  • I take down a monster 32" Aspen Tree with the new JonCutter G5800 Chainsaw, and it cuts thru it like butter.
    I'm waiting for the Cabin Foundation materials, so I use my free time clearing the last few big tree's that need to come down before I start building.

    Just a kind suggestion. Looks like the fell cut on second tree went too low. Fell cut should be made inch or two above where the notch cuts meet. That way holding wood bends before it starts to break and it steers the tree longer. Also safer leave more holding wood and use wedges to fell the tree.
    Alright, be safe.

    I've been hearing so many positive things about these saws that I ordered a G5800 a week ago, and am waiting for for it to show up here in WI so I can compare it to my other saws.

      I've had the G5800 for 3 months so far, and I just got back from another week of putting it to work and it is still performing flawlessly. For the power/weight of the saw it seems like it is going to be a great firewood saw. I hope yours works aswell as mine!

      Mines on board the big bird now crossing over the pond inbound for JFK. It will go well with it's little brother the Jon Cutter G2500. I'm impressed with the power and what the G5800 can do. I probably would of used my Stihl, 45AV with the 36" bar on that big one but you got it done! Great job and video and good luck with your new cabin and home site! :)

    I've had the 5800 for a couple of months now. Filled my ranger and 3/4 ton with wood. It runs good. I switched up chain to .325 with 18" bar. I have bigger saws and wanted a medium one. With a sharp chain it worth the price. Easy price. I did order a new cover along with the paper pleated filter. The filter it comes with doesnt keep the dust out. The new paper one seems to be to be working great so far. Time will tell.

      Thanks, every tree I cut I get a little better at getting it drop where I was wanting it to. I need to remember to always bring my wedges with me, especially on the bigger trees. Thanks for watching!

    I just purchased the g2500 and can’t wait for it to arrive. May consider one of these if my MS311 ever dies on me. Your low idle sounds a bit too high, no? Top end sounds great though and seems to pull the chain nicely.

      My brother has the g2500 and he likes it, its great to carry around on the atv. Ever since I switched from 25:1 to 40:1 I havent got the carb adjusted right, Ive made a few minor adjustments, I'll try the low idle.

    What size bar are you using? It looks like it's pulling that chain pretty good.

    • @OffGridFreedom
      @OffGridFreedom  Před 4 lety +2

      I'm running a 20" bar, I'm considering moving up to a 22" as it seems like its got enough power to run a bigger one.
