We have just returned from a two weeks vacation in Switzerland and the weather was perfect. We had Lucerne as base for visits to Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis, Stanserhorn, Stoos (26 august-2 sept) then Grindelwald for visits to Grindelwald First, Schilthorn, Jungfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren (3 sept-9 sept) and Zurich (10-11sept). Every morning we checked the local weather websites and the webcams showing our desired destination. Even if there were clouds up on the mountains, they moved very quickly (10-20 minutes). My general advice to anyone going to Switzerland is to research and plan thoroughly beforehand. A vacation in a mountain destination where you have a maze of gondolas, funiculars, trains, cable cars and boats requires more planning and research then a simple city trip, in my view. Skipping this research step may result not only in a less satisfied experience but also in increased costs, in a quite expensive destination as Switzerland. Thank you Alexis and Louis for your videos, they were extremely helpful for our research. We will definitely return to Switzerland and in the meantime we will keep watching your videos and dreaming of our next visit.

Just spent 4 days in Switzerland during the last week of August (2022) and it was great. Sunny Weather, got to swim in Lake Zurich. A friend in Zurich gave us a good tour of the city and that was big plus.
We tried Kunh Bakery by Albisriederplatz which we enjoyed for a quick and affordable breakfast.
Also visited Luzern, Bern, Thun, Schwarzsee and passed by some small towns which I enjoy because is the 'Path less traveled'. I have to say regional train service is a bit pricey (Swiss Francs) but efficient and on time.
I watched several of your videos before traveling there and many of your tips are very good. I'd recommend doing a review on the smaller towns of Switzerland which there are many to discover and are away from the most popular areas; but that's what I like, to find those trails that even the locals don't visit often. 🙂
To close the Trip we took the EuroCity 313 train that goes to Milan via the Gotthard Tunnel. It was fantastic. Next time I visit I want to explore the Geneva area.

We reserved a place in Villeneuve for the entire month. In addition we'll be staying in Spiez during the third week. I really want to visit Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald, Murren during that week. You said some things about rail closures during April. Do you think this will be a big problem for us? Also, I am trying to decide whether a Swissrail Pass or a half-fare pass would be best for us. The harderkulm will be open in Interlaken (from mid April), jungfraujoch is open all year, etc. You’ll be able to access all of those villages as well. You may have some specific mountain gondola/ railway closures, but those tend to start opening back up in mid April. Enjoy your travels!

Was hoping to see nice views of the mountains and nice areas within the city. Would you have recommended IT for these period ?

March can have very warm sunny days in the mountains. When I say warm, I mean 7-10C but with direct sunshine in the mountain that can feel much warmer. Still need coats and hats however

Not all of them close, for example the Jungraujoch is always open, and already being in an alpine region allows you to hike around and experience the alps fully!

Can anyone advise if a week difference does matter alot for the temperature in terms of the weather?
