Recorded on Wednesday, April 13th, 2022. This is a video of Pleasant Grove's Thunderbolt 1000T running manual tests. This siren is a 3 phase model (1000AT). This siren's chopper terminal level is on 7, but is running on 208V. GSPiedmont425 and I manually activated this siren with permission from the VFD. The RCM1 is wired wrong so we can't run it on a siren timer and messed up the switches on the RCM1 as well. So, we manually set off this siren. After running this siren, the fire chief called his volunteer firefighter at the VFD to say to us "that's enough with the siren" because the neighbors were getting confused about this siren going off for a while and the some of the neighbors called the fire chief. The VFD prefers us doing a siren set off on a weekend when the fire chief is at the VFD. This siren may have been originally from Durham, NC's old Civil Defense siren system. This siren was used for fire calls. This siren is not active but still hooked up to power. This siren's blower is actually a 5M, not a 6M.
Siren: Mid or Late 1950's Thunderbolt

Chopper terminal level 7 on 208V
Series A2
Blower: 5M
This siren is located at North Eastern Alamance VFD (3847 NC 49, Burlington, NC 27217).

Wow, nice video! Cool to see another 4/5 in working condition!
Never too old to kick ass.
Nice!! Another good 4/5!
Sounds smooth
Great!
If it’s a 5M from the 50s like said in the description it’s from the late 50s as 5Ms didn’t come out until 1959. Nice Video Of This Beautiful 4/5 Port Thunderbolt!
The blower ID tag does say it was manufactured from "Chicago, IL". Which I think the blower was manufactured before 1957.
@@TrainsAndSirens1 hm that’s weird
@@TrainsAndSirens1 can you send me a picture in messenger?
@@EastDetroitMusic-Sirens3000A Sent. Sorry I didn't know that you're James S again.
@@TrainsAndSirens1 it's 1958. The 5m was first introduced in 1958 and the serial number is from that era
This is a certified P50 classic
Do you have your model 5s hook up if so can you do a 5 duo?
How old is that Thunderbolt?
Looks old but sounds great!
Makes sense cuz it was from the 50s
Yeah.
Growl is sick
Cool
What was Durham’s civil defense siren system comprised of?
4/5 thunderbolts
Battle Creek vibes
Weird question but have you thought about mini sirens?
I've looked online at mini sirens before. I already have the real sirens.
Awesome response
This sounds like a hurricane but a little bit high pitched
That's exactly what I thought 🔊
This is 4/5, Hurricanes are 8/10. So they're basically the same, the Hurricane is just twice as high pitched.
@@ArxCyberwolfPC hurricane’s 8/10
4 x 2 = 8
5 x 2 = 10
In total it’s 8/10.
That's... what I just said. The Hurricane is twice as high pitched because it has twice the port ratio.
@@ArxCyberwolfPC its mainly for other people :p
can you 4/5 swap the 1003?
It's a 1000T dude.
@@averyrocks026 *he has a 1003*
Yes.
Ahhhhhh, yes! Us kids just love playing with new toys............🤔🤣🤣😨😱❗

Is this still in service or was this a special request?
Read the description
@@MasenMonster i did
@@CycloneJoey518 Then you should’ve seen that it was a special request and it’s not active.
Sorry, i didn't read all of it
TORNADO!
Bolty
I have a feeling that this is an Ex-1003
It’s not
If it was Ex-1003 it would have the tall rotator box, this one was manufactured before 1003's came out.
its not cause 1003s didnt come stock with 4/5 port.
And sound like aca hurricane
But Thunderbolt in Bit nice😊
Something, Brown
😊😊😊
You as me I heck you
Now I feel jealous.
You’re not alone.
Welcome to my world lmao
I do too. AND IT’S IN REACH, LIKE 50 MINUTES AWAY AND NO ONE TELLS ME ABOUT THIS STUFF
@@SNIXC I only have a 4/5 Port Thunderbolt 6 Miles away from house. So.
