Here are a few 🚩 🚩🚩that immediately go up for me, although the whole website seems suspicious:
When you stimulate melanin production, you are basically tickling and stimulating your melanin producing cells, called melanocytes, to pump out pigment. In theory, you could overstimulate one of those cells in such a way that it encourages a tumor to form, such as melanoma. Until these sprays are rigorously tested for safety, it’s a hard pass for me.
Another red flag here: In the FAQ’s on the website, it says that using permatan will make your freckles LESS obvious as the surrounding skin gets darker. Whenever you get tan, your freckles typically get darker.
I’m also concerned about the delivery mechanism. The mucous membranes in your nose allow for absorption into the bloodstream, and puts you at risk for systemic side effects like nausea, hives and even fluctuating libido.

Just saw the ad on IG and my stomach twisted. Being half Latina, I wish I was a bit darker. However, the whole concept of spraying it up the nose is a 🚩 and I’m glad I found this video to ease my worry LOL 👍I’ll just deal with my pale skin haha
