However I love to share my opinion on these matters since I often think muslims aren't represented the way I'd represent myself.

Most women start to wear the Hijab when they hit puberty because It is really no reason
for a little kid to wear it since she has probably not hit puberty yet. And the thing I'm confused about is that why do some muslim women wear the Hijab and some don't?
I mean I know why they don't wanna wear It maybe cause they are not ready but It isn't a law in Islam that women should wear the Hijab. Or is it? I don't really know...

However, do not fight them near Al-Masjid-ul-Harām (the Sacred Mosque in Makkah) unless they fight you there. However, if they fight you (there) you may kill them. Such is the reward of the disbelievers.
Surah 9:5 Then, when the sacred months have passed, kill the polytheists wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them at every ambush. But if they repent, and maintain the prayer and give the zakāt, then let them alone. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful.

@John J Hi. hope you are good.
I wanted to help clarify your misconceptions. If only instead of cherry-picking verses and phrases, you'd try looking into the context, it'll help understand the meaning and the reason.
For example, for the first verse you mentioned:
      1. These verses refer to the battle of Uhud.
The previous verses referred to Allah Almighty as the best of helpers'; recounted here are some incidents of Allah's help.
The word, سلطان sultan, rendered here as 'authority' includes all revealed or rational bases of their position. The promise of casting awe and fear into the hearts of the disbelievers in this verse was made in the back-ground of the battle of Uhud when the disbelievers of Arabia marched back to Makkah without any obvious reason and in-spite of defeat overtaking Muslims (Baydawi). However, after having covered a certain distance on their way to Makkah, they awoke to their folly. When they thought of marching back to Madinah, Allah Almighty filled their hearts with such awe and fear that they could not muster the courage to do so. The most they could do was to hire a Madinah-bound villager to go there and tell Muslims that they were coming back. But, this whole deal came into the knowledge of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in Madinah through revelation. He marched to Hamra' al-Asad to apprehend them but they had already run away from there.
This was the background in which the present verse was revealed.
The verses that follow recount, as pointed out earlier, Allah's help and support for Muslims in the battle of Uhud.
So you see, there is a whole story behind this verse. This is just a small part of it.

    • @maq-ister
      @maq-ister Před rokem

@John J verse Surah 2:191, as mentioned in a website:
This is probably the most misquoted verse from the Quran. To properly understand the verse, we need to put it into context. Misquoting verses and taking them out of context can be applied to any scripture. For example, in the Bible, Jesus says, “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword!” (Matthew 10:34). He also says, “But as for these enemies of mine who did not want me to be their king-bring them here and slaughter them in my presence!” (Luke 19:27). And Moses says, “The Lord is a man of war, the Lord is his name.” (Exodus 15:3). For more details, see the Introduction.
The fighting (qital) mentioned here refers to that which took place during the life of the Prophet Muhammad. The Prophet’s Makkan opponents, not content with just expelling the Prophet and his companions from Makkah, their hometown, also prevented them from living and working peacefully in the neighbouring town of Yathrib (Madinah) where they had gone to settle. Without any provocation, they repeatedly attacked the Muslims who then had to fight in self-defence. When aggression has already been committed by opponents, believers are obliged to defend themselves. Initiating hostilities is not permitted for Muslims. Only defensive war is permitted in Islam. Even defensive war has to be openly declared by an established state.

I think they misinterpreted the word hijab. It isn't just the head covering, it isn't just modest dressing. It is about respecting others and treat them equally, have full submission to Allah, and to show this submission to the society. And so, so much more. Interestingly the term for covering is not hijab but khimar. Khimar originates from the word to cover, hide:
“Let them (believing women) wear their Khimar over their juyub” which is their chest. From this verse we understand that women are instructed by Allah SWT to wear the Khimar and to then drape it over their chests. At the time of Holy Prophet (swas) women tended to wear khimar - a piece of cloth to cover their hair, in similar fashion like nowadays dubata. So hair was already part of the covering. Allah only told women to extend the covering by pressing the surface of fabric to the surface of chin and cover the chest. This covering is the kind of 'hijab' we see today on muslim women.
Hijab isn't mentioned in the Quran, true, but it is told in the surah Al-Ahzab, verse 59: “O PROPHET, TELL YOUR WIVES AND YOUR DAUGHTERS AND THE WOMEN OF THE BELIEVERS TO BRING DOWN OVER THEMSELVES [PART] OF THEIR OUTER GARMENTS. THAT IS MORE SUITABLE THAT THEY WILL BE RECOGNISED AND NOT BE ABUSED. AND EVER IS ALLAH FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL.”
The wives, daughters and believers. Are you a believer? SubhanAllah, then you must cover.
One lady said that she wants to be a good muslim from inside and then to expend it to outside and that is why she doesn't cover. I believe it is same thing if you say that it is a choice to pray. So you don't pray because you want to be first a good muslim from inside then then extend it to your actions and actually pray.
    That isn't how it works.
Also, the hijab isn't originally for women. It was first mentioned to be for men: “Say to the believing men that they restrain their eyes and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Surely, Allah is well aware of what they do.” (surah an-nur, verse 31)
An example of this was when the Prophet rode with his companion Al Fadl bin Abbas. A woman described as strikingly beautiful approached the Prophet to seek his guidance on some religious matters. Al Fadl began to stare at her because of her beauty. The Prophet Muhammad did not scold the woman for dressing immodestly or revealing her beauty. Instead, he “reached his hand backwards, catching Al Fadl’s chin, and turned his face to the other side so that he would not gaze at her”. Thus, the Prophet Muhammad once more established that the primary burden to observe hijab rests on men.
But all of this is forgotten because of the fact that we only call covering the head as hijab.

SHORT-TEMPERED, LOUD which I personally think that I havetofix first before wearing it. I kept thinking that I have to correct my character, put much modesty and hayyah in it. Where it led me? NOTHING MUCH but WORSE than that. But the moment that I came to realization that I am not changing at all that the problem is how I think, I asked people whom I know that wore Niqab about their thoughts, prayed and did some research. And Allah helped me end my decision when a friend told me about this: "Once you wore a niqab out of trend, insecurity, or feeling out of place but wore it because of faith then you will In Shaa Allah keep yourself on guard. You are very loud, that laughs where everyone could hear it, short-tempered? In Shaa Allah, what you wear will help you ease those characters, it serves as a reminder to you. You will come to the moment that you'll notice small sins and asking forgiveness to Allah will always follow. See it yourself the difference.
Ps: I am not suggesting that one should wear a niqab. It is what I am currently in, and relating it to every Muslim's obligation, which to cover up their Awrah eg. Wearing the Hijab.

And I totally agree with you about covering up because it's about Allah. What we really wear gives us a reminder of who we represent ourselves. You wear a hijab/niqab/jilbab because of your faith (not because it's the trending and afraid of being left out by the crowd) then In Shaa Allah you will be also wearing such Hayyah with you, you will be reminded how a Muslimah is. In terms of dealing with struggles, In Shaa Allah, with what your niyyah is is how you will deal with the struggles. Once your niyyah of wearing the hijab/niqab/jilbab is about Allah, then you will think of every struggle as a test that In Shaa Allah you will overcome.
Keypoints: The importance of what you wear and the importance of having a good niyyah.
Ps: I am not suggesting that one should wear a niqab. It is what I am currently in, and relating it to every Muslim's obligation, which to cover up their Awrah eg. Wearing the Hijab.
      Wassalam.

@@Lica_the_Pui hi I just read your comment and I just need to correct something just for everyone else reading this. Hijab is mandatory in Islam for women and by Hijab I mean the covering of certain body parts not just the hair. And since it is a command in Islam if a woman chose to follow it she of course get rewarded. That doesn't mean that she is better or worse than other women. Like she said in the video it is a command from God and he gave you the option to follow it or not but he also said their is consequences( reward if you follow and punishment if you Don't) and that applies to every command in Islam not just the hijab. So yes a hijabi woman isn't necessarily better than a non hijabi in general. But of course there is a difference same as two Muslims who live in the west surrounded by drinking culture one gave in and drank and one fought it and didn't drink. It doesn't mean one is better than the other generally but of course god will reward the one who despite the temptations followed his command.

Thank you for this video sister. When you mentioned the deception of iblees when people think they are not worthy of following Allah's SWT commands, i realized this firsthand on my journey to wear the headscarf. There was a point in my life that i really wanted to wear it but everytime i told myself i would i ended up not doing so just because someone told me i should (they didn't know i was already going to). I thought that if i wore it that day, people would think i wore it for that person and not for the right reasons, not for Allah SWT. So i didn't and i waited some more. This happened a few times until i finally realised, why should i care how others precieve my decision, I know and Allah SWT knows, that should be enough. If others want to take credit then let them, it will not harm me. I realised then how subtle the deceptions of iblees goes... he can even corrupt your good intentions by planting these seeds of doubt in your mind to confuse you and make you think your decision is better for you when it is actually not.

@John J john..babe, you need help. all u did was copy and paste. the first surah u sent was from the battle of Badr, & for the second surah, its so damn obvious u just skimmed sum negative and added it to my comment. do you know what came before that verse? clearly you don't.
It says : Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not trangress limits for Allah loves not the transgressors. (Quran 2:190) In the earlier verse it is very clearly stated to fight only those who attacks first. Then Allah says : And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. (Quran 2:191) Now, here's what comes afterwards: "And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Quran 2:192) "Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors." (Quran 2:193)
LASTLY, YOU ARENT FREAKING LOOKING AT THE DAMN CONTEXT!! you are just pickpocketing one line out of a randomly chosen surah, copy and paste it, and freaking comment abt it underneath my reply.
john, it's so obvious that you do not do your research. it is so obvious you searched up "bad Quran quotes abt killing disbelievers", copied it and pasted it under my comment. you do know that all info above is from research, and i made this reply to u in like 5 min. either ur a bot, or u just like spreading misinformation.
no, im not saying that Muslims do NOT kill disbelievers. some obviously do, bc they're doing the same thing as u-- not looking at the context. yes, those muslims are bad muslims, and i am not on their side at all. killing innocent people is terrible.

I just found you through twitter and I'm so glad I did. I love the way you explained your ideas, especially the one about Hijab being "a choice" because I struggle with explaining it too even though I understand it fairly well.
The question about women and men being "equal" - to me, Islam acknowledges those inherent differences and it shows in what we must and must not do as men and women... it shows in those very differences. And it's through those differences, those roles, and those acts, that we build a society together. The harmony is honestly beautiful. And no one is being wronged because, like you said, it's about justice, not equality. But Jubilee and the likes represent the ideas of an individual-oriented society. So they don't consider the harmony of living together or creating a society together, but rather make it almost like a competition. And if I understand correctly, that's where the struggle between feminists and their opposers comes from imo. Who deserves to be treated How. So they default to equality, while we know it's unfair for both genders! And like, I think ome has to consider that we were created by God, He knows us better than we know ourselves. So if we start delegating roles ourselves with a competitive mindset, it'll be a mess because no side can truly understand the other. But by obeying God, we know for a fact that we'll have jutice. It's things like that that make one realize that Islam is truly a blessing.
One last thing - the guy at the end saying that "if it were to him, inheritance would be 50-50". Oof. No sir. WE. DON'T. GET. TO. ARGUE. Like, not only is the inherence issue suuuuper complicated and takes into consideration many many relations and roles and all (definitely beyond my current knowledge level so I can't get into it) BUT ALSO. We know. That God is just. Even if something doesn't make sense to YOU, rest assured that we've been shown plenty of other examples of God's wisdom and justice so that we can accept that sometimes some things are beyond our understanding and that's okay. You can't just say "that doesn't sound okay to me so if I could, I'd change it." I'm hoping I misunderstood because that's... really not okay.
    { وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤۡمِنࣲ وَلَا مُؤۡمِنَةٍ إِذَا قَضَى ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُۥۤ أَمۡرًا أَن یَكُونَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِیَرَةُ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِمۡۗ وَمَن یَعۡصِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلࣰا مُّبِینࣰا }

This is true to an extent but most of the time when you have the blessings of your parents the marriage is better. This comes with experience. Secondly, your parents want what is the best for you and they know you better because they are your parents. You think you know you better but your parents were there when you were an infant and sees your inner personality. But, if I was your parent I would say go for it. Marry who you wish, with prayer and support insya Allah it will work. If it doesn't then perhaps listening to your parents might not be such a bad thing.

As a non-believer I really love your videos. I grew up in an Islamic country so the things you say are not strange to me. The reason I love your channel is because you speak very right and confident. What I mean by right is, the Quran is the sacred book and the main source for any Muslim individual. So if you claim that you believe in something, you have to behave like you believe in that. For example I can say that I am Muslim right now and I might live like a non-believer as many Muslims do. As I said I have an Islamic background so back when Í was younger, these are what I used to think either. You might belong to any religion and you cannot just interpret it as how it fits on you.

I started wearing hijab at around 9 years of age (so around grade 4) not thinking anything of it. But when I wore it to my first day of school (mind you I was feeling extra cool with it on 😂), I kind of dealt with a lot of bullying (people yanking my hijab off and things like that) and it really shocked my 9 year old self. I definitely was NOT ready for the burden of things like that happening to me, but I still stuck with it because I'm that type of person ✌. I feel that in my own opinion, we should educate the little muslim girls that at some point in their growth, they are going to start to wear hijab, but don't throw them or force them into it because though it is an obligation, there still needs to be education on the topic and understanding beforehand about the purpose of wearing it and since we live in a world where people are scared of anyone different, there should be mental prep involved especially for young kids. For example, you (person who made this video) probably educated yourself beforehand on meanings of hijab, purpose, and dealing with hate (since a lot of the time, hijab is what everyone sees when thinking of islam for some reason), etc so you would be 100% prepared to wear it when the time came. Hijab is such an important part of islam and it is literally the face of islam so education is key. I really wish I had been prepared for that before wearing something that clearly has such a deep meaning. I literally had ZERO conversation with my parents for something that was going to be an obligation I would have to live with for the rest of my life. I hated my hijab for a while because of it, but soon I started to look online about purposes of hijab, made friends who don't bully or hate me because of my hijab, and now I love my hijab and I wont take it off, but it low-key did terrified me as a kid, like I was literally scarred when it happened because I wasn't properly educated. 😂 (also off topic of hijab but about men unable to nurse, I've done a bit of research but some men are able to lactate and feed their child. Its very rare though. There is apparently proof of this from a tribe where men actually breastfeed called Republic Of Congo's Aka Pygmy tribe)

@John J Tafsir for the group of verses 3:149 to 3:153,
The Prohibition of Obeying the Disbelievers; the Cause of Defeat at Uhud
Allah warns His believing servants against obeying the disbelievers and hypocrites, because such obedience leads to utter destruction in this life and the Hereafter. This is why Allah said,
      إِن تُطِيعُواْ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَى أَعْقَـبِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُواْ خَـسِرِينَ
(If you obey those who disbelieve, they will send you back on your heels, and you will turn back (from faith) as losers) 3:149.
Allah also commands the believers to obey Him, take Him as their protector, seek His aid and trust in Him. Allah said,
      بَلِ اللَّهُ مَوْلَـكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ النَّـصِرِينَ
(Nay, Allah is your protector, and He is the best of helpers).
Allah next conveys the good news that He will put fear of the Muslims, and feelings of subordination to the Muslims in the hearts of their disbelieving enemies, because of their Kufr and Shirk. And Allah has prepared torment and punishment for them in the Hereafter. Allah said,
(We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allah, for which He sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the wrongdoers). In addition, the Two Sahihs recorded that Jabir bin `Abdullah said that the Messenger of Allah said,
(I was given five things that no other Prophet before me was given. I was aided with fear the distance of one month, the earth was made a Masjid and clean place for me, I was allowed war booty, I was given the Intercession, and Prophets used to be sent to their people, but I was sent to all mankind particularly.)
      Allah said,
      وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ
(And Allah did indeed fulfill His promise to you) 3:152,
in the beginning of the day of Uhud,
      إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُمْ
(when you were killing them), slaying your enemies,
      بِإِذْنِهِ
(with His permission), for He allowed you to do that against them,
      حَتَّى إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ
(until when you Fashiltum). Ibn Jurayj said that Ibn `Abbas said that Fashiltum means, `lost courage'.
      وَتَنَـزَعْتُمْ فِى الاٌّمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُمْ
(and fell to disputing about the order, and disobeyed) such as the mistake made by the archers,
      مِّن بَعْدِ مَآ أَرَاكُمْ مَّا تُحِبُّونَ
(after He showed you what you love), that is, victory over the disbelievers,
      مِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الدُّنْيَا
(Among you are some that desire this world) referring to those who sought to collect the booty when they saw the enemy being defeated,
      وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرِيدُ الاٌّخِرَةَ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ
(and some that desire the Hereafter. Then He made you flee from them, that He might test you).
This Ayah means, Allah gave them the upper hand to try and test you, O believers,
      وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنْكُمْ
      (but surely, He forgave you),
He forgave the error you committed, because, and Allah knows best, the idolators were many and well supplied, while Muslims had few men and few supplies.
Al-Bukhari recorded that Al-Bara' said, "We met the idolators on that day (Uhud) and the Prophet appointed `Abdullah bin Jubayr as the commander of the archers. He instructed them, `Retain your position, and if you see that we have defeated them, do not abandon your positions. If you see that they defeated us, do not rush to help us.' The disbelievers gave flight when we met them, and we saw their women fleeing up the mountain while lifting up their clothes revealing their anklets and their legs. So, the companions (of `Abdullah bin Jubayr) said, `The booty, the booty!' `Abdullah bin Jubayr said, `Allah's Messenger commanded me not to allow you to abandon your position.' They refused to listen, and when they left their position, Muslims were defeated and seventy of them were killed. Abu Sufyan shouted, `Is Muhammad present among these people' The Prophet said, `Do not answer him.' Then he asked, `Is the son of Abu Quhafah (Abu Bakr) present among these people' The Prophet said, `Do not answer him.' He asked again, `Is the son of Al-Khattab (`Umar) present among these people As for these (men), they have been killed, for had they been alive, they would have answered me.' `Umar could not control himself and said (to Abu Sufyan), `You lie, O enemy of Allah! The cause of your misery is still present.' Abu Sufyan said, `O Hubal, be high!' On that the Prophet said (to his Companions), `Answer him back.' They said, `What shall we say' He said, `Say, Allah is Higher and more Sublime.' Abu Sufyan said, `We have the (idol) Al-`Uzza, and you have no `Uzza.' The Prophet said, `Answer him back.' They asked, `What shall we say' He said, `Say, Allah is our protector and you have no protector.' Abu Sufyan said, `Our victory today is vengeance for yours in the battle of Badr, and in war (the victory) is always undecided and is shared in turns by the belligerents. You will find some of your killed men mutilated, but I did not urge my men to do so, yet I do not feel sorry for their deed."' Only Al-Bukhari collected this Hadith using this chain of narration. Muhammad bin Ishaq said that, `Abdullah bin Az-Zubayr narrated that Az-Zubayr bin Al-`Awwam said, "By Allah! I saw the female servants and female companions of Hind (Abu Sufyan's wife) when they uncovered their legs and gave flight. At that time, there was no big or small effort separating us from capturing them. However, the archers went down the mount when the enemy gave flight from the battlefield, seeking to collect the booty. They uncovered our back lines to the horsemen of the disbelievers, who took the chance and attacked us from behind. Then a person shouted, `Muhammad has been killed.' So we pulled back, and the disbelievers followed us, after we had killed those who carried their flag, and none of them dared to come close the flag, until then."' Muhammad bin Ishaq said next, "The flag of the disbelievers was left on the ground until `Amrah bint `Alqamah Al-Harithiyyah picked it up and gave it to the Quraysh who held it."

      @John J Allah said,
      ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ
(Then He made you flee from them, that He might test you) 3:152.
Al-Bukhari recorded that Anas bin Malik said, "My uncle Anas bin An-Nadr was absent from the battle of Badr. He said, `I was absent from the first battle the Prophet fought (against the pagans). (By Allah) if Allah gives me a chance to fight along with the Messenger of Allah, then Allah will see how (bravely) I will fight.' On the day of Uhud when the Muslims turned their backs and fled, he said, `O Allah! I apologize to You for what these (meaning the Muslims) have done, and I denounce what these pagans have done.' Then he advanced lifting his sword, and when Sa`d bin Mu`adh met him, he said to him, `O Sa`d bin Mu`adh! Where are you! Paradise! I am smelling its aroma coming from before (Mount) Uhud,' and he went forth, fought and was killed. We found more than eighty stab wounds, sword blows or arrow holes on his body, which was mutilated so badly that none except his sister could recognize him, and she could only do so by his fingers or by a mole." This is the narration reported by Al-Bukhari, Muslim also collected a similar narration from Thabit from Anas.
The Defeat that the Muslims Suffered During the Battle of Uhud
      Allah said,
      إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلاَ تَلْوُونَ عَلَى أحَدٍ
((And remember) when you (Tus`iduna) ran away dreadfully without casting even a side glance at anyone), and Allah made the disbelievers leave you after you went up the mount, escaping your enemy. Al-Hasan and Qatadah said that, Tus`iduna, means, `go up the mountain'.
      وَلاَ تَلْوُونَ عَلَى أحَدٍ
(without even casting a side glance at anyone) meaning, you did not glance at anyone else due to shock, fear and fright.
      وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِى أُخْرَاكُمْ
(and the Messenger was in your rear calling you back), for you left him behind you, while he was calling you to stop fleeing from the enemy and to return and fight.
As-Suddi said, "When the disbelievers attacked Muslim lines during the battle of Uhud and defeated them, some Muslims ran away to Al-Madinah, while some of them went up Mount Uhud, to a rock and stood on it. On that, the Messenger of Allah kept heralding, `Come to me, O servants of Allah! Come to me, O servants of Allah!' Allah mentioned that the Muslims went up the Mount and that the Prophet called them to come back, and said,
      إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلاَ تَلْوُونَ عَلَى أحَدٍ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِى أُخْرَاكُمْ
((And remember) when you ran away without even casting a side glance at anyone, and the Messenger was in your rear calling you back)." Similar was said by Ibn `Abbas, Qatadah, Ar-Rabi` and Ibn Zayd.
The Ansar and Muhajirin Defended the Messenger
Al-Bukhari recorded that Qays bin Abi Hazim said, "I saw Talhah's hand, it was paralyzed, because he shielded the Prophet with it." meaning on the day of Uhud. It is recorded in the Two Sahihs that Abu `Uthman An-Nahdi said, "On that day (Uhud) during which the Prophet fought, only Talhah bin `Ubaydullah and Sa`d remained with the Prophet."
Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib said, "I heard Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas saying, `The Messenger of Allah gave me arrows from his quiver on the day of Uhud and said, `Shoot, may I sacrifice my father and mother for you."' Al-Bukhari also collected this Hadith. The Two Sahihs recorded that Sa`d bin Abi Waqqas said, "On the day of Uhud, I saw two men wearing white clothes, one to the right of the Prophet and one to his left, who were defending the Prophet fiercely. I have never seen these men before or after that day." Meaning angels Jibril and Mika'il, peace be upon them.
Abu Al-Aswad said that, `Urwah bin Az-Zubayr said, "Ubayy bin Khalaf of Bani Jumah swore in Makkah that he would kill the Messenger of Allah . When the Messenger was told of his vow, he said, `Rather, I shall kill him, Allah willing.' On the day of Uhud, Ubayy came while wearing iron shields and proclaiming, `May I not be saved, if Muhammad is saved.' He then headed to the direction of the Messenger of Allah intending to kill him, but Mus`ab bin `Umayr, from Bani Abd Ad-Dar, intercepted him and shielded the Prophet with his body, and Mus`ab bin `Umayr was killed. The Messenger of Allah saw Ubayy's neck exposed between the shields and helmet, stabbed him with his spear, and Ubayy fell from his horse to the ground. However, no blood spilled from his wound. His people came and carried him away while he was moaning like an ox. They said to him, `Why are you so anxious, it is only a flesh wound' Ubayy mentioned to them the Prophet's vow, `Rather, I shall kill Ubayy', then commented, `By He in Whose Hand is my soul! If what hit me hits the people of Dhul-Majaz (a popular pre-Islamic marketplace), they would all have perished.' He then died and went to the Fire,
      فَسُحْقًا لاًّصْحَـبِ السَّعِيرِ
(So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire!) 67:11."
This was collected by Musa bin `Uqbah from Az-Zuhri from Sa`id bin Al-Musayyib.
It is recorded in the Two Sahih that when he was asked about the injuries the Messenger sustained in Uhud, Sahl bin Sa`d said, "The face of Allah's Messenger was injured, his front tooth was broken and his helmet was smashed on his head. Therefore, Fatimah, the daughter of Allah's Messenger washed off the blood while `Ali was pouring water on her hand. When Fatimah saw that the bleeding increased more by the water, she took a mat, burnt it, and placed the ashes in the wound of the Prophet and the blood stopped oozing out." Allah said next,
      فَأَثَـبَكُمْ غَمّاً بِغَمٍّ
(There did Allah give you one distress after another) 3:153,
He gave you grief over your grief. Ibn `Abbas said, `The first grief was because of the defeat, especially when it was rumored that Muhammad was killed. The second grief was when the idolators went up the mount and The Messenger of Allah said, `O Allah! It is not for them to rise above us."'

@John J `Abdur-Rahman bin `Awf said, "The first distress was because of the defeat and the second when a rumor started that Muhammad was killed, which to them, was worse than defeat." Ibn Marduwyah recorded both of these. Mujahid and Qatadah said, "The first distress was when they heard that Muhammad was killed and the second when they suffered casualties and injury." It has also been reported that Qatadah and Ar-Rabi` bin Anas said that it was the opposite order. As-Suddi said that the first distress was because of the victory and booty that they missed and the second because of the enemy rising above them (on the mount). Allah said,
      لِّكَيْلاَ تَحْزَنُواْ عَلَى مَا فَاتَكُمْ
(by way of requital to teach you not to grieve for that which had escaped you), for that you missed the booty and triumph over your enemy.
      وَلاَ مَآ أَصَـبَكُمْ
(nor for what struck you), of injury and fatalities, as Ibn `Abbas, `Abdur-Rahman bin `Awf, Al-Hasan, Qatadah and As-Suddi stated. Allah said next,
      وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
(And Allah is Well-Aware of all that you do.) all praise is due to Him, and thanks, there is no deity worthy of worship except Him, the Most High, Most Honored.
