This method is for SOILED floors. I do understand that there are buckets that separate clean and dirty water HOWEVER when the floors are this soiled you need a big bucket… so you’re not going back and fourth to the toilet with dirty water dumps.. this is a one dump method… its not ideal for everyone as it is a bit heavier… but if you have it in you… do this and spend less time back and fourth to the toilet dumping dirty water. I fill it outside the tub with my shower hose and push it over to where im mopping as it has wheels. We are all aware that there are steps we can take so it doesn’t get this bad HOWEVER we aren’t discussing that right now and if life is LIFEN we are gonna roll with punches and just handle it and here is a great method to do that.
People must have really gotten under your skin to have you be so defensive and feel the need to explain your post with an entire paragraph. Lol jesus. It's just the internet. There are people that appreciate the tips. Have a good day.
It’s a clever method to be honest. People are miserable and they find anything to complain about. Just anything! lol. No need to explain yourself and do your thang cleaning your house because it’s your house 💯❤️ One last thing, I bet you money half those people that are complaining about how you clean are the ones that got a nasty house with roaches twerking in they bathtub lol 😂😂
I absolutely LOVE how you don't put to much product in your cleaning water. So many people online us way to much product. I can imagine how sticky their floors are.
Omgosh I learned the hard way. My floors had this sticky waxy feeling, and looked dull. I had to mop with plain water, then let dry, and now going to repeat again because it still feels like stuff left behind days later. This video was very helpful.
I use a little dish soap with borax, then a little vinegar in the cleaning water. I get good results, but I wish I could find a spin mop made of all cotton. So I go over the floor again with all cotton mop cloths.
I once read a book written by a man who owned a professional office cleaning service, and he did this same method as well. Yes it takes longer, but it's keeping the cleaning solution CLEAN.
It doesn’t really take longer because if the floors are soiled and you only use one bucket then you’re going to find yourself spending a lot of time back and fourth to the toilet before your water is clear. So this method saves time but like I said In the pinned comments it’s definitely not for everyone as not everyone has the same mobility 💗💗💗
A Puerto Rican lady told me of the best (once a year ) methods for cleaning floors. Clean the most INSIDE part of your home towards the OUTSIDE . Next, mop from the outside to the inside . Then from the inside to the outside . Each mopping uses clean water. Really good, but a lot of work. The vibe in your house is... amazing. Similar results to this.
Lol that’s how I do it I use 3 buckets one rinse water other cleaning solution and the spin bucket for dirty water but everyone finds ways what works for them
Old school moms used vinegar. We never used chemicals on our floors. It’s too dangerous. They are not really clean if they are off gassing chemical ingredients & fragrances (also made from petroleum). Not negative, just another way to look at it. 😅
U have the idea right but the buckets backwards. Cleaning solution in plain bucket. Rinse in the bucket with the spinner!!! But yes this gets the floor the cleanest for sure
I did this in my barista days to deep clean the lobby floors. It works wonders!!! 💪 I love how you show that cleaning doesn’t have to be hard or that it’s only possible with too many tools/cleaners
I usually have 2 buckets; a rinsing bucket and the other with cleaning solution; then I use the wringing bucket for wringing only and my floors are SPOTLESS
Also, pre-vacuum. Or sweep, then vacuum. Also, inside shoes & outside shoes. Think Turkish or Japanese style. Keep the dirt out. Also, pay some $$$ for proper mats to wipe shoes and clean them regularly. But disregard everything I said if you have any of the following. Dogs, kids (including teens) and farm animals. Lol. Also, if the floor surface is worn or not properly maintained it is harder to keep things clean. Lastly, don't fret too much over spilled milk or dirty floors. Clean when you can, smile and enjoy what little spare time you have.❤ But yes, 2 🪣!! Best way!
As a Mexican and with a lot of dogs this does the trick!! Always use 2 mop buckets cause you don’t wanna mix in whatever the dogs bring inside or us as well. And the house always smells sooo good like it doesn’t smell like dirt mixed with cleaning solution
They have a spin mop that has two sections in the buckets for clean and dirty water it's really not much more than the original either maybe like 5 bucks more. The DG brand one is good too
20 years I've been doing my floors like this - it's fast and I think they're much cleaner with the rinse water bucket. If it gets to filthy- think twin toddler boys - you can change out just the rinse water bucket and not use more soap. Love this method! ❤
THANKS for the video. You are right. With wide open spaces that big bucket of water makes much more sense. I won’t buy the new spin bucket since they are quite small. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Nice. Just adding to be aware that what ever cleaner you use should be safe for pets. When they lick their paws they essentially consume these products and some can cause problems
This makes much more sense! Who cares what the haters say. This new fangled way of doing the spin mop is $15 more expensive but does nothing beneficial to the cleaner. You’re right, we need a totally separate bucket to catch the actual dirt. Bravo.
I do too and thought the same thing. Especially with how small the bucket for it is. It gets dirty so fast and makes the cleaning process take longer having to change out the water.
What about using a placing a dirt guard in the bottom of a round bucket (the dirt guard should trap the dirt under the dirt guard). Then use a spin bucket.
I have two for that. It’s so much faster mopping that way. If it gets mucky I use clean water in a bucket as well as the two spin buckets. Also you get two mops which is handy for when you put them in the washing machine
We use this method for watercolor paint! Of course there isnt cleaning solution in the clean water jar, but its so cool to see its useful for mopping and also painting
Im a housekeeper and have the Ocedar spin mop bucket with the clean water reservoir. Its about $15 more than the one here in the video. SO much better getting clean water everytime.
I hope O-Cedar just makes an updated model that includes a rinse bucket attached to the spin and clean dunk bucket. that would make the process a lot easier.
This is smart. I love the spin mop but I don’t know why they can’t make it so that when you ring out the mop it empties into a separate basin rather than back into the clean soapy water!
O ceder has a 2 in 1 combo bucket now with seperate chambers for clean and dirty water. Super hassle free. I'd definitely recommend for all the 2 bucket mop-ers out there.
100% yes to a rinsing bucket buuuuuuut. What if you swapped the dirty bucket to the spin bucket? That way the dirty sprays back into the dirty and the spun out mop goes clean into the cleaning solution instead of spinning dirty into the clean.
Girl, I love you. You made a really good video about mopping. That is my least favorite chore. It's the chore I avoid. I'll clean dishes. I will scoop the litter box. I'll do a lot. I will organize until hell comes but now you've made it to where mopping isn't terrible and you know what you are beautiful and a goddess for giving out. Just information to help. Thank you so much
i dont know anything about cleaning products but that seems like a bad idea. they are probably really concentrated but if they even used more than 1 tide pod that be really really bad i assume. because i suspect 1 amount wise would be more than enough for a whole apartment. but that seems like a terrible idea. yes they tide and floor cleaner are both kind of soap in a way that they both clean. but the materials are different. like you wouldnt use something for marble as or a tub vs dirty prescription glasses. or a marble table vs rough concreate floor with a rag for both.
I use the same method but backwards. Your big tub is the clean water and your spin bucket is the rinse. So mop rinse spin into the clean water spin again. Also this might work okay to clean up really hard messes like spilled syrup, honey, soap, ect...
O do the opposite. put the cleaning product in the big bucket, and when I mop, I rinse in the mop bucket first, then rinse again in the big bucket and spin to take excess water. it's so tiring 😭 have to throw the mop bucket water several times, and it fills with water so fast so the water is needed to be changed. You know you reached certain age when you click on a video about mopping.
it's so true lmao
I have definitely reached that age, lol. At least half of what I search for now is different cleaning/repair solutions for things.
Bro and was so intrigued the whole time
I am a clean freak, so watching videos like this gives me joy! 🥰
Right.
Finally someone who knows how to clean floors properly. ❤Thanks young lady

Thank you for watching❤

I absolutely LOVE how you don't put to much product in your cleaning water. So many people online us way to much product. I can imagine how sticky their floors are.
I’ve learned a lot over time lol I made those mistakes and found myself mopping more due to residue attracting dirt, never again lol❤❤
Omgosh I learned the hard way. My floors had this sticky waxy feeling, and looked dull. I had to mop with plain water, then let dry, and now going to repeat again because it still feels like stuff left behind days later. This video was very helpful.

I've used this brand of cleaner and while the scent is nice it is POWERFUL. Use too much and the smell will be overwhelming
I made that mistake before! I thought the more the better... boy were my floors sticky!
Omg, I’ve always hated mopping because dipping the dirty mop back into the mop bucket made me cringe. How simple a solution!! Thank you for posting!

Good idea!!
I use a room full of buckets 3 difrent solutions and 9 maids to clean my room
that's immediately what I thought too lol
This is how I do it
Switch dirty and clean buckets. Even clearer cleaner water and not diluted with every spin. Love the idea!
That’s what I was thinking
Ahhh... thank you! Love this!
Every since watching you I started to mop like this and everyone thinks I’m crazy for doing it but the floor literally shines after 🥰😍

YOU Are Doing An Awesome job with the cleaning / mopping tips. 🎉
This is how old school moms did it ❤
Ayeee 🙌🏽🙌🏽🌸
Old school moms used vinegar. We never used chemicals on our floors. It’s too dangerous. They are not really clean if they are off gassing chemical ingredients & fragrances (also made from petroleum). Not negative, just another way to look at it. 😅
@@johnjohng668yes! they never talk anout how toxic these chemicals are, then we wallk barefoot on the chemucals going into our skin 😵💫😵💫😵💫

I did my sister's floors with the same method. O' Cedar needs to make a 3 bucket option!
I'm so gratified. I've always thought this as well but thought I was the only one watching cleaning videos who thought so😅
They need to make a larger size mop head! This mop is just way too small for large areas.
What do you need three buckets for? That seems excessive
Artists do this with their paint brushes!
Yep! ( I am an artist)
Good point!

Yes, absolutely! If we keep mixing the mop in the dirty water our floors will not be truly clean.
Never leave excessive water on laminate or vinyl flooring.
Someone needs to make a bucket that replenishes clean water 😂

Works even better in reverse! 😊 Soapy water outside, clean inside. 😊
THANKS FOR THE TIP!!
I use my vacuum/electric floor mopper.
Fill the tip container with diluted detergent.
Use like a vacuum and press the spray button often.
Empty dirty water container, and spray rinse the barrel mop head that is a fluffy version of a vacuum agitator head after your done.
