Honestly, not been this excited about the DC universe since Man of Steel. I want to know what they’re planning so bad. I’m happy that they announced their Superman film with Henry Cavill - so wondering what the kind of tone they’ll be aiming for but that should give us a good idea.
They should have chosen Snyder.
We gotta get a James Gunn directed Lobo movie, that is just too perfect of a match to not happen, I’m so happy to hear this because after what he did with Suicide Squad and (To a lesser extent) Peacemaker I’ve really been dying to know if James Gunn was gonna do more DC projects, so to hear that he’s becoming one of the heads of DC is awesome

Feige is a producer who has an overall plan - he oversees other producers and film makers so they don’t go too much one way or the other. Gunn is a great film maker but still needs someone to reign him in - as most film makers.

Peacemaker was damn good. I can’t even imagine what a Superman movie could be.
What I'm most excited about is that this most likely means the end of all those stupid rules that was holding back DC TV shows. So we could potentially see a live action Batman on TV again.
Given how awful Batman looked in the Gotham series finale, I hope they keep it in place.

As a James Gunn fan…I think Peter Safrin is a good teammate for him as well. I’m very excited about this. Gunn just gets it when it comes to the comic book film/tv content. DC Studios is headed in a great direction. I love it.
It appears that they can work really well together as Safran produced Suicide Squad and Peacemaker. Just based off those two properties it seems like Safran has no issues letting Gunn do his thing creatively and just focusing and ensuring production is smooth. I hope they continue to knock it out of the park.

in regards to less james gunn for Marvel, I was under the impression he was done with the MCU after GOTG v3.
as to him taking over the DCEU, this could be good, wonder if we'll seeing same space based stuff in the DCEU.

Just what I said months ago, WB needed to make a committee of 2-3 people to run out DCU, I really love that Feige can do it alone, its a whole lot of work, but really glad they're in the right direction.

To be fair to Alan Horn, within the policies and guidelines of Disney with a focus on family-friendly entertainment, he probably did what he thought was expected from him by firing Gunn. He just did it wrong.
At WB, they've made it clear that their target market is adults, and they have no problem being slightly cringy. Horn is a businessman - he couldn't care less about moral values but take policies very seriously.

Yea Gunn is fine his take on dc isn’t my favorite but he does know how to get shit done like look at all the stuff the dudes doing and he does have the basic understanding of the characters which is nice 😂 but also seems to have this like crazy knowledge of obscure characters while also doing crazy research into stuff which I like. I do think having Gunn there creates some sort of security feeling since the whole batgirl situation and all the cancellations on the platform and removal of stuff to save money and I’m guessing he’ll act as some sort of creative magnet for directors and writers coz he is well liked in Hollywood. I probably would’ve personally swapped the safran out for that other dude Dan Lin since he also seem to know his DC shit

I'm really looking forward to see what James Gunn is going to do with the entire DC universe. At this point it seemed like Aquaman 2 and The Flash were possible endpoints for this set of heroes and actors but after The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker and Black Adam we are still going to be in this universe started by Man of Steel but it is going to be different. Outside of Peacemaker season 2 I am curious to see what movies Gunn will direct and what characters he will introduce. Kind feels like Shazam! and The Suicide Squad can be considered the new starting points for this universe and kinda just acknowledging that similar stuff that happened in all the other movies technically happened but that will all be in the past now.
Now I'm excited

It's definitely interesting to hear both of them being the heads of DC media. I'd be curious to see if them making R-rated content (James Gunn doesn't shy away from making R-rated stuff) compels Marvel to finally make R-rated content even though some of the stuff Marvel has already made and has coming up really should be R-rated. I'm definitely interested to see what DCEU 2.0 is going to be like under them, and what other sorts of things we're gonna get DC related.

IMO, James Gunn’s wacky humour doesn’t fit well with Superman. There have been rumours regarding JJ Abrams making a Superman movie, which might be possible since his dear friend, Matt Reeves, made The Batman.
