Realistically I feel if frozen had 4 movies like DM does, it would be far higher considering both frozen films are 1 billion and above. And seeing how inside out 2 went even higher then one. Frozen almost making the same as the avengers entire franchise (not just movies) most definitely would be number one. Only thing I feel could beat it is if Mario got 4 movies. But I feel Mario’s movie wouldn’t be as hype considering not lots of shit to do with that thing since they milked so much out the first. I feel barely even 3 Mario movies will work. Nah Shrek 1 and 2 have amazing writing. Shrek 4 is maybe passable and Shrek 3 was just plain ass. Idr Puss in Boots 1 but The Last Wish was a masterpiece. Here's hoping Shrek 5 will be in the same vein as the last Puss in Boots movie.
You know what really sucks is that this franchise has slowly fell apart with each movie. The first one was amazing, the second one was alright, same with the Minions, then the 3rd was veary mid, I haven't seen rise of gru so I I can't speak on that, and then the 4th one sucked. I really hope they try to fix these movies.
