Best trilogy when it comes to Dreamworks. The second one made me shed a tear not even gonna lie. This one too! When Stoick tells hiccup heâs proud to call him his son. That one did it for me. My dad left when I was 7 years old so that line definitely hit hard
for me personally this is the LOTR of animated movies

28:42 This change of mimic is such an underrated yet central part of the movie, Astrid realizes how serious hiccup is. In general these small and short expressions in their faces over the movie really make the story so emotional and believable, Astrids look of disappointement rather than anger or mocking after the first battle or Stoics shock in his face after yelling at hiccup for not telling him the truth make their change of mind later on so so much more authentic
Hiccup injured Toothless when he shot him down. If you remember the opening scenes during the dragon raid on the village, Toothless is flying and shooting perfectly fine on his own. Those back tail fins help him steer and make sharp turns, so having one ripped off means heâs completely off balance and canât really steer himself. Also, Toothless and Hiccup are the same age. Young but not a baby.
This film is incredible, I honestly canât think of a single word in the script, scene in the whole story or score in the soundtrack that doesnât belong exactly where it is, and the way everything comes full circle with lines like âyou just gestured to all of meâ and astrids âthatâs for kidnapping me, and thatâs for everything elseâ becoming âthatâs for scaring me, and thatâs for everything elseâ and how by the end of the film, without each other hiccup is a crippled Viking and toothless is a flightless dragon, but when together theyâre so unstoppable they can take on any threat
The way that Hiccup & Toothless evolved in this trilogy is so awesome!

I will whole heartedly say this trilogy beats all others
The short version of what Iâm trying to say:
TL;DR: The first tv show in this franchise (Riders/Defenders Of Berk to Race To The Edge) as well as all the short films are really good and I would really like it if you would react to them or at least watch it on your own time if youâre not gonna react to it on camera. I would really like to see more creators reacting to this show.
The long version:
This franchise has 3 movies and 3 different tv seriesâs as well as 2 Christmas themed short films, two non-Christmas short films and one short film that basically looks like a tv show episode. And while the two newer tv seriesâs are trash I would (depending on how much you enjoyed the movie/s) âhighlyâ recommend you to check all of the 5 seasons of the original tv series (Dragons: Riders Of Berk Season 1, Dragons: Defenders Of Berk Season 2 and Dragons: Race To The Edge Season 3 to 5 (RTTE has itâs own season count of season 1 to 6 since itâs much bigger than riders and defenders.)) as well as the short films preferably (for us) on CZcams and/or Patreön but if you donât want to at least alone off cam because even though there isnât that many people who watched the tv show after the movie/s itâs really good! Though my guess to why so many people never watched it is probably because they think itâs for children and for children only even though itâs for about the same audience as the movies.
In my personal opinion I would rank Dragons: Race To The Edge at about the same height as the first movie if not even higher and then Defenders, then Riders, then the first Christmas short film, than the sequel and then the other short films and then the threequel. Though opinions may differ.
Also RTTE really picks up after season 1 of RTTE.
And Dragons: Rescue Riders is a kids show and Dragons: The Nine Realms is so bad that you canât even tell who the intended audience is because unless youâre a braindead 4 year old youâll probably stop watching after the first episode because of how poorly written, designed and animated everything is. I think almost everyone ranks Rescue Riders and 9 Realms at the bottom of their tier list.
Though I personally would really REALLY like seeing more people reacting to at least D:RTTE if nothing else since there is so many reactions to the movies but so little reactions to the tv series. Of course each individual episode isnât as high quality as the movies because obviously they needed to pump out more episodes in a shorter amount of time compared to the movies where they had more time to produce an over an hour long movie. But the story, plot, narrative, characters and music are all still really good in the tv series. Also Fishlegs, Sir Snotsalot and The Nuts are all relevant main characters in the series. You also learn how the All the vikings learn to integrate dragons into their society and how for example Hiccup gets is flight suit or his flame sword. The only thing that tanked more heavily is the quality of the visuals but it gets much better in RTTE and itâs never so bad you canât watch it. Itâs still really good. Itâs just much much worse compared to the movies. The tv show has over 100 episodes that are all over 20 minutes long. Also the show has really good villains and they get better every time they introduce a new one. And the villains from the show are much much better than the ones in the movies. In summary, The movies have beautiful animations and scenery while the tv shows have much better character writing and world building.
I probably will or already have reused this comment under other newer HTTYD reactions in hopes of getting someone to start a reaction series for the Dragons tv series wich is why I put so much effort into writing it. Also I donât know how to make this comment shorter while still being able to make my point.
I would enjoy you (or anyone) reacting to the tv series but if ya donât then thatâs your choice. I canât blame you. I can only give it my best shot to convince you or anyone whoâs reading this to give it a shot but if ya donât then ya donât it ainât the biggest deal in the whole world.
You definitely have to finish the trilogy all of these movies were great.
Probable the longest running book adaptation on movies 3, the 3 tv series.

Kind of related but also not really, birds and dinosaurs are in the same family. Dragons and dinosaurs are both reptiles, but even though one is fictional (the dragons) they are too different to be in the same family as dinosaurs. Birds are a specific class of avian dinosaur, so that makes birds reptiles in a strange way. They are more intelligent reptiles I guess. But short answer is no, dinosaurs and dragons are both reptiles but not in the same family if dragons ever existed.
Dinosaurs and Dragons are not related. Dragons are legendary and mythical creatures. Dinosaurs are closely related to birds and crocodilians.

I usually adore your videos but this one was a tough watch - mainly because of the very obvious jump cuts mid sentence on many of the scenes. Kept taking me out of the reaction. Shame because I love this movie and your channel.
