  • My right headlight bulb went out so I thought I'd record and show how to change it out. My car is a 2013 Cadillac ATS 2.5 SL, but most of the headlight housing and process is similar to other Cadillac models.
    I'm sorry for the audio mix up around 9:30.. it's cringe-worthy soooo just skip it please!
    I will link the replacement bulbs I purchased within a couple weeks.

  • @beyondthegraveparanormalso7165

    Changing the bulb on this car is borderline idiotic how difficult they make changing a bulb. You shouldnt have to remove a tire or a wheel well. You should be able to pop your hood and do it. This is why i hate new cars

    On a 2014 the driver side is easy, just unscrew the air filter cover remove the filter then pop out the filter housing and shove it to the left, after you push down the fender well cover you will see the housing cover for the bulb, the passenger side will probably require the steps in this video.

    • @deltonsr
      @deltonsr Před 2 lety

      @@fc-_-clan4591 mine had LEDs and those LEDs have a small adjustment screw on the side of it, the ones I bought came with an Allen wrench for that screw. I didn't see all the wires in the video so maybe whoever had the car before me might have did something different to the wiring, not sure. I like the LEDs though. The bigger the tire and rim the more pain to use that passenger side method.

      It’s actually Plasti Dip. If you take your time and clean before, cover the car hood properly and do at least 2 coats, it will be a clean look. I did it about 2 years ago and it’s not showing much wear or tear. It’s great for trade in later because it will just peel off too.

      Mine is a 2014...but I’ve seen videos of 2013’s that have the cap like mine (m.czcams.com/video/1pPrSvqMoE0/video.html)
      I’m about to do the headlight, front turn signal and side marker LEDs this weekend.
      There’s a lot of wiring with the cancellers that I had to purchase and it looks like it’s too much to tuck back in and still have the cap fit. I’ll prob just leave the cap off.
      Thanks for the video and response.

      For the back of the light bulb casing, you can just use your hand as it should be hand-tightened into a specific slot. For the actual enclosure/cover to get access to the bulb area, I used a Phillips head cordless drill since there’s only a few screws.

    So the bulb doesn't snap off like a regular one? I was trying for hours on a 2017 ats...Hardly any room to work with and couldn't get the bulb off!! Can you just remove the bulb or do you have to disconnect everything like you did?

    • @xNasiir
      @xNasiir  Před 3 lety +1

      If I remember correct, the bulb housing slots in at a 90 degree turn, it doesn’t snap off in any way. It locks in to the housing when you place it inside and turn until secure. The extra stuff was all just because of the kit I have on for the HID headlights

    It seems that he's replacing an HID light bulb .... the Caddy must be the Premier or higher.
    The Luxurys have the God Awful 9012's in them with no fogs to boot .....
    I couldn't see a damn thing ..... What a Sh*t Show for Caddilac!!!!
    A Damn Chevy Malibu had better lights....
    I did some trimming and put in a set of Sylvania ZXE's 9005's ....
    That's right the 65 watt high beams with no back reflector on the tip .....
    The difference makes the car useful at night and you don't have to worry about the power difference with the daytime running lights, and flickering, etc....
    Caddilac really Sucks for doing a move like that ...on a car that price....
    You could shove the phone charger, ..... put in Hid lights .... male them an option ....I'd pay for them , but not 5k more for a bunch of crap I don't need ...!!!

      I have the Standard SL version. Bought a HID converter set for $40 and it’s been working great. You’re right about it being overpriced for the upgrade through Cadillac though.
