    Thanks Dana! As a new X-32 Rack owner, this is the best tutorial I've seen on creating mix busses on the X-32 rack and including the X-32 Mix software I've found. Lots of videos tell how they have already set it up on the X-32 (non-rack), but none show how to achieve that setup. Yours is wonderful. Can't wait to watch your other videos!

We don’t have a house band yet so I wanted to use some videos from live worship sessions on CZcams and run that through the PA system, and run that feed into the item mix so we can sing along with the videos. Do you know a good way to send the video out to the android tablets the singers will have, so they can see what the congregation is seeing? They should also be able to control their iem mix with them too? I hope

    Hey Dana... First of all, thank you so much for teaching us the workings of the X32 Rack! It's very much appreciated!
    I am using the X32 Rack and the Edit software.
    I have been setting up my X32 Rack the last couple of days and cannot for the life of me figure out a specific send.
    For example:.....
    I have my mic on channel 1 and am sending that 'Pre-Fade' to my IEM buss.
    I am also sending my mic 'Post-Fade' to a reverb buss to get the reverb coming out of the mail L/R
    I want that reverb to also be sent to my IEM buss.
    I have figured out how to do this but I only get the reverb in my monitor mix when my channel fader is up. (in other words it seems to be post fade from my mic channel). When my mic channel fader is down I am only getting my dry signal in my ears.
    When I click on the reverb bus and go to sends, it only gives me the option to send this reverb to a matrix and not to my monitor mix.
    Although I am getting the reverb signal in my ears, I would like this to be pre-fade so I can set it in my monitor mix without the main mix effecting the reverb.
    Thanks Dana! 🙂 🙂

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 3 lety

      You will need to change your settings from post fader to pre fader. I would also need to look at your scene, as this may be a two or three factor fix. Hi Dan! This is by far, the most excellent tutorial seen yet. Would we need several receivers to route the mixer in order to EQ several singers' IEM, or just 1 receiver. Thanks so much. 🙏🏾

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 6 měsíci

      There are two types of systems. One with a single transmitter and several receivers, and one with a single transmitter and one receiver. If you have the first system then you can not give everyone a dedicated mix, whereas if everyone has their own mix bus, then you can give each person what they want to hear, aka, a dedicated mix.

    how do I control the mute functions independently from the aux send to the main mix. So when I mute a backing track on the main mix it mutes it on the aux send too. i'm using a XR18

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 3 lety

      I don't use the XR18, I use the S16. You should be able to just set up a bus for your aux and then send that bus to the mains. If you mute the bus then it should not go into the aux or the mains.

  • @eldowns
    @eldowns Před 3 lety

    I have an X32 Rack + S16. If I want to set up 4 stereo monitor mixes in addition to a main monitor mix, what is the best way to do that? Use Outputs 1-8 for monitors, then route 9/10 or 11/12 as Main LR?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 3 lety

      By default, outputs 7 and 8 are for the mains when using the rack. When you add in the S16, most people including myself will use outputs 15 and 16 for the mains. Using outputs 1 -8 for your stereo monitor mixes is fine. • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 2 lety +1

      Glad it was helpful! You need to determine how you are going to be running into the X32, from your drum machine. I have a Alesis 16 drum machine that I can run into my Rack sing XLR or 1/4 inputs. Then you can choose how to setup your routing. If you use aux ins 1 and 2, then select aux 1 to go to the mains and select aux 2 under the Utranet section of your routing, and select aux 2 direct out to any channel of the P16. If I have 2 S16's, stage left..stage right.... can I send a Stereo Bus to Out 7,8 on one S16 (AES A 7,8 ) and the 'Same' Bus signal to 15,16 ( AES A 15,16) on the other S16? Or do I have to use another Stereo Bus for this?

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před rokem +1

      You can run the same mix bus out of every XLR/1/4 Inch output if you want to. It does a internal split. You would simply go to "Out 1-16" and assign the same two mix buses to 15 & 16 and 7 & 8.

    Greetings Dana
    You comment on the gain being high because the mic is quite far away, I have recently got an x32 rack and my gain has to be high even when the mic in close proximity
    The gain is about 3/4 with a sm58 should I be concerned about my unit?
    Cheers
    Maff

    • @DanaTucker1
      @DanaTucker1  Před 2 lety

      Hey Maff, without knowing what you are using the SM58 for, it really is hard to say. However, regardless of what you are trying to record, you need to adjust your gain in till the input meter reads between a -18 and -15dbs. Dynamic mics will always require more gain then condensers. So if you are trying to record someone who speaks very soft, then you will use much more gain then if you were recording a bass amp, 1/2 an inch away.
