- Lets Break it Down. Here is the fourth part of a series of pottery videos addressing how to pull the walls of a cylinder and really any pot on a potters wheel. Here are some do's and don'ts when throwing a pot on the wheel! Please watch them all when you need a few tips or a refresher!

I finally pulled a cylinder that was taller than 3 inches today!! Thank you!!
this (and your other beginner vids) has been so helpful to me in improving on pulling taller pots/better cylinders!
Seriously a great channel for covering basics for me, an overly confident new potter
I would just like to say how much your videos have helped me in my learning process.
I have taken a few classes and I haven't been able to pull my walls up very well.
I have now watched your series from centering to trimming many times. Today I followed them step by step while on the wheel.... I made my first cylinder today 🙈 I was so excited.
Then I went on to make 3 more (not so much a cylindrical 🤣) but I was able to open and pull my walls like I have never done before.
Please keep posting, loving watching you and I have shared your channel with other students in hopes that it may help them as well.
I also love the name of your channel.

Wow. Thanks so much! That’s really awesome to hear! Repetition is key. Stick with one shape over and over and over. ….yes and over again! You’ll hone that superpower!
LMK if there’s anything else you want to see. Always looking for new video ideas!!
Thank you!❤
Thank you so much! This has been so helpful along with your other videos 💕🙏🏼
I’d like to practice throwing more at home and not limit myself to studio hours. Do you have suggestions on a good pottery wheel I purchase for personal use at home? Thank you ☺️
Sorry for delay. Im a fan of the Shimpo Whisper Lites. They are durable, hold their value and great for beginners
I have taken 3 beginner classes and watch all your videos. But I can't seem to be able to pull a wall without causing a wabble!!!!😢 what am I doing wrong g?????
Couple of things to remember:
Keep your hands attached.
Keep at least one elbow on your thighs
Use finger tips not finger prints
and heres the hardest part: you have to move your hands at the same speed as the wheel and get one "touch" per revolution.
Hope that helps
@@MudgirlPottery thank you! Im so excited, I finally think I am catching on!!!
