On the top of Trickity Tower is an invisible barrier that prevents Plessie from entering to break the only easy way out being the pipe, although if Pless was allowed he'd just poof out and you can use him as a boost and wall jump out from the center of Trickity Tower. Not only gold pipes, but cloud cannons too can make Fury Bowser go away. Bowser Jr laughs at Mario when he gets hit, but gets shocked when Mario loses a life. (Also just a note, Plessie's gender is not very well confirmed. Different sources say different terms)
Pretty sure the reason it draws the shadows at insane distance is because the character drop shadow is actually a projector that need not be culled because it's efficient.

The health bars above Shadow Luigi and Fury Bowser are the same as in Breath of the Wild. The red colour and the animation when a part disappears (white flash + wipe) are at least very similar.
you said you don't have 1-up if you do that famous turtle jump, but I know why you don't 1-up and why in bouser's Fury you don't lose life like that and good because you only have infinite life than evil and who doesn't have the challenge of hunting lives across the map :) :(
Another detail: the 4 colors of the kittens are the same colors as the different characters in cat suits in the regular 3d world. Green for luigi, pink for peach, blue for toad, and black for rosalina.

Shadows are very taxing to draw. The game might just be very optimized, or it probably renders low-res shadows at farther distances.
