How Did We Get Here looking harder every update

HDWGH with 4 new potions and Trial Omen is only a bit harder than it is now (although it's already mad difficult). If Raid Omen is added too, we are doomed.
@@melwin2251 For that you may just need to chug the potions on a railway on your way to the final destination of HDWGH, since you can just pass through a village then a dungeon on that rail afaik, it's not like the blocks are unbreakable right?

Can't wait to see mace parkour maps where you have to wind burst a series of flying mobs to cross a gap.

path of pain 🗣️🗣️
@@johndanielbeladas8949oh my god yeah you can probably recreate it in minecraft now...
Yes first thing I though of too
My god imagine they give you a bow and you've gotta shoot a floating mob, then time the jump perfectly so you get caught in the wind burst.
It says in the changelog that the level of Bad Omen is a multiplier for the duration of Trial Omen. Bad Omen 1 will grant 15 minutes and Bad Omen 5 will grant 75 minutes of Trial Omen.
Yikes, that's a long time.
@@MesonicPrism733that’s actually a good thing because you need to enter line of site of a trial spawner with trial omen to activate its ominous challenge. In larger trial chambers with lots of spawners, higher levels of bad omen allow you to get to more challenges before it runs out and you need another bottle. Plus if you want to stop you can just drink milk
And not only that The More the Grade of Omen , The better rewards you get in Ominous trial vaults
So if you want to Get good loot like Getting wind Burst for your mace Allways go with Bad Omen V
Yikes. That’s way to long
you can see that in the video thanks
after fighting my friend for like an hour with max mace and armor enchants, this is way more fun than a normal sword, sure you can one shot, but when to shots go off at the same time, you get LANCHED, with enough time to recover with totems and gapples. also we found that level 1-2 is better than 3 for wind burst, as five blocks up you can one shot anyway, so it leads to quicker combos
can you fight mid air
@@bread-productions625 if you both get boosted a similar amount and your close enough, yeah lol
I can’t wait to use trident + mace combos omgg
It’s gonna be so cool to see someone animate air battles from a CZcams let’s play lmao
I'm noticing that they're adding some new progression to the game; in order to get a specific item, you need to kill a pillager raid captain then find and triumph over a trial chamber on "hard mode". If they add more branches of progression like this, they could very well link them together for a final boss or something of the like... a much more interesting way of reaching a "finale" than the End
I don't know how rare they are but you can get ominous pots from normal trial vaults so most likely scenario is using those to get the trial one rather than bring in one from outside. Both are possibilities tho
Imagine there was a harder ender dragon if you respawn it with bad omen
Maybe the portal thing in the ancient cities have something to do with an ominous event there

Given the reworked Ominous Events system, it would be so cool if summoning a Wither or going into an Ender Dragon fight with Bad Omen would convert the boss fight itself into a harder boss fight.
In fact... I may make a datapack for that, since it seems like it'd be fairly easy to code up now...
They're definitely going to do more with it in future, that's for sure. Not sure about harder bosses, but certainly for other new features.
One of the reasons why you didn't have to build up as high is because your hammer had smite, which made it deal more damage against the zoglins.
Wish they would’ve made it so the new potions aren’t made with Awkward Potions, seeing as there are the other ‘failed’ potions you can make. It would be a nice distinction from the regular potions and the special effects the new potions give.
They kinda did change stuff with Potions before but I wish there was a brewing overhaul of some kind. Like making Potions in bulk with cauldrons or sth

I see it now. The new Hermitcraft meta is using Wind Burst on Maces to take off with the Elytra.
Curse of Vanishing is a great thing to have on a PvP server. Think about it just for a moment. Even if you are a great pvper and don't die then well your items stay with you, but if you so happen to just die then well the enemy doesn't get your weapon. Curse of Vanishing is a must have on PvP server and people underestimate it.
Would you rather have the enemy have your items or not?
This is honestly a really good take on why to use the enchantment. I don’t do pvp servers but I can see why it would be very useful

Wait so do you need Bad Omen, Raid Omen and Trial Omen for the “How Did we Get Here” achievement!?!
Most likely not. Blindness and saturation are not included in the achievement because it is impossible to achieve like having both trial and raid omens together. I guess only bad omen is included.😊
Probably, but will be fixed
@@ezonplays2260Blindness is included, you have to drink a suspicious stew to get the effect. Currently the only effects that aren’t included in the advancement are those that are “instantaneous”, such as health, harming, and saturation.
So Bad Omen and Trial Omen shouldn't be too hard, since the former lasts for 100 minutes and the latter for at least 15. Raid Omen is where it would get complicated though, since you'd only have 25 seconds upon entering a village to use a whole bunch of potions and stuff, including reapplying Bad Omen again (and maybe you have to leave the village first, otherwise it might reproc Raid).

Potato dimension
0:16 omg he predicted it
The changelog did mention how the level of Bad Omen affects things: "The Trial Omen has a duration of 15 minutes multiplied by the transformed Bad Omen's level." So higher levels give you more time to trigger more spawners on a single bottle (and obviously, therefore, get more higher-tier loot).
There needs to be an advancement for one shotting the ender dragon with a mace
with breach V and sharpness V, a mace should one shot the ender dragon by falling about 38 blocks (idk if you can put sharpness on a mace. if not, 39-40 blocks. also this math could be wrong, i spent like 10 seconds on it)

This might be one the best updates with the amount of stuff there adding.
Yet so many players say Mojang gets no work done
@@Elektrokardiogramm well thats been true until now lmao
@@Elektrokardiogramm Because the last 4 updates combined didn't have this amount of content. For all you know the only reason we're getting all this is because of how much the last few updates got ridiculed for having no content.
@@ElektrokardiogrammFor a very long time we had gotten so many updates that introduce stuff that has just been mundane and implemented with barely any practical use. Amethyst for instance didn't remotely become useful at all until 1.20 when it was originally introduced in 1.17. Even then it's only really useful for the redstone geeks, a armor trim dye, the mid as heck spyglass, and allays which are a whole other thing that are just kinda...there.
Same with copper too, such a common and abundant ore that you can only do 4 things with. One is it's very own ore block, one is for archaeology which you very well could miss your entire playthrough of minecraft if you aren't actively searching for it, another one is just a lightning rod that doesn't do anything beyond making sure lightning doesn't hit certain spots which really has never been in a problem, and then the last one is the friggin spyglass I know nobody really uses all that much.
Heck even ancient cities are kinda pointless to go to, the only thing they have there that's unique is the sculk music disc fragments and the sculk disc isn't a proper music disc just like 13.
I will say though this newer update looks like Mojang stepping in the right direction again where smaller less important things can still feel useful.
@@Candlemancer tbh idc the reason they add so much content, its here and i dont think there is any reason to complain about it

Taking comparator outputs from them also seems to be a big deal, but I'm not technical enough of a player to understand why. Still, it has it's uses even outside of crafting.

what’s crazy is that he predicted the new dimension 😭😭
I can't wait for parkour maps to incorporate wind charges and maces enchanted with Wind Burst 3.
Man, it seems like they're trying to bring Minecraft Dungeons into vanilla Minecraft. New weapon, new enchantments for said weapon, literal dungeons, ways to make the dungeons more difficult, and crazy status effects that seem like an MMO. Crazy
now there should be "mace protection" that you can put on your armor that reduces damage from the mace by like, 70% with a full set or smth like that lol
Definitely!
Maybe a treasure only enchant though. I really don't want yet another type of situational Protection I have to roll through when enchanting.
nice idea as now Mace is basically an infinite end crystal, one shotting even the strongest players.
@@melwin2251yeah I've done extensive testing with a friend and maxed mace + str 2

The Slime Farm potential with Oozing is making me giddy
Slime farms can now finally be build everywhere as soon as u get a single slime block and bc of the autocrafter u can automate it aswell
i dont think it has that much potential

Holy crap Mojang. The pogo idea is cool, it worked for hollow knight and it looks super fun, but good heavens it is so overpowered. The game was already super easy but now as soon as you get a mace and access to enchants nothing is gonna be hard anymore at all!
To be fair getting a Mace is not easy to do, it feels like kind of the hidden ultimate weapon atm

They keep buffing the mace. At this point they have to add a new biome with much stronger mobs
at this point we're going to need armor better than netherite on servers because dawg it is OVER if someone falls more than 5-6 blocks with the maxed mace and hits (70+ damage)
@@LegendarialI never bothered with netherite before the templates were added because it's a tedious chore to get, better armor is just going to be even more of a tedious chore and something i will never even try getting legitimately if at all.
@@GoblinKing117 yeah, my first reply was somewhat of a joke. the most obvious answer is for mojang to actually balance the mace but they seem hell bent on making a weapon that's ridiculous for pvp encounters and general damage tech (combined with wind charge especially)
Those new effects will make PVP super interesting. Down a potion of each type and then if you die your opponent suddenly gets webbed, slimed, wind charged off a cliff, and possibly swarmed with silverfish. Ranged combat is going to be big in order to avoid sudden mobs out of nowhere. The silverfish one might be good for XP farming, splash a witch then cactus them, infinite silverfish for killing. Probably not better than any existing XP farms but it's at least a possible use.
I don't think I like the change of raids because now they give you more of a choice on whether or not you want to doom the village lol. I just think it's a cooler thought to be like "oh no I've killed a raid captain, now the pillagers are going to get revenge and attack the village" instead of "oh I'm gonna drink this potion and deliberately start a raid". But idk, the way it was before also requires the player to deliberately start a raid but it just feels more artificial now I guess.
Oozing has the potential of allowing you to gain more slime-balls than you lose.
Also the armor piercing does that include protection enchantments?
No but it doesn't have to, even now Breach makes maces completely ignore armor due to how the 60% stacks with the high damage ignoring armor. Prot 4 leather armor and prot 4 netherite armor have the same protection against Breach 4 maces.
Due to all of these new potion effect, they should really turn Turtle Master into it's own actual effect. Maybe you take 50% less damage from behind or something like that.
Mojang really looked at everyone saying the past few updates were too small and chose violence
Can't wait for this to be implemented!
the mace is really cool, but like, now it's so fucking op
combo of ignoring armor and dealing 50 hearts of damage from a 10 block fall, ignoring fall damage and great combo... that is gonna suck in pvp, nobody is gonna last long
add strength to that, woo wee
I can't look at snapshots, so I don't know exactly how much height you need for prot 4, but a fully enchanted mace one hits netherite from 2 blocks up, and I think that's just ridiculous.
I feel like it would take some skill to pull that off in a PvP setting anyway. First you have to get high enough to one shot prot IV, then you have to actually hit a likely moving target. The consequence for failure is likely death unless they’re insane at bucket clutches or have a totem. The moment the target has high mobility, it gets even harder too.
@@coach533 it definitely takes skill, but there is no consequence. With full enchants it's like half a dozen ish blocks, and feather falling means no fall damage.
@@cryptictro Damn. Only advice I can can offer is git gud. There are probably a few ways to counter it that will be discovered as time goes on. Worst comes to worse maces will just be another end Crystal but 10x more stylish.
@@coach533 Yeah. Honestly the more I think about it I'm kind of excited to learn strategies to beat it. Speaking of end crystals those are probably the best counter since the hammer requires you fall from above.
I personally don't like the bad omen potion because it doesn't make sense that the pillagers will get revenge of their captain only when you drink their smoothie, but in terms of not accidentally starting a raid its nice
Agreed, maybe it would make more sense if the level of Bad Omen increases every time a player kills a pillager with a banner
if they wanted to keep it as a potion, maybe some pillagers could toss it at you like witches?
It's sad that this is basically ruining raid farms but it might be for the best since there op
@@Vibecisco101Does it ruin raid farms? I've not used one, but I've seen Ianxofour's video and from what I remember, the farm should still work, just in 1 hour & 40 minute intervals.
@@Elektrokardiogramm I mean I feel like there will definitely need to be some changes to some design or something cause it breaks how u automaticly get bad omen again maybe I'm wrong I'm definitely not a expert on this topic though
This opens so many opportunities for hard mode versions of different structures, imagine a desert temple or ocean monument with new effects and stronger Enemies.
0:12 you wouldn't believe me if I told you...
Poison and the infestation potion would be deadly. If it would spawn a silver fish it could kill you.
the oozing one combined with a mobfarm will make an insane slime farm
Mace with wind burst is gonna be my new favourite weapon; can't wait for the full update to drop!
"Goombah stomping" 😂🤣 Freaking LOVE it!
Bad omen has turned into the wilderness potion combo with dangerous mines from stardew
Setup a regen beacon, and stand on a magma block while also standing next to a cactus, hit yourself with the silverfish potion and see how fast you can get them to spawn lol
There will be a lot of changes to PvP, specially if the new effects can be applied to arrows. Imagine bed wars in floating islands and you see a team building a bridge. You hit one of them with a wind burst arrow and then you kill them, their whole team falls down. Or imagine you are being attacked and you are almost dead, so you put in yourself the wind burst effect. Now if they kill you they might fall down.
Infested is such a great concept of a potion effect because it makes the silverfish just as annoying as they used to be. I loved watching the silverfish piss off everyone cuz they kept multiplying and they're doing it again now
They actually made a new dimension LOL
0:11 Inb4 epic foreshadowing.
That slime potion is actually going to be super useful for redstoners, I can see them making a chicken spawner, and then having any leftover/baby chickens inside a chamber be hit with the slime potion where they can all be killed off with the slimes for lots of slimeballs. That would be a much easier way for players on fresh worlds to dive right into complex piston doors etc without having to make super complex slime farms or hope that theres a full moon in a swamp
I hate the new Bad Omen mechanics, because it goes against minecraft's quasi-lore.
Before it was somewhat logical - you kill a chief with a banner, Illagers start tracking you, then they attack a village that you went to for some rest in order to kill you and/or your "friends" (villagers). The only thing that was not logical was the fact that drinking milk somehow resets that.
Now Illager raids stopped being a revenge for one of their best ones, deserving a banner. Now it's a potion effect, that even gives you 30 seconds to drink some milk if you don't want to fight.
That’s so OP but so, so cool 😳
Yo the mace is gonna be the new Big Bertha from Orespawn just not a sword. Also, infestation potentially the worst potion effect ever.
Always good to see you show up in my feed, Spookles!
missed opportunity to finally have a use for the mundane and thick potions
Yoooooo new enchantments
not a fan of the auto wind charge jumps enchantments. takes away a chunk of the cool skilful stuff it had going for it. wind burst just seems like completely removing all the complexity the weapon would have otherwise.
Kinda reminds me of riptide. It's not very useful in most cases, at least not as useful as loyalty or channeling
@@prons_gaming5083Riptide is the only useful trident enchantment imo because the trident is just a terrible weapon so its only use is mobility with riptide (I've heard it's better on bedrock but on java it's just awful).
@@Eo-ms3kw not if you're farming ocean monuments. It's by far the best weapon for that scenario(when it has loyalty). It's also a ranged weapon that doesn't require ammunition. It's not the best weapon, no, but it's not bad by any means
@@prons_gaming5083 So it's useful for one (or two technically with the elder guardians) mob that only spawns in one specific structure? And unless you need an obscene amount of sponges for some reason you really will only go through a single ocean monument. It's incredibly situational.
@Eo-ms3kw what is your issue? Why is it such an issue that I like tridents? I think it's boring to only ever use a sword or an axe. And i love weapons in games that you throw and they return to your hand. I like them for that. They don't need to be the most useful item in the game to be enjoyable to use
feel like bad omen should have stayed as it was, no reason to change into consumable bottles just get the omen, then go to a village or vault for the effects. It's more convenient now, but also stops the challenge of having to not kill captains if you don't want the effect, plus raid farms don't work now
The oozing potion has the potential to make slimeballs significantly easier to farm. If you hit a bunch of mobs with a splash potion, then kill them all, the slimes that spawn could drop more slimeballs than were used to make the slime block.
Bruh is that power creep in Minecraft?
Rip 1.8 Combat Stans you can’t not like the mace now.
1.8 combat is stupid anyways.
Potion of oozing can have really good uses for simpler slime farms. One coild use a skeleton spawber, wait for those to pile up and splash them with oozing to get some slime. You'd get your slime used for the potion back and can repeat this as long as you have glass
I really like the direction Minecraft is going in this update. Not only does it feel like they’re putting more content and effort into these updates, it feels much more creative. I’ve always felt that potions were an underutilized feature, even with as many potions as there are now. Potions are mostly just nerfs or buffs, but unique special effects like this have a lot of room to make the game more interesting.
As for the mace, I love it. I think it’s a step towards a much better combat system that isn’t just whoever has better gear or can pull off more crits. I’d love for there to be a wide range of combat styles with different benefits, shortcomings and counters. I know many people prefer simplicity in combat, which is why 1.8 combat is as loved as it is, but I think people are just blinded by how poorly 1.9 combat was done.
The ominous bottles are also a great addition that have a lot of potential, I like that it has different effects in different places, which can start to reveal more RPG-like aspects of Minecraft.
But that’s enough yapping, I just felt like mentioning how I felt about the update. Really looking forward to what videos you might come up with when this update finally drops.

A beautiful new BLOO trial spawner!
1.21 is officially a mod. This is not Minecraft
if they ever bring back the old pvp combat. Skywars or bedwars will be a nightmare
I can see the Oozing potion actually being useful for people that don't like to build big farms and stuff. If they happen to get enough slime to make a block from strolling through swamps every now and then, they could throw a potion of oozing at a big group of enemies then the amount of slimes that spawn from it will probably be enough to make back all of the slime the potion took plus some more

With these new enchantments and structures, I can't wait for MatPa... I mean Game Theory to do another minecraft video for the ancient builders and whatnot
So, I suppose that means like 6 new effects for "How Did We Get Here" and the very particular circumstances that you have to line everything up is going to change a fair bit. I mean "Trial Omen" isn't really an issue I think, considering it gives you like a 15-minute timer, but considering "Raid Omen" is only like 30 seconds that might change things a lot for the set up considering you have to now make sure your location is right next to a village.
