    Maybe you should do a husband tag and you can make vid about paper work after entering in the U.K. like BRP collection, IN number and other rules regulations to follow so you won’t have problems with ILR

    Can you answer me on one question pls. I am applying for SET M form the question is : Were you originally granted leave on the basis of an application made before 9 July 2012 as a partner on the family route? Is it YES or NO to be answered. Thank you

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 4 lety

      Hmm, I’m not sure what a SET M application is but if you haven’t been granted a visa as a spouse/other family member before July 2012 then your answer would be no

    Hi Ruk&Fam! Thank you so much for the wonderful walkthroughs. They have been very helpful! Can I ask at what point do you send the (Original/photocopies) documents to Sheffeild. I take it this is after the biometrics, but can you suggest a timeframe for the documents to be sent to UKVI?

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi, thank you for watching my videos! I am glad you like them! If you are applying for priority, you’ll have 10 days after the biometrics appointment to send your supporting documents. If you are applying for a standard visa application then you will have to send the documents within 14 days after the biometrics appointment. Hope that helps answer your question. Good luck with your application :)

    Just to give whoever is applying for spouse visa .. they have a chance of calling you and doing a phone interview so be prepared. It will be a short depending on your application... I missed 2 calls from them but they will call back so don't panic just make sure you answer and your not intentionally ignore calls.. it will be a private number fyi ... best of luck x

    Hi, hope you are doing well.
    Your videos are really helpful. :)
    I'm from India and my husband is from the UK. We are in the process of making the application.
    Have couple of questions regarding the visa application :
    1. Can I produce all the required and supporting documents at the biometrics appointment rather than my husband posting it in the UK?
    2. Is Ielts mandatory? Would my degree be enough since it was taught in English, if so do I need to get certified from some Uknaric?
    3. Is inspection of the property/accommodation in the UK mandatory? Would a letter my father in law do instead?
    Thank you. 😊

    We are currently in the process of waiting on a decision. My husband wants to come visit me here in the US because he has off from work. His phone accepts calls everywhere he is even if he is not in the UK. So we’re good if we happen to be contacted. My question is: CAN he come visit? Im sure theres no restrictions for his traveling?

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 6 lety +1

      Aww I know it is really really hard. Especially when you can’t see an end to the process lol but we just lived through hope, we made plans, “when you come here we’re going to do this, going to do that”. Most of the time we kept positive about it but at times we did talk about what if it didn’t happen so we made a plan b. As crazy as it sounds having that there helped us a lot as well because it made us feel like this “refusal” didn’t have to be such a negative thing. My plan was to fly out and see him, then at least we have seen each other again cuz until then, I was stuck. Then we would re-apply and would have to wait only 3 months. That’s the trick, keep telling yourself it is “only” 3 months. 3 months normally fly by but I know when you’re waiting for something as big as this it feels like 3 years lol. But if you keep telling yourself it just makes it that little bit more manageable. I kept myself busy throughout. I work long shifts so that helped, spent a lot of time talking to my mum, spending time with my brother and started CZcams and it kept my mind off it. I was too busy to stress about it. I kept telling myself there is no point in stressing. I know that 3 months is when most people find out so why stress in month 1 and 2? If it happens that’s great but if in the week before month 3 it doesn’t, then I will allow myself to worry lol. Luckily that is when it did happen so I didn’t worry at all lol. This is so long, it’s like a video in itself. Advice on how to not worry lol

      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 6 lety

      Hi Shajibul, thank you for watching and welcome to my channel, I am glad you like the videos. You can go over and bring her over if you like, she will have a month to arrive so maybe go as soon as you find out. I wouldn’t advice going before however because they may call you to ask you some questions and you need to be available to answer that call. Not doing so could lead to a rejected application. Hope this helps. Good luck with your application :)

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 6 lety

      It took us just under 3 months to hear back. 87 days. They sent a text to my husband and told him that his “documents where ready for collection” (ie. his passport). So he went to the place he had his biometrics appointment and he found out once he looked in his passport.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 6 lety

      Aww no you’re not at all. Yeah pretty much just wait, that’s all you can do really. You may not even get the phone call lol. I didn’t, not everyone does. If your application is straightforward you may not either but stay here just in case. You don’t want to get so close to the end but fail just cuz of a silly mistake. Unfortunately no, we waited almost 3 months even though ours was straightforward

    Hello we recently got married and we need to apply for visa we have our wedding pictures but marriage certificate is not generate till now and our standard appointment is in near future can you please help me out that how should I deal with this situation

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi, thank you for watching my video. That is a really difficult situation really. You’ll have 14 days after the appointment to submit your documents, hopefully your certificate will come before then by if it’s a little late, it’s not too much trouble to send your documents a little late. Just means it may take a bit longer to get a decision.
      The only other thing I can think of is that you send the rest of your supporting documents as normal but include a letter to make them aware that your marriage certificate has not come in time however you will be sending it over to them separately when it does arrive.
      Then you can send it on it’s own when it does come writing the applicants name, gwf reference number and their city/country clearly on the envelope so they can match it with the application.
      I would double check this with a solicitor though as I’m not sure if that would be acceptable really. I just don’t know what else you could do really.
      Hope that helps somewhat and it arrives on time so you don’t have to go through all this. Good luck with the application :)

      Hi Meghna, it really didn’t take long. 15 days and they do say the latest you should apply is 15 days before but ours was a last minute holiday idea and so we only gave them 13 days notice. You can apply up to 3 months in advance for a schengen but like I said, it was all very last minute for us unfortunately. Hi! Welcome to the UK and thank you for watching! Yes, it is quite difficult to open up a bank account. You have two options really. Apply for a national insurance number online and then use that letter as you proof of address (though I don’t think all banks accept it, HSBC did). Or you can use your medical certificate to register at the doctors and ask them for a letter for your bank. Hope you get it sorted :)

      Hi Fadi, thank you for watching my video. The application process is different depending on the country you are applying from. My husband paid his at the biometrics appointment, where he handed in his passport but for some countries I know you can pay online, unfortunately it wasn’t an option for us. It will tell you once you submit you application form whether you can make the payment online or will have to do it at the appointment. How that helps answer your question. I would suggest you know your dates well, be able to quickly answer questions like yours and your husband's dates of birth, where you were both born, his UK address, how long he's been living there, when you both met (maybe a date), when you got married, when you last sae each other, where the sponsor works, how much they earn per annum, their job title, how long they've been working there. Those sorts of questions really. Best of luck with your interview, I hope it goes well! I know it's hard but try not to be too nervous, you can do this!! :)

In total, I would suggest you save £3k to one side for the whole application (without a solicitor/priority/documents scanning service). I think our spend was around £2.5k

    Assalamu alaikum sister,
    I have 2 questions. AlhamduliLlah I recieved the email to make the IHS payment and then collect the receipt and bring with my passport to submit at UKVI office so that my visa can be processed. (This is because we were initially refused, but the refusal was overturned via appeal.)
    1. Is there a deadline to submit the passport and receipt at the application center to get the visa stamped?
    2. Do the immigration officers still require to see documents even if you have a visa stamped? Or if your spouse travels back with you?
    Thanks so much for these informative videos!

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety +1

      Wasalam, thank you for watching my video! I am soooo happy to hear your appeal was successful!! Congratulations to you and your husband :D:D:D!!
      1. I'm not sure if there is a deadline, however, I would suggest you get it done as soon as possible as there will be a valid from and valid to date as it is not the official visa, the one they put in the passport is just a temporary one which allows the applicant to travel and you don't want to find you have either missed the travel date or you are having to rush over.
      2. Usually, in most cases, you don't have to show any documents but on occasions they can ask so I would suggest you travel with them if you can. Hubby and I still travel with some documents when we go out of the country even though he now has his actual visa, just in case they ever ask for them. We prefer to be prepared.
      Hope that helps answer your question! Good luck with your application :)

    Hi sister can you apply the visa from abroad and hand in all the supporting documents there instead of doing it in England Sheffield? Was there an option that you could make an appointment at the UK embassy in bangladesh to make the visa application for your husband? instead of doing in the UK (Sheffield)? I tried to make an appointment in Abu dhabi but they refused and told me to apply online and then through VFS GLOBAL which i did at the end.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 6 lety +1

      Hiya, thank you so much for watching. I don’t think you can apply at the UK embassy in Bangladesh. I think the application can only be done online. It can either on the UK government website or through vfs global. As for the supporting documents. I know you can have them scanned at the biometrcis appointment if you wish, I think you will also need to provide them with the photocopies as well (or you might have to send the photocopies at least to Sheffield). I’m not too sure on this. I know that if you have the documents scanned there is a cost and I’m not sure if all of them can be scanned or just certain ones. I’m so sorry, my answer isn’t much help but it’s not something I have any experience of unfortunately. Best of luck with your application :)

      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi Hiwi, Aww thank you so much and thank you for watching my video. Hmm, this is a complicated one and my answer is a thought, not what is correct so you should deffo check with a solicitor. For someone who is self employed, they need to show 1 years worth of wage slips and bank statements and that is the same for someone who is employed but in different jobs that are less than 6 months so I think as long as your husband can provide one years worth of wage slips and bank statements then you will be ok.
      The other things is, I’m not sure if they will count all the 12 months together to work out the yearly income that way or they will add the lowest monthly income and multiply that by 12 to work out the income.
      Hope I have helped answer your question a little but that’s definitely something you should speak to a solicitor about. Good luck with your application 😊

Going through our conversations each month and seeing what we wanted to include then arranging them on word, again very time consuming. @RuksanaAhmed  Před 4 lety

      Hi, an interview is no indication of how far they are with regards to you application. There is no way of knowing how much longer it will take for them to make a decision. The standard time frame is 3 months from application, it can be sooner and it can be later. Usually they don't ask much at the airport, my husband was unlucky but as mentioned in the video, if your wife can, she should carry any documents she has, have pictures on her phone and if you can take the original documents to the airport with you then that would be good too. She can always ask them to give you a call if they need to see the originals as my husband did but most likely they'll just ask her where she's coming from, why she's here and where she is going.

    • @lve23ku
      @lve23ku Před 4 lety +1

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 4 lety

      @@lve23ku You mean at the airport? They always ask those with visas where you've been, how long you were there and where you're going. That's just protocol. We've been on holiday 3 times and my husband was asked twice (the third time was Eurostar...can't remember them asking then). If you mean the questions he was asked when he first arrived. I think that was down to the specific person at the counter, no other person at the counter was being as "efficient" as him.
      When they call during the application process it is usually one of three reasons, either something with the relationship is not adding up (perhaps not enough pics of you guys with others, I don't know). Or they could call more regarding your financial documents (usually when people have 2 jobs I've noticed). Finally, because unfortunately yours was chosen at random. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If everything is genuine and you answered everything the same as your spouse/your employer/what you said in your application then you have nothing to worry about.

    How was the BRP collecting experience? How long did it take to arrive?

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi, it was really simple for us! My husband arrived 3 weeks after his visa was accepted and we went to our chosen post office the day after his arrival, showed them his passport and the letter that came with it saying his visa has been accepted and they handed it over...think he had to sign something to say he had got it too. You are supposed to collect the BRP card working 10 says of arriving in the U.K. Hope that helps answer your question :)

    • @waleedahmad5400
      @waleedahmad5400 Před 5 lety +1

      Ruks&Fam indeed Sister, I just read horrible stories that’s taking 3 months thus far and still not received.
      I wonder if one can travel without card??!! Especially those with visa-free passports such as Americans and Australians.

      Thanks for your replies, we really appreciate it.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi waleed, I think you are confusing the BRP card with the viganette sticker in the passport. The viganette sticker in the passport is a temporary visa given when the application has been approved, (approval can take 3 months). The temporary visa will have a 1 month validity on it which will allow you travel, that’s all you need. Once you are in the UK, you can then collect the BRP card which will be valid for 33 months. Hope that clears things up for you a little bit more.

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi, thank you for watching my video. They ring the sponsor's workplace to check that all the information provided in the application about the sponsor's workplace matches so they will ask their work questions like what they sponsor's job role is, how long they have worked there, what they get paid, etc. Hope that helps get your prepared. Good luck with your application :)

      @luckstar8697 Před 5 lety +1

      Ruks&Fam thank you. I wanted to go Bangladesh once I send my application off however, I heard they keep the passport for a few months. Is this correct??

    • @RuksanaAhmed
      @RuksanaAhmed  Před 5 lety

      Hi, they keep the applicant's passport but not the sponsor's as you only have to send a photocopy of the sponsor's passport. However, if you have sent the original passport than yes, they will keep it for a while, until they send the documents back which can take the full 3 months it takes to make a decision. Even if you do still have your passport still, I wouldn't advise you travel back home as someone I know did it and UKVI was trying to get through to them and couldn't and therefore the application was refused instantly. I wouldn't suggest you take that risk really.

      There’s are different categories you just apply through depending on your financial situation. With category A, the sponsor must have been in both jobs for 6 months or more. If not then you will need to apply through category B. It is all in the Appendix 2 form if you want to look at that. There is a link to the form in my description box

      Hi Neelam, thank you for watching my video! Aww, you are so sweet!! Oh the ielts test. You will need to take the A1/B1 test, depending on your level of English. A1 is beginner level and B1 is intermediate. Once you have passed that, the original certificate will need to be provided with the supporting documents.

      The English test is important, without it the visa will be refused instantly. I'm not really sure how many questions were asked but I know there are quite a few on a couple of different topics. The test is roughly 20mins long.
      We received our visa exactly 90 days after submitting our online application form.
