    LITTLE CABIN IN THE YUKON
    When I'm not traveling in an RV or at home working on an RV, I'm usually at our remote, off grid log cabin in the Yukon. My husband and I have had this cabin for over 20 years and love it. If you'd like a look into that part of my life, I have a channel showing how we live there, lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife. So much of what I learned living off grid at the cabin has come in handy living in an off grid RV! The link is here-

      I haven't tried the usb showers, but I'll take your word for it! Yes, Gracie decides when she wants attention and she is very obvious about it! lol! As I said in the video, I LOVE Norwex cloths. I've saved so much on not having to buy cleansers for the house or any kind of facial cleansers. Dancing in the rain can be a hoot! Especially in your birthday suit! As long as it's summer, lol! Otherwise it's too cold!

      @HoneyandMe  Před rokem +1

      Hi Carolyn! Yes, they are not nice. My hair feels kind of waxy after I use them. The powder leaves it soft and clean! Do you remember a product from back in the 70's called Pssst? It was the first real dry shampoo ion an aerosol can. It was powder. Not some gunky chemicals. Wish they still made it!

      What did we do before baby wipes!!?? lol! It was the one 'luxury' I allowed myself when I started having babies. I used cloth diapers for all 5, but baby wipes was so much easier than having to use wet rags to clean off bottoms. Now, 37 years after the first baby arrived, I still buy them! Thanks for stopping by! Your garden was sure looking good in your last video! I'm jealous!

    Nice tips. I don’t like dry shampoo. I even mention it in an upcoming vid where we discuss some overlanding stuff. I have never thought that it worked very well. I’ve pretty much said, If I can’t wash my hair, I won’t go lol. I can’t do baby powder either. It causes my hair to tangle. Probably my hair type. Haha that last bit was funny. I think I’ll just follow that tip 😂

    • @HoneyandMe
      @HoneyandMe  Před rokem +2

      Thanks, Felix!❤️ Tangle!!?? Really?? That’s odd. When I’ve let my hair go too long without washing (usually at the cabin) I douse it in powder before bed, brush it, braid it and in the morning, go outside and bend over to give it a good brush through. Works wonders for me! Hope you guys are doing well!-Sue

      @@HoneyandMe pretty sure it was baby powder that tangled me up. It’s been many many years ago so maybe I’m remembering wrong. My hair tends to be dry while my scalp can get oily. So I really just prefer to wash it.

      @HoneyandMe  Před rokem +2

      I used to have quite oily hair as a teen. That's when they came out with that product called Pssst! It was the first dry shampoo. But it was very different from what we buy now. It really was powder in an aerosol can. I remember my auto shop teacher using it to make his hair white for some costume thing at school, and he had me spray it on good and thick. lol! Haven't thought of that for years! lol! But I used Pssst! back then and wish they still made it.

    As someone who is a huge fan of wipes, I am very pleased to see you are as well. I was thinking of wiping down with the wipes then using the spray bottle to kind of top off I guess? I’ll have to see how that works out for me. Cause sometimes there are days where I don’t have time to take a shower and I kind of have to wipe down with wipes 🤷🏼‍♀️, put on some perfume and deodorant and I feel pretty fresh and clean.

Not to mention everything else in the trailer. It was all packed and ready for us to pick up and head to Arizona. Still makes me angry to think about it...even though we did find it and had it taken away from the thief.

    Sue this was brilliant and really informative, we camp a lot especially at this time of year and like to keep everything simple. Love those black bags, we have a solar shower that is the same principle as the bags where you fill the bag with water and leave it out in the sun all day to heat up and it has like a little shower head on and only cost about £7 ! Definitely going to look into the Norwex cloths and I love the idea of the spray bottles with warm water , never thought of that before in all our years of camping even when our kids were babies , that would have been great ! I dont like dry shampoo but doesnt the baby powder leave white in ? I wondered if bicarbonate of soda would do the job ? 😮 I make some of my own products like deodrant with bicarbonate of soda, cream of tartar and tea tree oil and its wonderful 😃 This was great 👍 ~ Anna

    • @HoneyandMe
      @HoneyandMe  Před rokem +1

      Hi Anna! Thank you so much! If you try the Norwex cloths, I know you'll become a fan too! A spray bottle of water and a Norwex cloth is all you need for cleaning both your home and yourself As far as the baby powder 'shampoo', I have used it on my hair with it now grey, but also as a temporary red-head and my natural brunette colour. I never found any issues with it showing as most of it is brushed out of your hair along with the excess oils. But, you can add other powdery things to it if you want to match up your colour. I have used cocoa powder when I was my natural brunette, but honestly I have not found it to be an issue. When we are at the cabin and I want to give it a really good clean, I douse my hair at night, just before bed with a really good lot of powder and brush it through, but not so it is all out. I leave it in overnight and in the morning give it a really good brush and my hair feels soft and silky. You could definitely try the baking soda or cornstarch. Anything that absorbs. I have even seen dry shampoo recipes with cornmeal in them, but have never tried that. I love the sound of your deodorant! I use a powder one from The Body Shop that smells like herbs. I really like it!

Because no dripping, can manage this while on the bed before putting on sleepware or changing after a hike, but usually use baby changing throw away mats, in case. • @HoneyandMe
      @HoneyandMe  Před rokem

      That's a great question, Earl! I use mine for about 2 weeks before throwing it in the laundry. I hang it to dry between uses and rinse it out after using. The silver in them kills the bacteria which keeps them fresh longer. You can give them a good hand wash with dish soap or even boil them to clean.. And if you do throw them in the laundry, it's best to hang them to dry. You can put them in the dryer, but never with dryer sheets or fabric softener. I think they'd do a good job on anyone! They now have a body/face all in one cloth which I'm enjoying using. It has 2 different textures, one on each side of the cloth. Here's the link- amzn.to/443Urph
