I walked out of my local RW store last Saturday woth a pair of 1907s because my wife fell in love wirh them for family pictures, gatherings, etc... I'll am paying the price to break them in 4-5 hours a day. My love is the Iron Rangers. So much like the jump boots i wore for many years in the Army. I'm gonna get a black or copper IR pair after Christmas for riding my Harley, working on stuff, hiking, and generally wearing for everything else. I love the fit of the IR. Sleek and close. The 1907 moc toe feels like im walking around in galoshes...or Mickey mouse boots as we used to call extreme cold weather boots in the service.
Redwings are all leather. They take longer to break in. Thorogoods are more comfortable because they use cheaper, more flexible material and break in quickly.
Redwing moctoe 1907 are made wider than the 875. I have fallen arches and have wide feet, and I have the 877 which I went up a half size for the extra width room, but the 1907 are my actual size since they are wide enough. Just a thought if you’re interested in returning to Red Wing Moctoe boots since personally and also objectively are made better dollar for dollar when compared to Thoroughgood and Thursday boots. Now, you do have a great point. Red wing moctoes are a pain to break in but once they are broken in the boots feel as if I were wearing sturdy sneakers.
Yeh my 1907s are definitely a wider last than my 875s. Ironically because I the leather insert in the 1907 I got them true to size. That being said I got my 875s a whole size down and they were really a bit too tight. After breaking them in a bit tho, they fit great now. I've noticed the 875s see to have a more pronounced toe than the 1907s. I love em both tho.

I bought a pair for under $220 recently, & I really like them. My local Red Wing vendor will add speed hooks for free, too. Adding a pair or two of speed hooks is really nice.
My Iron Rangers fit my foot better than my 875 moctoe. I had to stretch out my moc toes widthwise a few times to alleviate the pressure points before the fit became better. I think I should have brought the 1907 instead of the 875 in hindsight but they fit now with the pressure points widened.

I have 8085 Copper I bought 1 year ago , I used almost every day for the last 5 or 6 months still not comfortable but is much better , I walked 4 miles yesterday and my feet hurt and got some blister… I was thinking in buy very soon the 8111 amber color

I agree 100%. My 875 are way to narrow and I dont have wide feet. I went and bought the Thorogood Moc and what a difference. They are heaven compared to the 875. Plus they have and additional welt and an additional foot bed.

Iron Ranger definitely not. I briefly owned a pair of Blacksmiths (same boots no toe cap) and they are crazy hard underfoot. Like none of the shock is dissipated. Assuming you're on concrete the iron ranger wouldn't be the most comfortable choice. Also I'm not sure they're slip resistant like the moc toe is. I wear the work line moc toe for factory work and while there are certainly more comfortable boots they last and are fairly comfortable.
Very good question. The ones that you were looking at are the E 2 wide. They may offer an E3 even wider but they did not have those unavailable. Not even online
Whites perry moc toes are very nice too. I like them more than thorogoods they have a leather 360 welt like the redwings not synthetic like thorogoods. They broke in quick, not thorogood quick. I rarely wear the tgoods anymore over the whites.
I ordered the 875’s in a wide width because everyone talks about how narrow they are. I’ll let you know how they compare to my Iron Rangers in normal width.

Red Wing really has some wacky sizing. I think these will work for me though. An 875 in a D width would definitely be too narrow for normal foot. For reference I measure an 11.5D on a brannock and wear size 12 sneakers.
@@mardimarino727 I got them at our local redwing store. The workers where very helpful. So there are a few styles in that but these are the dark brown. They all look the same in that shade. I’ve even been to other stores and have seen that color. I forgot to mention the moctoes were stretched by redwing and left on their machine oiled for about a week

Ironically the 877 moc toes you’re talking about are the only “heritage” line that go to “H” width which I believe is EEE or EEEE.
