Gosh. What really bugs me about all of this is why in the heck is there so many team Jane and Rafael fans? It's the obvious choice because he has more money, is more "attractive"? Because he’s the father of Jane’s child? You guys have to remember that Michael has never ever wanted to lose Jane from the very beginning. Rafael 1. Had a chance with Jane before she met Michael, and on their first “date”, Rafael never called her. 2. I highly doubt anything would have happened between them if she wasn’t accidentally artificially inseminated. 3. Remember how Rafael reacted when Jane told him she is saving sex for marriage? For example: When Jane said she wanted to wait till marriage, Michael was totally cool with it (Rafael, on the other hand, laughed and asked her if she was serious). Michael has been there from the beginning which means they have so much history! They have inside jokes, they have an amazing origin story. Michael has been loyal, patient, and committed to Jane in every way. He respects her choice to stay a virgin until she's married, supports her dream of being a writer, and also watches her ridiculous telenovelas! Not only that, he understands just how important her family and her heritage are to her. Let's not forget how he helped Abuela avoid deportation, saved Rogelio from the creepy stalker lady, and said his vows in Spanish!! Everything he does is for Jane’s well being. He hunted down her son’s kidnapper, he stepped back when she chose Rafael, he didn’t insist on buying that amazing house when Jane ultimately decided to stay closer to Rafael for Mateo’s sake, he backed Jane up when she thought her novel idea had been stolen… He knows the Villanuevas like the back of his hand, understands the power of a family of women, and totally respects their boundaries. He’s even BFFs with Jane’s dad! Ultimately, as Jane’s boyfriend/fiancé/husband, he has helped build a relationship where they support each other, help each other, listen to each other, and lift each other up in every aspect of their lives. I can go on forever. I know you guys will say “Michael is always jealous!” “Michael has a jealousy problem”, sure. Who wouldn’t?! It’s the love of his life! Rafael was caught having some very jealous moments as well when she would talk to Michael when they were broken up or together. You guys are just so blinded by his looks. It’s ridiculous. I think Michael’s motives are always to make sure Jane is happy, even if she isn’t with him. That’s a man you marry and take home to your family. #TeamMichaelAllTheWay

I've been #TeamMichael from the beginning and when he died I literally died for a while as well. I honestly could not believe that that was his end. We saw the mourning, the actual "death" scene, and more up to the point that I was finally at peace that she was with Rafael. I've never screamed louder in my life than when I saw Michael alive. So many range of emotions, I can't. I'm so happy he's alive, there's a reason he came back before Rafael proposed just saying. #TeamMichael ❤❤✊
Michael was poisoned by Rose, causing him to have a heart attack, then captured and held prisoner. Remember when Rose was talking to the big bald guy in prison and she said “Does anyone else know him?” THE “HIM” BEING MICHAEL! And the guy says “No, just me” and Rose subsequently strangles him. ALSO, Michael has amnesia, which was referenced as a classic telenovela trope earlier in the episode and hasn’t been used yet in the series. This would explain why he didn’t try to contact her. Moving on, the narrator is obviously Mateo. He is continuing the family tradition of writing and telling stories, and is telling the story of his mother’s life. Finally, The person who JR shot is most likely Chuck Chesser, who if you recall, Petra broke up with the season prior. He was probably angry that she moved on so quickly and felt betrayed. He had plenty of information to blackmail her with, and the writers have already confirmed that the person is NOT Magda and IS **someone that Petra already knows.** That would also explain why JR doesn’t seem to recognize the person she shot. These are just my theories. Feel free to add on or dispute.
I also thought of Abby, Rafael’s ex as the shooter. She disappeared so quickly and she didn’t play a major role yet, we didn’t get to know her background. Plus, she is invisible enough to slip through an open window, while Chuck is bigger and it must be harder for him to do that. But I agree that Chuck has all the motives and information to blackmail Petra

I honestly feel like Michael losing his memory is the best theory out there, it makes so much sense. It would explain why he hasn't contacted her or tried to see her. I hate this idea though, it's incredibly sad, it means Jane and Rafael are end game because Michael is clueless as to who she is. The idea is completely unfair for Michael. If they bought Michael back for that reason, it would've been better to leave him dead.
I think it was just the writers way of giving both fan teams a love story. One with Michael and one with Rafael. But it totally sucks cuz we all loved Michael and him dying hurt like hell, and Jane's cry was heart wrenching. So him coming back after Jane moved on was a twist and it let her move one and him as well. Even tho he started to slowly regain his memory

Michael is a detective,so he probably faked his death to help with the investigation. He faked a heart attack and the station informed doctors what is going on,and they went with it.

I think she should be with Rafael. I don’t think she has moved on from Michael. I loved Michael and was team Michael. I think there is a part of Jane that will always love Michael. However, I believe Jane has changed since Michael “passed.” Her relationship with Rafael has grown and developed, and I believe they are right for each other at this point in their lives.

I was always #teammichael but there's no way I can be now. For me there's two options here. One, is that Michael faked his own death for some reason, probably to protect Jane and Mateo, and that's fine and noble or whatever, but Jane grieved for him and was genuinely traumatised over his death, having panic attacks and some depression. "Protecting her", is in my eyes not good enough. It's like shooting someone in the foot because there's a chance their leg might be amputated. Yeah, amputation is worse, but if you don't need an amputation (see: if Michael really isn't dead), then its not worth getting shot in the foot (see: grieving your husbands death). That kind of emotional trauma doesn't just go away because "oh look he's not dead!". Not only did he derail her life, but he did it needlessly and she had to move on to survive. If that really is Michael, I wouldn't want Jane back with him because she now loves Rafael, and "I did it to protect you" is not enough for her to justify abandoning Rafael, a man who loves her genuinely, and going back to him after everything she went through. Even if it was Michael's only option, Jane deserves better than to derail her life again for something she /used/ to have with him, and hasn't had in years. Option two! That is not Michael. We know Rafael got the information about Michael not being dead from Sin Rostro, someone obviously unreliable, someone who wants something from Rafael, and someone who HAS THE CAPABILITIES TO CHANGE A PERSONS APPEARANCE. Plus, I don't really believe the Narrator would lie to us about Michael's death. Misdirect, sure, but lie? Either way I ship Rafael and Jane 100% now, despite originally loving Michael the most.

What a twist, was not expecting the ending of this season like that at all. It all made sense why Rafael was acting the way he was but I honestly don’t think it’s fair to Jane or Rafael one bit. Like the two are finally at peace, are finally happy together let alone they already have a child together & then Michael just appears out of nowhere. It’s kinda fucked up lmao. Jane had made her peace with Michael’s death which took her so long to do and she was finally able to move on for her own happiness & now she’s gonna end up going back to exactly where she started.. not knowing who to choose or who she loves more. And Rafael is going back into his dark phase again, I can feel it. You can tell that Rafael loves Jane so much that he probably told Rose where Luisa is in exchange for Jane to know the truth about a Michael. Look. I told EVERYONE that he was still alive and no one believed me. Three theories. 1.) Michael fake his own death in order to protect Jane and her family including Mateo. Has to do a lot with the meeting Rose and Michael had when he went to save Mateo from the church when Mateo was kidnapped by Rose. 2.) Rose probably shot him with some billet that let him dead for a few hours and then kidnapped him and held him captive or even hidden. 3.) Michael probably was affected by Amnesia and maybe can’t remember much. This being awake after such a long coma. Either way I’ve always liked Michael and Jane more. I like Rafael and Jane but Rafael seems too emotionally unstable. Jane always loved Michael. It’s always been Michael.
2 & 3 aren't possible since he didn't die from the gun shot wound. First one is possible but then isn't since they held a funeral for him. I'm mostly convinced it's actually someone Rose surgically enhanced to manipulate Raf into telling her where his sister is.

Three words: It's a DRAMA. Trust me, I'm having the same thoughts (it makes it much worse because I was actually starting to enjoy just Jane and Rafael), but the main thing I've learned so far is that this show has so many twists it could be considered a Twizzler. So, expect the unexpected or face the dramatic emotional consequences of this show.
If they use Michael as an elaborate way to get Jane to pick Rafael, I'm not gonna bother watching again. You just know this is gonna be in service of Rafael

The narrator dropped us a hint on the first episode about Michael and Jane’s future relationship when he said:” In that moment, in the arms of the man she thought she knew so well Jane Gloriana Villanueva really believed that to be true.” This whole time Jane’s memories about Michael has been “clean and pure” and his return will unleash a lot of secrets that he’s been hiding from Jane and that will push her more to be with Rafael.
I was finally happy when Jane and Rafael got back together, and now Michael's back? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out, but Jane and Rafael better stay together. My heart cannot handle them apart.
I'm not worried. Jane chose Cardova over Raf once because you can't just let the main couple be together so easily. It's a tv-show . There must be secondary characters standing in the way. But Rafael is the love of her life. It's THEIR story. They're family, they're meant to be and no one will ruin this ever again.

Vicky Prm I think it’s to deepen the bond between Jane and Raf, to prove that he isn’t a 2nd choice or someone she got left with since a Michael “died”. It’s a way to show that in the end no matter what happens Jane and Rafael are meant to be endgame. The universe puts them together time and time again as if it is destiny. It’s no coincidence that Rafael ended up being the father for her baby and someone she liked in past, who also happens to be her boss at the hotel. They highlight so much on how much Rafael has been the main supporter in her career choice, first person to ever refer to her as a writer, he was the person who pushed her into writing the story of Michael which ended up being her first book published. He makes her keep going in her career and makes her believe that she can do it. Jane pushes and teaches Rafael how to be a better person and a good family man since he didn’t come from a stable one. They teach other stuff that they know best, Rafael had a rough upbringing but what came out of it is he is confident in his career and work skills snd is willing to take risks etc and that is something Jane needs from him since being a writer is tough and comes with doubts sometimes. They compliment each other in the typical novela plot: poor, hard working, admirable girl falls in love with rich, playboy who needs to work on morals. Jane the virgin revolves around Jane as the main character, but Rafael is the second. Everything takes place around them. It’s raf sister who gets her pregnant with his sperm, she works at his hotel. His family and his roots always plays an important role in the plot and drama. Even Michael being a cop and working on Rafael’s family/hotel cases was just convenient so that they can incorporate his job into the bigger story which is Rafael’s crazy life. Everything revolves around Jane and Rafael
Jane the virgin episodes airing from Monday for season 1-3 to Friday for season 4 also contributed to their drop in viewership. People are obviously going to be out on a Friday for the weekend, so people don't watch the show live as much anymore.
you're totally right. honestly, they did talk a lot about Jane being with Rafael after Michael's passing, so I guess it'll be interesting what Jane does now. In my opinion, Jane and Michael were perfect for each other, three years ago.But when he died things changed, and Jane changed and it's a different and more mature person now. So, I think, Jane chose Michael three years ago, but now Rafael is the right for her for all of the reasons you stated. Plus, she chose Michael because he knew her, and Rafael didn't (not yet). Now the roles have changed: Rafael knows her better than anyone (she herself told him he was her best friend), and he has been there for her for years... whereas Michael has been away, so he doesn't know her anymore. And I'm sure he had his reasons to disappear, but Jane is going to be mad, and she's not going to trust Michael that easily anymore. Team #Jafael for the win.

For some reason never trusted Michael , he always seemed too sneaky. Always trying to be Mr. Perfect for Jane who had all her life planned out before she even started living it, for me he never seemed like he was being himself. I have a lot of catching up to do, but this series was taken from a spanish soap opera with the same name, of course to make it a series and make it last longer they added and changed some things, but if they want to do the original story any justice, Jane and Rafael stay together. #teamrafael

Gosh. What really bugs me about all of this is why in the heck is there so many team Jane and Rafael fans? It's the obvious choice because he has more money, is more "attractive"? Because he’s the father of Jane’s child?
You guys have to remember that Michael has never ever wanted to lose Jane from the very beginning. Rafael 1. Had a chance with Jane before she met Michael, and on their first “date”, Rafael never called her. 2. I highly doubt anything would have happened between them if she wasn’t accidentally artificially inseminated. 3. Remember how Rafael reacted when Jane told him she is saving sex for marriage? For example: When Jane said she wanted to wait till marriage, Michael was totally cool with it (Rafael, on the other hand, laughed and asked her if she was serious).
Michael has been there from the beginning which means they have so much history! They have inside jokes, they have an amazing origin story. Michael has been loyal, patient, and committed to Jane in every way. He respects her choice to stay a virgin until she's married, supports her dream of being a writer, and also watches her ridiculous telenovelas! Not only that, he understands just how important her family and her heritage are to her.
Let's not forget how he helped Abuela avoid deportation, saved Rogelio from the creepy stalker lady, and said his vows in Spanish!! Everything he does is for Jane’s well being. He hunted down her son’s kidnapper, he stepped back when she chose Rafael, he didn’t insist on buying that amazing house when Jane ultimately decided to stay closer to Rafael for Mateo’s sake, he backed Jane up when she thought her novel idea had been stolen… He knows the Villanuevas like the back of his hand, understands the power of a family of women, and totally respects their boundaries. He’s even BFFs with Jane’s dad! Ultimately, as Jane’s boyfriend/fiancé/husband, he has helped build a relationship where they support each other, help each other, listen to each other, and lift each other up in every aspect of their lives.
I can go on forever. I know you guys will say “Michael is always jealous!” “Michael has a jealousy problem”, sure. Who wouldn’t?! It’s the love of his life! Rafael was caught having some very jealous moments as well when she would talk to Michael when they were broken up or together. You guys are just so blinded by his looks. It’s ridiculous. I've been #TeamMichael from the beginning and when he died I literally died for a while as well. I honestly could not believe that that was his end. We saw the mourning, the actual "death" scene, and more up to the point that I was finally at peace that she was with Rafael. I've never screamed louder in my life than when I saw Michael alive. So many range of emotions, I can't. I'm so happy he's alive, there's a reason he came back before Rafael proposed just saying. #TeamMichael ❤❤✊

Michael was poisoned by Rose, causing him to have a heart attack, then captured and held prisoner. Remember when Rose was talking to the big bald guy in prison and she said “Does anyone else know him?” THE “HIM” BEING MICHAEL! And the guy says “No, just me” and Rose subsequently strangles him.
ALSO, Michael has amnesia, which was referenced as a classic telenovela trope earlier in the episode and hasn’t been used yet in the series. This would explain why he didn’t try to contact her.
Moving on, the narrator is obviously Mateo. He is continuing the family tradition of writing and telling stories, and is telling the story of his mother’s life.
Finally, The person who JR shot is most likely Chuck Chesser, who if you recall, Petra broke up with the season prior. He was probably angry that she moved on so quickly and felt betrayed. He had plenty of information to blackmail her with, and the writers have already confirmed that the person is NOT Magda and IS **someone that Petra already knows.** That would also explain why JR doesn’t seem to recognize the person she shot.

I honestly feel like Michael losing his memory is the best theory out there, it makes so much sense. It would explain why he hasn't contacted her or tried to see her. I hate this idea though, it's incredibly sad, it means Jane and Rafael are end game because Michael is clueless as to who she is. The idea is completely unfair for Michael. If they bought Michael back for that reason, it would've been better to leave him dead.
I think it was just the writers way of giving both fan teams a love story. One with Michael and one with Rafael. But it totally sucks cuz we all loved Michael and him dying hurt like hell, and Jane's cry was heart wrenching. I was always #teammichael but there's no way I can be now.
For me there's two options here. One, is that Michael faked his own death for some reason, probably to protect Jane and Mateo, and that's fine and noble or whatever, but Jane grieved for him and was genuinely traumatised over his death, having panic attacks and some depression. "Protecting her", is in my eyes not good enough. It's like shooting someone in the foot because there's a chance their leg might be amputated. Yeah, amputation is worse, but if you don't need an amputation (see: if Michael really isn't dead), then its not worth getting shot in the foot (see: grieving your husbands death). That kind of emotional trauma doesn't just go away because "oh look he's not dead!". Not only did he derail her life, but he did it needlessly and she had to move on to survive. If that really is Michael, I wouldn't want Jane back with him because she now loves Rafael, and "I did it to protect you" is not enough for her to justify abandoning Rafael, a man who loves her genuinely, and going back to him after everything she went through. Even if it was Michael's only option, Jane deserves better than to derail her life again for something she /used/ to have with him, and hasn't had in years.
Option two! That is not Michael. We know Rafael got the information about Michael not being dead from Sin Rostro, someone obviously unreliable, someone who wants something from Rafael, and someone who HAS THE CAPABILITIES TO CHANGE A PERSONS APPEARANCE. Plus, I don't really believe the Narrator would lie to us about Michael's death. Misdirect, sure, but lie?
Either way I ship Rafael and Jane 100% now, despite originally loving Michael the most.

What a twist, was not expecting the ending of this season like that at all. It all made sense why Rafael was acting the way he was but I honestly don’t think it’s fair to Jane or Rafael one bit. Like the two are finally at peace, are finally happy together let alone they already have a child together & then Michael just appears out of nowhere. It’s kinda fucked up lmao. Jane had made her peace with Michael’s death which took her so long to do and she was finally able to move on for her own happiness & now she’s gonna end up going back to exactly where she started.. not knowing who to choose or who she loves more. And Rafael is going back into his dark phase again, I can feel it. You can tell that Rafael loves Jane so much that he probably told Rose where Luisa is in exchange for Jane to know the truth about a Michael. 1.) Michael fake his own death in order to protect Jane and her family including Mateo. Has to do a lot with the meeting Rose and Michael had when he went to save Mateo from the church when Mateo was kidnapped by Rose.
2.) Rose probably shot him with some billet that let him dead for a few hours and then kidnapped him and held him captive or even hidden.
3.) Michael probably was affected by Amnesia and maybe can’t remember much. This being awake after such a long coma.
Either way I’ve always liked Michael and Jane more. I like Rafael and Jane but Rafael seems too emotionally unstable. Jane always loved Michael. It’s always been Michael.
2 & 3 aren't possible since he didn't die from the gun shot wound. First one is possible but then isn't since they held a funeral for him. I'm mostly convinced it's actually someone Rose surgically enhanced to manipulate Raf into telling her where his sister is.

Vicky Prm I think it’s to deepen the bond between Jane and Raf, to prove that he isn’t a 2nd choice or someone she got left with since a Michael “died”. It’s a way to show that in the end no matter what happens Jane and Rafael are meant to be endgame. The universe puts them together time and time again as if it is destiny. It’s no coincidence that Rafael ended up being the father for her baby and someone she liked in past, who also happens to be her boss at the hotel. They highlight so much on how much Rafael has been the main supporter in her career choice, first person to ever refer to her as a writer, he was the person who pushed her into writing the story of Michael which ended up being her first book published. He makes her keep going in her career and makes her believe that she can do it. Jane pushes and teaches Rafael how to be a better person and a good family man since he didn’t come from a stable one. They teach other stuff that they know best, Rafael had a rough upbringing but what came out of it is he is confident in his career and work skills snd is willing to take risks etc and that is something Jane needs from him since being a writer is tough and comes with doubts sometimes. They compliment each other in the typical novela plot: poor, hard working, admirable girl falls in love with rich, playboy who needs to work on morals.
Jane the virgin revolves around Jane as the main character, but Rafael is the second. Everything takes place around them. It’s raf sister who gets her pregnant with his sperm, she works at his hotel. His family and his roots always plays an important role in the plot and drama. Even Michael being a cop and working on Rafael’s family/hotel cases was just convenient so that they can incorporate his job into the bigger story which is Rafael’s crazy life. Everything revolves around Jane and Rafael
Jane the virgin episodes airing from Monday for season 1-3 to Friday for season 4 also contributed to their drop in viewership. People are obviously going to be out on a Friday for the weekend, so people don't watch the show live as much anymore.

In my opinion, Jane and Michael were perfect for each other, three years ago.But when he died things changed, and Jane changed and it's a different and more mature person now. So, I think, Jane chose Michael three years ago, but now Rafael is the right for her for all of the reasons you stated. Plus, she chose Michael because he knew her, and Rafael didn't (not yet). Now the roles have changed: Rafael knows her better than anyone (she herself told him he was her best friend), and he has been there for her for years... whereas Michael has been away, so he doesn't know her anymore. And I'm sure he had his reasons to disappear, but Jane is going to be mad, and she's not going to trust Michael that easily anymore. Team #Jafael for the win.

Always trying to be Mr. Perfect for Jane who had all her life planned out before she even started living it, for me he never seemed like he was being himself. I have a lot of catching up to do, but this series was taken from a spanish soap opera with the same name, of course to make it a series and make it last longer they added and changed some things, but if they want to do the original story any justice, Jane and Rafael stay together. #teamrafael
