One of the best songs from the late 1960s imo. Kind of iconic of the the whole "peace and love" vibe of that era among the younger generation.

Released in 1967, this was an anthem for a generation. They played at most of the Pop Festivals in 69 during the day and this was a great way to wake up!

This song "Get Together" was their biggest hit in 1967. They are considered a "one hit wonder".

Darkness, Darkness and Sugar Babe got lots of airtime. Great sweet sound llve too. Hardly one hit wonders. Jesse Colin Young still gigs and writes songs.

This was one of the songs that were being played on the radio when I enlisted in the Marines. I have mixed feelings about it..

The song actually went nowhere when it was first released and when it was a part of a "Brotherhood" commercial in 1969, it exploded.

I didn't say it wasn't divided but it's much worse now imo ,we didn't have school kids being slaughtered I felt safer running around back then

@@somthingbrutal No, Kent State (my Alma Mater, Class of 1969) didn't happen until May 4, 1970 (RIP Sandy Scheuer, Alison Krause, William Schroeder, and Jeffrey Miller) This song came out in 1967.

Yes Stan you are thinking too hard on this one.. As the saying goes " you had to be there". lol. . This song was a re-flexion of what was tearing us apart in the country during this time period. The civil rights movement.. the riots .. And the anti VietNam war protests.

Very good song, very good voice. Was out in 1970. A one hit wonder tho was probably quite profitable for all involved. A great yr for music.

Song covered by Garth Brooks (alias Chris Gaines) on the album entitled "Garth Brooks in... The Life Of Chris Gaines" (1999). Excellent recovery!

I believe this came out and did so,so on the charts. A time later, maybe a year , a Jewish Organization used it in their commercials, and it climbed the charts
