  • In 2021 many people are getting into the Audio Book Narration Profession. The requirements concerning the ACX, as well as other Audio Book distributors are both extensive as well as easy to accomplish if you can grasp the basic concepts of Audio Requirements.
    Hello, my name is Dana and I have been recording the “Spoken Word” for 45 years. I have analyzed close to 10,000 Podcast files using the recommended standards set forth by the Audio Engineering Society, commonly referred to as the AES.
    I am an active Narrator with the ACX. I also teach Home Recording. I have taught thousands of people how to record professional audio concerning the “Spoken Word” commonly referred to as “Speech”. If you plan on joining any of these organizations or dive into recording, I invite you to check out my other videos as well as my website @ www.danatucker.com. You can also join our community at www.x32rack.com and our Private Facebook Group @ X32 Rack Users.

    Great video, I love to see how to route M32 with Waves super rack, 24 input channels and 8 returns for subgroups, efx and main outs processing

    Thanks for the video. I believe once you start using this function the flexibility and creative options will be great to have in your toolkit. For me, it is having the ability to meet artist needs during a show. The concept we're sharing means that you can process effects from your DAW, include tracks to live sound, and record the show with one tool. Share with me other ideas of using USB routing. Anyone using virtual A/B cables to route sound to the X32 or DAW?

    Thanks for the Video, but please can you tell me how to deal with the Latency?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 2 lety

      There are many things that can cause latency. Your computer system, plugin quality and a hundred other things. Some people will use a dedicate server to help reduce latency. It's quite expensive. Check out the Waves Sound Grid. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SGSExtremeX10--waves-soundgrid-extreme-dsp-server

    Thanks for the video. does anyone know to get the FX from the DAW onto a fader/mixbus so the external FXs work like the FX built into the console?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 2 lety

      As I said before, I don't think it's possible. You may be able to use a third party server like waves but to just use your DAW adding fx to a mix-bus in the x/m32s, I don't know of anyway to do this.

      Thank you for the kind words but I don't use Ableton Live and I don't have the time to learn another DAW. Maybe you can check out one of their communities and they will be able to assist you better. www.ableton.com/en/community/user-groups/

    Is it going to introduce latency the more plugins you added on 1 track? And is it noticeable the difference if you put different plugins through multiple tracks?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 12 dny +1

      Every plugin will create latency and it is something you must consider when setting up your mixer. That's why they are separated on the X/M 32 mixers. FX 1 - 4 are used with the "Sends & Returns" and FX 5 - 8 are setup as "Inserts". Whatever plugin you use in that signal path must have it's latency known. If you are using three plugins on the signal path, add them together to get the total. Now take that number and multiply it by how many times you are using them on different inputs. Waves plugins are very low in latency and if you have the budget, you can get their rack mount version that is lightning fast. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SuperRackLiveBx--waves-superrack-livebox-vst3-plug-in-processor

    How would you set the gain for the microphone?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před rokem

      You set the gain inputs from the X32. If you are going to be using FX from your DAW, you could possibly use a pre FX plugin to boost or cut your gain as well, but it is not recommended.

    How is the original signal going out from USB 5, isn't it going out from AES50 A 5 ?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před rokem

      AES50 A Output 5 is assigned to the Card Out 5. It sounds confusing but it is really backwards.

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před rokem

      You can't. The aux ins are designed to receive inputs that are already mastered.

    I'm used to using Reaper by watching your videos. Could you add a part to this video where you show the routing on reaper please? I would like to hear the vst plugins while recording tracks on reaper in headphones, it would be great to be able to do that.
