I saw the movie. I liked it. I didn't know the characters in the movie. God only knows about Lonnie and Pastor Chuck Smith. I'm sure there was alot more in real life but the movie only portrayed a portion of it. The movie is about Jesus revolution.
Everyone's relationship with Jesus is unique. We are lead to believe when people raise their arms in the air to praise God and Jesus is phony. I love Jesus but my relationship with him is private and reserved. I help people in need but I don't make it a big show nor do I tell everyone about what I do for Jesus when their are no witnesses. If you do things in the name of Jesus then then why show off what you do to the world. Seeking praise from humans will be your reward. God will say he never knew you. Stay humble, and love genuinely. I don’t think the movie showed Lonnie as a theatrical person. I think Lonnie started on the right track and then took his focus off Christ; just like Peter walking on water. He was human.
He believed in many other teachings that were not biblical at all, or of the Jesus of the Bible, and therefore, we must question where he got his theology.
