I have the same problem, and this is exactly what I do. However, Do you know what is causing this issue at first place ? mine does it quite a lot not all the time but 4-5 times a week you could say.
Sometimes I use this tool but most of the times, I put the car in drive mode and drive few inches and press P button and it works.

Same here! It says it may roll away but sometimes park doesn’t go off and even if it does go off, it’s still in gear so it won’t roll and I can’t move the car at all. Says it’s in Neutral, but doesn’t roll and is still locked up even if I’m holding it in Neutral..
