You could say that, but from my perspective Hanzo is the one who is responsible for that. Yes Danzo did lie about Akatsuki killing stone village shinbois, but ffs he straight up believed it with no investigation and went to deal with them straight away. That's dumb as fck if you ask me. Sadly Danzo is one of the few characters in Naruto that are actually done realistically and unbelievably well written.

Danzo was ‘acting Hokage’ but suddenly he made himself and the village believe he was the next Hokage. So he actually became the sixth Hokage, that snake.

Kakashi doesn't want to be Hokage, not his style. Also the leafs destruction was 100% the Leaf Village's fault and Tsunade's fault. Are we forgetting the Leaf created Pain? And Pain didn't come to destroy the Leaf Village, he just came for Naruto. Tsunade spoke extremely arrogantly to Pain, so as a statement he put her in her place. If she didn't basically spit in his face he would have just left to go to Mount Miyoboku to get Naruto.
The real name of the fondation is The Root. The Fondation is the english sub. The fondation was once created by Tobirama ( the 2nd Hokage ). The Roots Black ops are the real ninja of Konoha. They do stuff in the shadow of the leaf, and stay in the shadow. Nobody knows who is in it. But once in it, shinobis have to act like roots to keep the tree straight and righteous.

so taking uchias eyes is benefical for the village? he also didnt fight against the uchia coup but made a 13 year old commit genocide. he then hid while pain and destroyed the village; how is that benefical for the village? the uchia massacre was not beneficial for the village it was a failure.
Danzo teaming up with Hanzo was actually strategically beneficial for the Leaf. Hanzo ruled that land, so if the Leaf got into good graces with him it would make their fight against other nations easier. For instance, Tsunade, Orichimaru, and Jiraiya wouldn't have had to fight Hanzo if they were already allied at that point. Even taking out the Uchiha was warranted, the information provided for that move was provided by Itachi after all. It's not pretty, but if a clan is about to attack the rest of the village and mediation has failed what good does waiting for them to take the first strike do? If you lack any sense of morality it's an easy decision. The tragedy is the unknowing innocents that got caught up in it because their clan leaders wanted blood.
On the flip side, Sarutobi Hiruzen let Orochimaru leave even after he learned about all of the citizens and ninja he'd kidnapped, experimented on, and killed and eventually Orochimaru came back and attacked the village killing many more. Sasuke being left alive due to sentimentality enabled him to join not just 1 but 2 enemy factions. We all know the rationale behind these acts and while Danzo's way of doing things has many flaws as well his criticism has merit just like criticism of Danzo has merit.
No, Tsunade is way younger than Danzo. Third Hokage is their sensei way back. Only Danzo and Hiruzen are in the same age.

I love how Devi is trying to understand villains and their perspectives more because of Pain. But there is no villain in Naruto like Pain. He's the best one! That speech he gave proved that. He left everyone speechless.

danzo, and many of the naruto villains, is like thanos. they're utilitarian. danzo wants to take control so he can do what he thinks is the best for all people. for that he needs the top power. and as the leader of the root, he handled all the dark and dirty shit for the welfare of the village thats why he is what he is.
at this point, he's just the type of guy who would take action immediately, no matter how unattractive his ways are, as long as it benefits the village. unlike the other kage's starting from hiruzen who are "soft" hearted and would always go for the politically correct, morally and ethically right actions. danzo is actually one of the ninja's that is most loyal to the village.
Danzo is patriotic to the extreme.
You are giving Danzo too much credit. A lot his endeavors ended in failure and his ambitions were mostly to better his power above all others.

There were many questionable things he did that were for his own benefit and detrimental to the village itself - he chose to stay underground and hoped for Pain to destroy the village. He was also nowhere to be seen when Kurama was rampaging the village. What is the point of working in the shadow or willing to do unattractive things for the village when you don't even show up when it is in direct grave danger? Not only did he not show up, but he hoped that these problems would benefit him and him alone.
Did he really intend to kill all the Uchiha to prevent a civil war or did he kill them to obtain all those sharingans for himself? Wasn't he in cahoots with Orochimaru whose intention was clearly to destroy Konoha?
Imo, he isn't even close to being loyal to the village, in fact, he is one of the worst criminals that were groomed by the village itself. If we go long back, he created the mess that others had to clean up years later. You can't just set a bomb in a place and then remove it and then call yourself a savior.

Sakura was actually so exhausted after Pain's attack as she constantly healed and pulled an all-nighter attending to each villager for like a week so give her a break. Also, Sai messed up the formation if you watch it again. (this is for the haters)

I'll probably get into Danzo in certain future episodes (I notice you guys have already seen beyond episode 211 on Patreon, so you've already seen his death). That's where I'll probably explain a bit more about Danzo. Regardless, Danzo's a very unique existence amongst the villains of Naruto.
I think one thing that's a bit more uplifting about this episode (since seeing Danzo become Hokage is sure to put a downer on one's mood) is seeing how utterly competent Naruto has become. He manages to talk the Cloud Ninja into dropping their aggressions. It's really his great growth. He also does some beautiful sword catching, showing off just how powerful he's become even without Sage Mode. Sadly, this entire arc is actually a reality check for Naruto, and he'll be beaten down for the rest of it by the reality of just how difficult peace truly is.

Danzou is all about the ends justify the means. shinobi are just tools, self-sacrifice is a shinobis duty etc etc. the foundation/root has done the dirty work for the village under the radar that's why you haven't seen anything.

I think that raw strenght is not the most important for the Hokage title rather than the leader quality, wisdom and expirience. Considering this Naruto got the 1st one, but lacks the other qualities, but Danzo the other way around, which makes him more suitable for this role. Kakashi was the best for this, but he didn't want it, unlike Danzo. Also Killer B is probably the strongest in the Hidden Cloud, but can you think of him as Hokage?))

Danzo is terrible but she's not wrong in trying to the see the good in him. There are certain sides of Danzo that are justifiable, but you also have to realize he's also blind to the consequences of his own actions, as well as his own ambitions
Oh Devi I also thought he was a poor old frail man, but Danzo in is his prime already missed an eye. He is leading the foundation so he must somehow still be powerful. He’s still old and bitter though.

Danzo has always been the Hokage from the shadows. The foundation are basically the same but in terms of the Anbu. The fact we don't know what they have done to save the village proves they are doing a good job. They do what NEEDS to be done, right or wrong does not come into the equation with regards to their missions. A lot of Danzo's actions have been questionable but in his mind he always acts in what he sees as the best interest of the village. So many of the Narutoverses issues could have been solved if Hiruzen wouldn't have been so soft.

I hate to tell you this, but nothing beats the Pain arc. I mean there are some solid arcs to come I guess, but Pain arc is considered the PEAK of Naruto by the anime community. I'm glad you guys liked it so much!
