Sorry for all the comments, but I have a few things to say 😂
I’m fully behind Slot and I have cautious optimism.
Most of what I’m seeing/hearing makes me think this is a good appointment. Playing style, analyses of his tactics and stats, communication, respect from players and fans. The videos of his buildup play look ‘exciting’ too.
However, my main reservations are those shared by others. It is a big step up from the Dutch league to the Prem and Dutch managers don’t tend to do well over here.
I just hope that;
A. with the better quality players we already have - and those that we sign in this new era - who, let’s be honest, will be able to play full-throttle football.
And
B. the structure of the club - which I think is better suited to the transition from Jurgen than Man Utd and Arsenal were post Ferguson and Wenger.
And
C. with a supportive fan base behind him.
Let’s see if he can buck the trend.
If he doesn’t, then I can see the newspaper headlines now!
