Perturabo was such a fool. His actions lead to his own misery and he chooses every single time to wallow in his bed of misery. He is in total denial that he is at fault for anything. Blames everyone else. He chooses again and again to do awful things to everyone around him just so he can have a few more excuses to prop up his own delusions. Misery loves company so he treats his own soldiers and people with nothing but contempt. He eventually becomes more machine than man. Deep down behind the veil of cold emotionless steel is a man raging with emotions, regret, anger, hatred for others but probably hatred for himself above all else. When confronted with the truth he just doubles down, pretends that killing his foster sister is a act of cold emotionless but in reality he's just petty and fuming with anger at hearing all the truths she spoke.

Perturabo is the 40K equivalent of that guy who does all the work in the group project while everyone else parties.

Perty could be the GOAT if GW gave him the chance. He is the perfect foil for both Guillman and Lionel Johnson in 40k. He has the best logistical ability in the galaxy other than Guillman. And he is a commander below but close to the level of Lionel Johnson. Give my man his chance!

Perturabo is that one loner in school who is clearly miserable, always doing all the work on every project, and constantly gets made fun of. Then you try to get to know him and he cusses you out, and you find out that people let him do all the work because he gets mad at them for doing it wrong otherwise, and he tends to responds to attempts at friendship with punches to the face. He's the loner who is genuinely miserable but absolutely doesn't let anyone help and is the architect of his own misery.
Silent victories tend to stay silent when the victor refuses to speak of them.

Perterabo is the perfect example of what would happen when an average man was born with godly powers. Primarchs are suppose to be higher beings and guides to mankind. Bringing humanity up and out of the miazma of the warp. Perterabo is the emperor's ultimate failure. The tragety is not his backstory and trauma. But the fact that he was given the gift of godhood and remained an average human.

The attack on Terra didn’t fall apart the instant he quit the siege.
And he is quite right. There are no gods in 40k. The chaos pantheon are warp hurricanes with sentience.

06:37 The problem here is that the year Perturabo burned Olympia is right at the year 000 M30 about the same time as the Triumph of Ullanor. So Angel Exterminatus' description of a corrupted Horus approaching Perturabo at the time was either retconned or no one noticed when his Primarch book was written.

You've had some facts wrong, he didnt had models for miniatures wargaming, this was done in like 3d simulation computer games. The warhound model that was smashed into Fulgrim's face was from his collection of stuff and was bassicaly a some sort of clockwork wind-up toy.

Perty is one of those characters that I can see exactly why he is the way he is. His power set is a blessing and a curse. Smartest man alive but no fun in the journey and he has constant paranoia. Shit sucks. But on the other hand. I have never had a character so easily remind me of a handful of people I have had to be around for long periods of time lmao. A person who just cant communicate their feelings properly and will instead quietly seethe. All the shit that he gets memed on for his manchild behavior basically lol. Its because of that part that I cant stand him.
Which is great writing honestly 10/10 wouldn't have it any other way.

I love Perturabo. I think if him and vastorr work together, they could turn the Tyranid threat into new war machines thanks to Vashtorr’s power over machines and Perturabo’s technovirus! Thing is, they have an uneasy partnership, which angers me, because Vashtorr is the most honest and straightforward demon who genuinely is all about business and gives it to you straight about the price, and he only deals in souls, demon engines, warp smithing, and the dark mechanicus, which Perturabo uses heavily. All vashtorr has to do is give Perturabo approval on his works and they have a jolly cooperation!
I want GW to reconsider his demon hood but I know GW doesn't care I want him to have ether being forced to be a daemon primarch or be like corax embracing his truest form and perty being made of iron would fit him perfectly to me
I think whatever we get will be really cool! GW does a really great job at bringing characters full circle, so I am excited! Thanks for watching!

Perturabo got done dirty by Chaos. By keeping him paranoid, which kept him isolated, he got an inferiority complex and repressed all his emotions to always project strength to not show weakness.
Which means he could never give himself a break.
Which turned into a martyr complex because he was hurting but couldn’t tell anyone and never got help.
Which made him bitter and petulant.

I think Pert should have been made war master after the Heresy and Abbidon his lackey or figure head. Acting much like the emperor and his forces he commands. You don't really hear from him but you know Pert is doing something like the emperor playing chest with his war bands. It fits well into the setting of bad shadowy figures that is playing the long game of siege and attrition. Explains why a lot and periods of nothing happens in the lore as he's plotting.
I think perturabo works more as a frank horrigan enforcement type rather than a leader. I don't think he would ever be Abaddons right hand man considering how he is as a person, but he would certainly do some damage. Thanks for watching!

There's a funny juxtaposition between Horus and Perturabo and I wish they would explore it more. Horus is a man of limitless charisma but questionable qualification for Warmaster, while Perty is a man of no charisma but fully capable of succeeding in any task.
In that same sense, the Lion is really the most similar primarch to Perturabo, as they both share that obsessed genius quality, the Lion just having a crystal clear sense of purpose to keep him balanced, in contrast to Perty's flailing introspection.
I think it would be really cool if/when the Lion meets daemon-Perturabo he's struck by how confident and self-possessed he's become unlike the gibbering slave he saw in Angron.

You forgot about his relationship with Magnus in his Primarch novel. Honestly one of the more slept on novels imo, the Thousand Sons, Iron Warriors and their Primarchs are shown to have a lot in common in that book. Kinda makes you wonder if Perty and Magnus stayed loyal during the Heresy. Horus wouldnt have stood a goddamn chance.

Yeah, sure Perty is a salty bitch, but it seems to me, at least, that Magnus was his favored brother, despite the on-the-face differences between them. Perty genuinely cared about Magnus and his consul. I see them both as tragic characters that were meant for so much more in the Emperors vision. Imagine what those Legions could have done in concert with each other if only they had stayed loyal?
Perhaps THE Saltiest Person/Being in All of 40K even if he has reason to be. Especially once he joined the Heresy and Had to deal with Their Bullshit while Carrying It The Whole Team.
Perturabo is such a well written flawed character that I can't get myself to like him like I do Lorgar and the Word Bearers.
Personal preference I suppose, entertaining video nonetheless I must say.

I jjust remain amazed that GW can spend years writing the Iron Warriors as hypocrites who decry mutation and the Emperor's Children's use of monsters while constantly making mutants and monsters, who insist that they don't worship Chaos while worshipping Chaos, and yet when they reveal that Pert is a daemon prince, the fandom is shocked.

Peter turbo wanted to be a builder, a architect but instead was to be used as a tool for war. He hated it and kept going through spite, witch secured is role as the primarch that get the shit campagns over and over and pulled through it. He was bitter at core and coat hilself in bitterness.
It's a shame because all the primarch got impressed by is feats in building and archutectural wonders, tho they all agreed is legion was a well oiled machine .
Without is invollement the heresy would have never reached Terra.
He got the treatment of the incompetant bitter jober vilain in curent novels while being one of the biggest threat to both the Imperium and possibly the dark crusade, witch is funny.
Either way, perturabo is one the best warhammer characters, always will be! Thank you for watching!

Perturabo the Demon Primarch of Khorne and his Iron Warriors: just like living armor leaking hot iron generated by their own boiling blood!
(And most terrifyingly, despite their rage their minds are intact)
According to logic, how would Perturabo seal his pact with Khorne, destroying first Monarchia and then Olympia?
Can he become a master of destructive Metal Magic, then creating bloodthirsty Sorcerers of Khorne in his army?
Perfect example is the magic of Azariah Kyras as the Daemon Prince of Khorne!

Dammekos wasn't perfect. Perturabo had quite a bit of justification to think the way he did about the Tyrant of Lochos, but Dammekos was also a product of his environment, and tried to politik his way into the safety and interests of his own state. Plus another very important thing was the constant assassination attempts.
Also, I have a feeling Big E really did seem to value Perturabo, maybe even more than characters like Guilliman. The Iron Warriors are provisioned so much battlegear, more than any other save The Dark Angels, he has the second largest Gloriana Class Ship, _and_ critics of his actions like Guilliman were censored by The Emperor himself. I think that The Emperor probably thought, as privately as he did, that The Iron Warriors did some of the best work that they were made for, just given his behaviour above, an attitude that Horus seems not to share.
Lol his personality would be so much fun as a professional wrestling character.

Perty is sort in an ironic way similiar to a religious zealot who hides behind faith and god for their horrible actions. he thought everyone saw him as a tool, which began to make him see himself as a tool. THis led to a sort of thought process that Perty's actions were not his own, it was a job he was forced to do because someone else made him do it.
But deep down he knows he madethos descisions, he could have done it differently, and instead chose the most brute force way possible. But he always got it done no matter what, no matter the cost. His silence of just doing his job made him become exactly what I see alot of workers in real life start to do.
He didn't beg for praise or apreciation, he did his job hoping that his actions alone would cause others to step up and reward him and thank him. But like any business they see your abilities and simply assume that's your 'normal' and exploit that and burn you out. You try so hard and get nothing back. It makes you hate the company and become spiteful. Any loyalty you had burns away, it is now just a job you've left yourself to stew in feeling trapped.
In theend seeing himself actually be threatened and maybe die led him to actually realize his issues but ultimatly this fear of death made him permanently tied to chaos. Something he hates beyond anything. Much like Mortarion who has become a massive hypocrite, Perty seems to have accepted that he is one.
Oh yeah absolutely! It's one of the reasons why I love perturabo so much. He is so engaging and I really do enjoy him! Thanks for watching!

I'm only 40 seconds in, and I'm gonna disagree bud. Perturabo is an archetype that burns his candle at both ends, puts on a happy face and then one day snaps and kills people.
All he has to do is speak with people, explain his issues and people as a species, work together to solve issues collectively.
But he doesn't, he sees such collectivism as weakness, so he shoulders every burden given to him, makes himself a slave for the emperor, for horus and now eternally the chaos gods, and says not a word. but inside he rages.
His flaw is his strength, his flaw is... its ok to ask for help.
But he would rather be the asshole that spends his sons lives like a rich man spends coin, pretending he doesnt care when the only damage he does is emotional damage to himself, he will be the eternal victim, he makes himself his own victim.
like, he always hurts himself for others and then blames them for it. THEY DONT HEAR YOUR INTERNAL DIOLOGUE.
