    This has been the most helpful tutorial yet. A year into ceramics and I’m still intimidated by the wheel. I hopped back on a couple weeks ago and threw my first cylinder with meh results. But watching and listening to you had given me new insights. You’re a gifted teacher. Thank you!!😊

    Really helpful tutorial, thank you. I teach beginners and find that one of the largest stumbling block is double jointed fingers, ie, fingers that can bend in a backwards curve. They are common here. People with fingers like that really struggle with things like opening the floor and hooking the fingers with enough stability and strength. The inside fingers when pulling up is another trouble spot. How do you modify your teaching technique for people like that?

    My cylinders always end up bottom heavy…it’s difficult to gauge when I’m getting all of the clay up …only after it dries enough for me to pick it up..Any thoughts?

    • @MudgirlPottery
      @MudgirlPottery  Před rokem +1

      I often talk about the "corrective pull" That first pull should even out the clay so that from the VERY start your walls are consistent. Then you dont have to worry about the top being too thin because you didnt let up on the pressure. (and your bottom wont be so heavy!
