  • This is the chainsaw and bar and chain that I used in the video. There not a recommended match but I just want something a little longer to use just a couple times of the year to get through thicker logs and possible use in an small Alaskan chain saw mill. I did need to drill an oil port hole in the bar to like up with the oil port on the chain saw body. It was a 5 minute job. Anyone with a drill can do it.

That saw is the Echo knock-off through Farmertec.

I've got the same bar. Isnt it a large mount? Do the oil ports line up? I've got the bar on a 372xp since it is a large mount

I did drill a new hole so it would line up.

Hello i just bought the G5800 stupid me no bar and chain! Ha. could you please give me a part number for a bar and chain. I can not find one. 18” would be fine for me. What kind of mount is the G5800? I don’t know.

Have you tried milling any wood with the Alaskan mill yet?
I can only cut 14” with the 20” bar. I might try your setup and get 18”.

I was curious if this saw would run a 24 any mods?

I had to drill a new hole in the larger bar so it would line up with the oil port on the saw.

I had to drill a new oil hole in the bar so it would like up with the one in the saw.

So if i ran a 24 inch bar on mine it wouldn't hurt the motor anything?

@tuswm1 My bar now has a 22-inch, but the chain doesn't like staying on

I would return that cheap made saw before it melts down and leaves you feeling like a moron for buying it !! Remember folks you get what you pay for !!!!!!! Those saws are junk ,cheap engineered and cheaply put togeater =junk
