True ! 6 month after 1 time watching, i still cant get Arcane out of my head
As someone who's played league for years, it was really jawdropping to see this. It was almost like a thank you from the game studio to the gamers for being with them for all those years. I also liked that this show was not an advertisement for the game, but was made by incredibly talented people with a goal to create a masterpiece for everyone to enjoy. I greed 100% with all your points : D
I was completely blown away! This is one of those shows we'll come back to in 20 years and talk about how groundbreaking it was for animation and video game adaptations. It makes me so happy that die hard league fans enjoyed it as much as those of us who aren't as familiar with the game.

A big reason that the game doesn't matter to non-gamers is that League of Legends is a MOBA. (Massive Online Battle Arena.) The characters, called champions, are the toons you control in the online competition. What RIOT did that was over and above the call of duty was to create lore and bio's for all of these champions, giving a backstory to the game's locations and characters. The lore is deep as the ocean, so the threads of the show could go forever if the creators so wished. That lore has also been retconned and altered as the game has evolved making it better and more accessible outside of the "game".
What makes Arcane so special for both gamers and non is that it is more or less a prequel to much of the ingame "current day" lore. This makes it completely accessible as the game itself tells no stories. The lore is just 'chef's kiss' for the gamers.
An interesting bit about this lore and such is that Arcane is stuffed to the brim with easter eggs for the gamers. A non-player won't notice OR be bothered by this stuff as it means nothing to them. To the gamers watching, it is like a love letter to the community underneath a brilliantly executed series.
@@caseyjp1 thanks for all the info! I did a bit of a dive into some of the lore and significance of certain characters. Absolutely loved learning how the creators of the show chose to create a link between Vi and Jinx. And i saw there is also a fighting game in development too. Which Absolutely has my interest!

Agree 100%, I've enjoyed other shows more. (only due to them being comedically based) I have never loved/felt a show more in my 43 years on the planet. If you think you "sound like an addict" you'd think I am an absolute junkie.........because I can't stop watching it or watching media based on it.
Absolutely! I never expected a show based on a videogame to end up being on the short list of best shows I've ever seen. It was an absolute triumph in both what video game adaptations can be and how far you can push animation! Glad you enjoyed it as well!

No shit man! It's right up there for me, right along side Band of Brothers, Sopranos, The Wire...
It's possible they could ruin it in the future, but I can't think of another show that even comes close to telling such a perfectly-constructed, ridiculously-compelling narrative. The gorgeous animation, amazing music, incredible voice acting, etc. are just icing on the cake.
I'm always nervous for any shows 2nd season. But I'm really hopeful that they have a plan for where they want to take the show. Here's hoping season 2 is awesome!
