- -What If Nuno's Delay Pedal Broke During Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee?
***Delay Pedal Settings that I used: 220 milliseconds, one repeat, then I made the repeat as loud as the initial sound. đđž
Had to paint the nails black for this one in honor of Mr. Bettencourt.
Thanks for watching.

The no-delay version sounds like every impossible boss theme in an NES game.
I totally heard the NES Zelda dungeon music.
I thinking something from Mega Man for sure
đ
holy shit . your right
Where can I find That ?
Well that is an eye opener. The track sounds so much faster than it's actually played. I always thought Nuno's right hand would be twice as quick. Thanks mate.
I thought the same - interestingly Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee is probably one of the least impressive things he did on pronograffitti
@@jozefk.7720 those critiques probably have never pick up a guitar in their life. Nuno is a legend!!
@@john2357 But he didn't do it. Bumblebee was played by Dweezil Zappa...
@@SpaceCattttt Wrong. Zappa only played a few notes in the beginning of He Man.
nuno has always been very honest about the delay being the secret to this piece.
You totally painted your fingernails like Nuno's just to play a Nuno piece. Man, that is dedication.
You should see his Wes Borland video....
I thought he was really unlucky that he accidentally hit all his finger tips with a hammer.
Dude, I love the fact that you've been covering Extreme lately. My father is really close friends with their singer and original drummer. So much so that there are pictures of them as kids in my grandfather's house lol
I always liked Gary in Van Halen. Underrated album.
dude thats sick!
@@bradchervel5202 You're the only other person to say they like that album besides Gary.
@@bradchervel5202 me too would have liked to have got another album.
@@bradchervel5202 It's underrated specifically because it's different. Gary brought an odd swagger to what otherwise would've been regular Van Hagar songs. People found that to be off-putting because he was so different from Sammy.
Also, Van Halen's own music was really starting to change with For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge and Balance, both of which saw fans scratching their heads. By the time VH III came out, they'd gone from "Black and Blue" to "Pleasure Dome" to "The Seventh Seal". Oh sure, we also had "Poundcake", "Runaround", and "Can't Stop Lovin' You", which were really easily digestible, but it was obvious the band was getting darker and more experimental from one album to the next. Less party and more hangover.
Gary straight-up rocks, but his style didn't mix well with the Van Halen hangover. Personally, though, I was hoping to see more. I really wanted to see what they could do with Gary fully integrated with the band before they started writing material.
You should do a breakdown of He Man Woman Hater's main riff, it's crazy how swag and cool and difficult it is all at the same time
It's probably my favourite riff of all time
Yes! Such an awesome riff
In the meantime, Ben Eller has a great video on exactly this czcams.com/video/oj5CiLzjL74/video.html
Absolutely disgusting riff.
Thank you for proving that Nuno is not an alien, cyborg or vampire. His playing is out-of-this world and he simply, stubbornly, spookily refuses to age. Now that we know that he is human due your video, I am depressed that I now don't have an excuse to explain why I still can't sound like him after 30 years of trying.
Yeah we all dođ
The next tune, He Man Woman Hater doesn't rely on delay. It's still sick picking.
Still a good composition even without the delay
It sounds truly wounded now.
That actually sounded better then I thought it would without delay.
i think i like it more. i like the piece its a good homage to the original comp. definitely "wounded"
I remember having the tab with no delay agonizing over how slow I sounded. Keep up the great work.
that was bloody guitar world totally missing the delay trick and tabbing it out insanely - down to ghost notes... I was like .. bs anyone is doing this garbage - later Nuno was asked and laughed at the same article
It's just as impressive as before. Playing with delay like is tough. Any speed imperfections become SO apparent
I've always said the problem with using a delay is that if you make mistake you get to hear twice. Or more.
@@kilroy2517 czcams.com/video/sOEs38McXPQ/video.html lol
Really nice commitment! Thatâs why I keep coming back to your videos over and over.
Glad to see more Nuno Bettencourt love! Always here for it.
I had a feeling it would still be pretty impressive even without the delay. I wasn't wrong.
Yes you were lol
You were for sure...
Looks doable so, tonight I try.
Lmfao no it's not impressive at all đ€Ł
Doing it correctly - I.e. - without the use/help of the repeats from the delay, would be impressive albeit, still very-much do-able
Love how authentic your playthroughs are, you are always true to the original recordings and now even down to the nail varnish. You should do an Ace Frehley solo in full makeup next
You've got the feel spot on. On and off palm muting at the right times brings out that clarity. Good job
Absolutely beautiful job covering thisâŠwowđ€đ€
Mike, that was fantastic playing!
And a great idea to let us hear and see the version without delay. Thanks so much!
Wow! Yes, different, but still crazy cool and challenging. Nice job, that was perfect! And the black nails look just right for this :)
One of the best guitar related videos Iâve seen In ages mate ! Bravo đ„ł
Just learnt this and now I can play along with this as a guide and slow it down - great playing dude you are very well rounded.
Great job, thank you for sharing. I start to study this challenging song just without delay and this video is so helpful!
Best compliments for your playing
Nice touch of realism with the black nail polish!
That was such an amazing demonstration. I recall back in the day reading an article about how to do the math on the delay settings so you could practice it slow with the delay still having the same effect so you could gradually increase the speed as you got better at playing it.
The timing of the section at 0:34 has always confused me, almost sounds off beat to me on the original. Made a lot more sense now hearing it at 2:05!
Man that was just some great stuff. That's an impressive song with and without the delay.
DAMN!! That was Impressive!!! Nicely done!!!!
Really cool! Thanks for the video. And that demo. And that nail polish.
Three sides to every story, the third side (in it's entirety), is an amazing complete thought and a work of art that still hits me deep. I always thought that record was one of, if not the biggest casualties of nirvana.
1000% man. I've had the exact same thought about it being a casualty of Nirvana. That whole album is insanely good. Cupid's Dead is one of the most underrated rock songs of all time
Great video, showing us how this oldie sounds without delay.
Thank god Nuno used it.
that was incredibly good!! Great job and video! đđđ„đ„đ„đ„
Iâve been waiting FOREVER for somebody to do a CZcams vid of this without the delay. Great job dude. Sounds a lot less intimidating(!) Might have to give it a go myself!
Great job!!! That was amazing!
Nice touch with the black nail polishđ
So cool. And what a beautiful guitar! Love the channel
Iâm not sure what emotion Iâm feeling after watching that.
Dude! This is perfect! I love the nail polish.. so NUNO!
Nice nod to Nuno with the black polish! Great vid
My hand hurts watching this. Outstanding work bro đ„đ€
good idea man! awesome video!
Really great video man đ.
Bravo! Love nuno! Great video and playing!
I love both versions! Keep covering Nuno's stuff!!!!!
Wow, recorded in 1-take! My hands ache just watching you!
Nice touch with the black nail polish. đ
Great playing man
Amazing, loved the nails
I think it's cool to hear it without the delay just for the sake of learning the basic structure. You can always add the delay once you have it down. Thanks for the demo!
Thank you for posting! Saw live version of Nuno playing it, half the pick strokes were missing :D Ooooooooooh it's delay.
hey mike i just wanted to say i love your nails!
đ€Ł1:44 that emoji was perfect!
The black fingernails was a nice touch. Great video.
The big exhale is my favorite part...great job.
First off, you're playing my all time favorite guitar that I have never owned.. great playing as always but I have to say the black nail polish was a nice touch.. :)
Great stuff!
I had no idea! Well I have that pedal and have loved that tune for years. I will be trying that tomorrow.
Kick ass playing man!
I enjoy the stuff you put out. Iâm nowhere as skilled as you enjoy learning.
Great job. Without delay has a couple areas that made me laugh. I love musical humor. đžâ€đ
When I was 13, I was obsessed with Extreme II Pornograffitti. I still remember listening to it on the headphones in the living room and feeling like I was being transported into another world. I always thought the Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee was this extraordinary feat of musicianship. Hearing you play it without the delay pedal, it sounds like something I could play. I'd have to work on it, but it sounds doable!
amazing. Well done !
Great work man... Takes lots of stamina to keep up that pace.
The nail polish was a nice tribute touch. Thanks for the video
Should show the settings on delay pedal in the corner
Very cool to see the A/B compare, and, damn, u can play anything it seems!
This is so Extreme-ly useful.
Sounds great both ways!
I've always wondered this and now I know. Thank you, good sir.
Awesome! đ€đœ
Sounds awesome. A lesson on this including delay settings would be cool.
Nice Playing đ€đŻđ€
Love Extreme! My hand hurt just watching you play this!
That was great! Thanks!
Cool. Thanks for an idea.
This puts a smile on my face.
Both are Crazy Sickđ€đ€
I have been looking for a Nagel design Gunslinger for years. One that is OKish and that I could afford. Love your content, thanks for all the hard work. Cheers, MC
Metal Lord's brought out the nail ink I see.
đ€đ€đ€
.. that darn bee tho got me dodging nothing out here đ
great vidđ
Wow!!! I wouldn't even try to play that without delay or heavy distorted gain. I used to play everything on a classical guitar. But that? Good job man. Now i know what I'm doing tonight đ€
Same here bud, after seeing that , I will own this tonight!!
nice nails ;-) black is beautiful. nice delay
Awesome ! Just shows timing has to be spot on for it to work .
Wow, memories of grade nine! I'm not an effects guy so I never have any idea if a delay has been thrown in, thanks for the demo.
love the painted nails!!
I get it now. The secret to great playing is.........black nail polish. đ
We need some Vito Bratta licks from you now.
LOL at the black nail varnish, just like Nuno! :)
Thanks for totally de-mystifying that awesome track. đđźđȘâïž
Glad you ended it with the chords, PERFECT
Excellent!
When I first heard Nunoâs opening riff for âWarheadsâ
I was amazed. It sounded huge.
After while, listening to the entire album âThree Sides to Every Storyâ it really showcases his all around skill
III Sides is a masterpiece for me. A truly underated gem.
@@MiguelXisto1 so underrated
Wow now it's just the 3rd version left to do, sounding like the first version without using the delay pedal. For that I think you need to give Paul Gilbert a call đ.
But great video as always đ
Wow, so THATâs why it was always so hard for me to play the song: I was trying to play the delayed version with no delay. Seriously. Cool vid, thanks.
Nice touch with the black nails lol
I LOVE this instrumental! Nuno is under rated as a guitar player
Even got Nuno's black fingernails! Nice cover.
Very cool!
even got the black nailpolish. nice ;) NUNO RULES!
AWESOME!
When this came out, I was obsessed with playing it, but I couldn't afford a delay pedal.
I used to record myself with my PC, and then duplicated the track with a 300ms delay. That did the job!
Love the Volume 4 tee!! đ€đ€
Great job, exellent technic. How about the intro to "Mutha Don't Wanna Go To School Today" that for me, is the guitar moment!!
