Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

I lived as a teenager thru the sixties, and 1967 (this song and hundreds more) from groups no one ever herd of. You will never go wrong reacting to 1967 songs that charted!
And 1968 and especially 1969, but also 1970 through 1972 as well -- if you were making music, you could hardly do wrong.

Another great song with a similar message is Crystal Blue Persuasion by Tommy James and the Shondells from about 1968. Definitely check that one out, Shawn.

I’m 75, I was 20 in 68, I lived in this period. We were wrong about some things like drugs. But we were right about love and peace. Today our country is about anything but.
One of the songs that was part of the sound track of my Senior year in high school.
I think this came out the year I was born 1967 I went back and looked at the music that was released that year what a great year for music. A timeless song that still sounds fresh today 57 years later,

This is one of the albums I discovered back in 1980 listening to K.M.E.L. 106 FM in the San Francisco bay area, when they played full albums on late Sunday nights. "DARKNESS DARKNESS" was another song of theirs that really grabbed me. "COME TOGETHER" got massive air play time. I was 9 when it came out and this kind of music really influenced my growth. I have listened to music every day for most of my life, including at work. It makes me what I am.
In 1967 in Beatles were part of the first around the world satellite broadcast are they perform their song all you need is love, and others followed in the same kind of style.

The hippie groove of peace, love and brother/sisterhood seems to come in waves, and when it is needed, and it is needed now more than ever. So, thank you and patron for this anthem which, being emblematic of that time, resurfaces in soundtracks from that time and headspace. Everyone above a certain age knows it by heart. Such beautiful song with a wonderful message of hope and a plea for brotherhood for all people and now if we only follow the sentiment of this song! This came out while I was in high school and have loved this song since then. This is another example of meaningful messages found in so many songs from the sixties and seventies.

I've said it before that you do reactions to some songs that no one else does and they are actually great songs. Please keep them coming because if they don't get listened to they will fade away and people need to hear these classics with messages that live forever. Rock on brother.

This song, along with a few others. is more or less an anthem for my generation. It expresses the gist of our message and the cultural changes we were bringing into the world which, even today, are being felt. The seeds we planted in the '60s and '70s are coming into fruition now. Even though things seem a mess right now - we've got to get this negativity up and into view so we can recognize it, clean it up and move on into a better world. I have seen this country and the world go through incredible changes in my lifetime. I'm 77 and this song still rings so true.

I saw the public service commercial before I heard it on the radio. It had childlike drawings displayed through. Mesmerizing.
Thank you for being who you are. This was the ideal of the late sixties and early seventies. Peace, love, and understanding. This is what being a hippie back then meant to all of us. We were met with derision and, as occurred at Kent State and other places, violence from the authorities. More recently the hippie movement of the sixties has been blamed for a lot of the ills of the world, as if peaceful protest wasn't really peaceful. You see it in the MAGA world when they condemn the Black Lives Matter organization as being destructive to the cities where they protested, forcing them to take up arms and break up the protests. In truth BLM was an entirely peaceful organization met with nothing but violence from conservative groups. It's been disheartening trying to maintain the attitude of pacifism for the last 60 years. The music remains, though, and remains a wonderful memory of the hope and optimism of a generation.
A very underrated band and now forgotten.They plugged into the spirit of the age and expressed an almost universal sentiment. The people of the world if left alone would find a way to sort things out despite their differences. No on wants war except the greed and power crazed politicians. Even my father, a rock solid conservative New England Yankee who listened only to classical music liked this song

I'm 60 years old, and I can remember during the Vietnam war era singing this song in church. I remember a nun with a guitar leading the song.

A great 60’s song! This and “San Francisco” seem to be the most timeless of the peace/love/hippie era. My grade school class of 1973 sang this song at our graduation. Growing up in the 60s, we really in our hearts believed in messages like this. I look at America now and just shake my head.
I new the lead guitar playerJerry Corbitt quite well when he was living in lake Elizabeth ca...Great great musician great guy spent some time with Charlie Daniels touring..Jerry passed 2014 of lung cancer in Tx a great song during a rough time in the country with Vietnam the song became an anthem for the era great reaction keep spreading the music around Godbless 🎉

Another one of the great 60's bands. This song "Get Together" was their biggest hit in 1967. They are considered a "one hit wonder" but they had some other songs such as "Darkness, Darkness", "Sugar Babe", "Grizzly Bear" etc.

I have always love this song and Jesse Colin Young. You can't change the world but you can change the way you view the world, how you allow it to effect you and how you react to it. There is an up side and a down side to everything and while it is important to be aware of the down side, it is most important to concentrate on the upside and continue on with your focus, to achieve your goal in your own way no matter how anyone else feels about it. "This is where I am going if you don't want to come along, then please get out of my way." While becoming a victim is not our fault, remaining a victim always is. Victim mentality is a complete road block on our life path. Thank you for your reaction to this great song.
Even though released in ‘67 it took 2 more re-releases for this peace song of the era to hit it big. I remember at the age of 9 listening to this song on an FM radio station in NYC and was amazed with the power of its message!❤☮️👍🏻
Saw those guys on my 21st birthday at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco. Many years later when I had a piano moving company, I became friends with the keyboard player (Banana) when I moved his pianos.

I was a freshman in high school when this came out. It’s not easy being positive these days but I actually believe (maybe naively) that love and justice will ultimately prevail.

The Youngbloods "On Sir Francis Drake" is a great instrumental.
This was a refection of he times back then when the hippie movement as happenning. Music was about love, peace and change.

Having songs like this in my childhood (I was 5 when this came out) played a big part in my great love for folk and rock music that has lasted all my days thus far. Another great song with a great message is ‘Love is the Answer’ by England Dan and John Ford Coley. Gorgeous harmony in that one.
