Dark moon greatsword is def way cheaper with the fact u only have to use L2 to buff the weapon then u can spam charged heavy attack beams to ur heart’s content but using the projectile gets kinda boring

I think blasphemous blade is more clunky and boring to play though and the way the beams look coming out of the dark moon blade looks so much cooler. Only weapon that makes you feel larger than you really are. Kinda like the serpent hunter in the rykard fight. One of the only weapons that feels truly end game.
I don't care what anyone says I'm always going to love my dark moon great sword from outer space and it shoots Lasers which is sick
The endurance really hinders the build dmk really takes lot of stamina to launch 1 charged projectile so if u get greedy u will be locked out of rolls and just die if u are lower on health
I've made hundreds of builds, but power stancing two blasphemous blades is the strongest thing ive ever found

I prefer BB because it's just so idiot-proof (I am said idiot) - it's distance based, you don't have to charge it, you can spam it, you heal from it, etc.
Moonlight's special attack is free and can be spammed since it's just a charged heavy replacement and not a weapon art.
DMGS is also idiot proof. Just shoot 2-3 beams from range and get a stagger and frostbite applied. Things just melt
you can have a lot more fp flasks with bb because bb heals you so you don't need as many hp flasks, making the free special attack on moonlight a trivial argument. the fact you can have more fp flasks with bb also offers you a lot of versatility with faith incantations because you have access to much more mana@@The_Novu
For the powerstance category. I powerstance the blasphemous Blade with the Golden Order Greatsword in my first playthrough. It is very fun because enemies are not resistance to both fire and holy. Then I just powerstance both of the blasphemous blade together for double healing or Ordovis Greatsword for another type of damage. Str faith was the to go build. If you want to build str as well for later game then you can use the Gargyole weapon to powerstance with it. Those have good AOW and very high damage

You can't feel their resistance when the powerstanced weapons melt them easily even in NG+7. Faith holy can also cover for using Envoy's Longhorn against Fire Giant, the Blasphemous Bane.
Moonlight greatsword because blasphemous blade looks disgusting
Blasphemous can give the semi infinite sustainability with milos blade and the mana regen talisman, plus it heals you for lile a ton, it can make you insanely tanky and you can breeze the game with it. I know darkmoon is def strong but blasphemous requiring faith means you also get access to the amazing buffs so it wins for me. Of course all souls games are great because different things work for different people and there are no definitive answers, play whats good and feels natural to you, not what any meta list says
Darkmoon works with Godfrey icon and terra magica, so honestly both have their shining moments with buffs
My first playthrough of Elden Ring (was my first Fromsoft game other than Sekiro) I played as a sorcerer for the first half of my playthrough. Once I got the Dark Moon Greatsword it got me way more interested in melee play vs constantly casting. After I got Blasphemous Blade I decided to respec into a Paladin power-stancing Blasphemous Blade and Gargoyles Great Sword.
I preferred Blasphemous Blade much more. It has pretty high damage even if it’s just a little under DMGS. It can still be buffed in many ways. The healing effect on kill and with Taker’s Flame is honestly unbeatable. I believe Taker’s Flame has a similar or more range to the heavy projectile from DMGS.
Fire damage tends to be the most useful damage throughout the game overall.
Not to mention there are just as many unique and powerful incantations that can be used with a Blasphemous Blade similar to spells usable with a DMGS build.
Overall I love both weapons. I started with DMGS but after running a paladin build I felt so much more tanky and survivable with a large range of incantations available to me… meaning in the end I preferred the Blasphemous Blade a good bit more than DMGS. However I feel both swords are some of the best options in their respective class/build types.
I’ll take,the blasphemous blade every day twice on Sunday bc it’s a new weapon. It’s cool dark moon procs frost but it’s too reminiscent of the moonlight greatsword and doesn’t do anything to set it apart unlike the Bloodborne holy moonlight gs which had a completely unique moveset complete w new animations

i actually love them equally however i think blasphemous is the one i like a little bit better thematically.
I really like the DMGS in general for gameplay, the charged R2 when powered up is a poise breaking machine, and with the right talismans, does big dick damage all the time. Plus, you're an intelligence build, so you're already broken.
New gamer and Blasphemous blade saved my play threw. The AOE and decent damage with range has saved me so many times its hard to put into words. 40 faith with 40 str and as much Vigor as I was able has gotten me threw the capital so far

the Blasphemous Blade has plenty of great powerstancing options. The Gargoyle's Black Blade and the Gargoyle's Great Sword with a flame arts of sacred affinity both have a higher AR than the BB, and both have the option of great AoWs that are very similar, but with less range. Black Blade shoots a beam of holy damage, though I'm not sure what Vacuum Slice counts as, likely physical. Pretty much any greatsword that can be imbued can be great with powerstancing.

I prefer dark moon over blasphemous, especially since when you were talking about damage, the dark moon already got more damage with the buffs you used, but you can boost it further - howl of Shabriri and golden bow still work with it if you go into a bit of faith. The blashemous blade is much more limited as it doesn’t work with things like terra magica and jellyfish shield. And then you have the charged damage buffs for dark moon as well, coupled with the ridiculous damage you get from the frost procs - blasphemous blade is great but dark moon takes it for me

obviously both are great but the healing and aoe of bb does it for me. went into the double crucible knight fight with no red flasks and first tried it by spamming takers flames. truly in a class of its own imo and definitely better against mobs but if you are skilled enough to not benefit that much from the healing then dmgs apparently can do more damage
Option to power stance with the blasphemous blade would be an infuseable Greatsword with flaming strike.
My pick is Dark Moon GS. I don’t care about health regen because I rarely get hit nowadays and it deals more poise damage, has frost, gets “free” projectile attacks, can be buffed in numerous ways to make it incredibly strong and it just looks nicer

this 2 swords are pretty great the blasmp blade carried my first game but the sword who spin with the right rings is by far the strongest againts 90% of the enemys you can reach around 20k dmg

While the poise dmg is great with darkmoon, blasphemous blade will always be the malenia slayer.
Pair Blasphemous Blade (hp regen on kill) with Sword of Milos (fp regen on kill).
thats a good shout but personally i jus use sacred relic sword with it. sacred relic sword for clearing entire rooms with just 1 use of arts (its honestly broken, they could do with nerfing its arts tbh), and blasphemous blade for lower number of enemies\bosses. never run out of flasks and breeze through everything with that setup. The beauty of this is, if u are low hp and jus use sacred relic sword arts everything dies and ur hp bar just fills up coz u still get the hp on kill effect with bb on your back. I tend to go 25% heal flask\75% mana flask on flask allocation with this setup, since bb heals you anyway but having a few hp flasks for emergencies is nice. sacred relic sword also the best farming weapon in the game whether you are farming runes or items, jus 1 arts and everything in front of u dies.
I have two characters, my faith uses the blade os blasphemy, and my Intelligence build use the dark moon, so i love both
I have decided to stay fuck it, and have both, and just switch talismans and whatnot depending on what I'm feeling like. I am almost lvl 300 tho, so I have a bit more freedom than most.
I think it’s fair to say blasphemous blade is a better defensive option in the sense that it excels at keeping you healed and with crowd control, while the DMGS is a better offensive option as it can have higher damage output (skill isn’t single use), it has better poise damage and less enemies are resistant to it. They’re the two best weapons in the game and excel at different things
I use both. But I love Moonlight Greatsword the most.

So to get the dark moon sword you just need to clear caria manor then speak to ranni at rabbis rise. Follow her instructions, and eventually kill radahn. End of her quest gives you the sword

For Role-playing Purposes, I choose the Blasphemous Blade, in a "Dark Knight" build, invader, who never will Kill Mohg, since he is my Master, until the day "Finally Comes", I hope the DLC have options with him, maybe "Covenant" or at least an New Ending

Blasphemous blade no question, the healing is nuts and you can add that pendant that gives you even more health from killing enemies so you never need to heal. Damage is excellent and when paired with the mimic tear you now have an unkillable ally to draw aggro. Looks much more menacing too.
If I were to throw in my opinion, the best weapon in Elden Ring is the Giant's Seal, get 80 Faith and have your max upgrade Mimic Tear spam Burn O Flame! until the boss dies. It's easy, it's effortless, and if that doesn't make it the best, then being the best in Elden Ring is a meaningless prize.
If I had to pick based on this video's prompt, then Blasphemous is better because you can obtain it way earlier and easier than Darkmoon, and Faith builds are more versatile than Sorcery builds for PvE situations. You can apply Frostbite, Bleed, Poison, and Rot to bosses, you can give yourself insane Physical and Elemental Negation, you can buff your damage with Flame, Grant Me Strength and Golden Vow, you can gain large amounts of health regeneration, etc.
DMGS doesn't feel like the rest of the MLGS to me. I like when it's more teal rather than completely blue. Also, could you imagine if Blasphemous Blade had bleed or something?

I want darkmoon but I gues blasphemous blade it is.. can get early.. darkmoon need to beat a main boss. Its eather one or the other.. since you need to decide where to invest your character stats to hold the weapon..

Both are among the best in class. Both run off different stats, and both are iconic. Only the Last Boss weapon really outmatches,with Wave of Gold. Why fight?

Idk if it’s just me but after my play-through with DMGS I felt Blasphemous Blade was more fun, easy to use and can kill multiple reggie enemies at the same time and I melted bosses faster! 😅😅
blasphemous blade heals you for free when you kill enemies so you can save all your flasks for the boss (it even heals you if you aren't using it, as long as you have it equipped on your back), takers flame knocks enemies over and heals you on hit useful for pvp to knock invaders off ledges and such or recover hp if you are out of flasks. id rather have this versatility and sustain than a little bit more damage. dark moon is B scaling in intelligence not A, same with blasphemous blade for faith scaling. blasphemous blade has C dex\str scaling while dark moon has D dex\str scaling so blasphemous blade has better scaling overall. if enemies have immunity to frost or magic, dark moon greatsword becomes handicapped. if enemies are immune to fire, doesn't matter because blasphemous blade thrives more from its physical damage than fire damage. also in the time u are proc'ing frostbite on invaders with dark moon (good luck with that if they are good at dodging), u already killed them with blasphemous blade. I would say, blasphemous blade is overall a much better weapon while dark moon is situationally better. in a game like elden ring, you don't want situational you want a good all rounder

I know it was a small point made towards the end of the video but about blocking with your weapon, dragon bolt blessing makes it decently viable with anything that's as big as a greatsword and above. So the blasphemous having access to that makes it a real advantage.

You can only use 1 of the ash of wars so there no poibt having both. It would also be better just having the jellyfish sheild for the moon sword and milos sword for blastformous blade

Basically, BB is better for worse players bc it heals you, and DMGS is better for more seasoned players who don’t need the healing but benefit from the extra dmg
