I'm so happy that you mentioned Versed Sunscreen. It's my HG. It fits my skin tone perfectly just like I am wearing nothing on my face. The consistency is not too oily or too dry and the ingredients also don't break me out (I'm very acne prone).

The Versed sunscreen is now 75ml for the same $25 price point. Also, an excellent (near identical) dupe for the UV Elements is the DRMTLGY Physical Tinted SPF 44, which is $12 cheaper. That Universal Tinted SPF 46 is still my holy grail sunscreen though, so I'm glad you mentioned it!

I can’t use DRMTLGY tinted sunscreen because it has naicinamide which Elta MD element don’t have. Naicinamide irritates and burn my face.

Omg. Thank you for explaining the the tint is made of iron oxides. I was confused bc I look on the ingredients of tinted sunscreen and I mostly see Zinc or another ingredient and that there was no iron oxide. Now I get it. Thank you for that. I subscribed today to your CZcams.

Kokua Sun Care is my favorite, it goes on clear and easy without all the chemical junk. I like the clear application and how long the 3 oz sunscreen lasts is incredible. I guess because I don't need to reapply as often as it stays on even through sweat.

I don't know why YT derms Love it!! The clear version pills and the tinted version driesmyskin out. Bothe Neutrogena and Elf have come out with Great tinted sunscreens (only SPF is only 30). Would try Versed but have dry skin. Didn't carefree Cerave when I tried it but my skin was oily then. May try again (Aussi Gold makes a pretty good one for normal/oily and is affordable)

Right now my favorite tinted sunscreen is actually the morphe glowstunner both for the consistency and shade range. I was actually really disappointed with the la roche posay fluid sunscreens in both the tinted and non-tinted formulas in the US. The color for the tinted version was incredibly orange on my fitzpatrick type 2 skin. I felt it would have worked if I used it more as a "topper" sunscreen over a regular sunscreen, but I wanted to use it as my sole sunscreen. It made me look like an oompa loompa. Meanwhile the non-tinted version was very white cast-y and borderline felt greasy. I also noticed it moved around a lot even after giving it time to set and transferred on all my clothing

I have tried a lot of tinted sunscreens. Avene (horrible color), la roche posay (the ones from Europe, many colors to choose from), colorscience, and Skinbetter. I seem to like Colorscience so far because of shade availability. I am trying more budget friendly options to save some money. I have super sensitive skin, so I tried the 2 newest sunscreens from Vanicream. Just add a sqirt of your favorite foundation for color, and you are fine. You probably need to go a little darker on the foundation for better color, but honestly, these sunscreens are pricey. I want to save my money 💰 for better treatment products. I just want to mention that the Vanicream sunscreens are very moisturizing. I do not use an additional moisturizer. Just my treatment product. 😉

  • @LoveABun
    @LoveABun Před rokem +12

    Great video, thank you!
Wish you would have demoed the Avene one. That one intrigued me! I like the thought of sunscreen as my foundation.
I have used 3 of these:
*CeraVe-a very nice, light, relatively inexpensive sunscreen. Even though it’s marketed as hydrating, my normal to slightly dry skin finds it a bit drying. I have to wear either Vanicream Daily Face Moisturizer or CeraVe PM Face Moisturizer under it. But I recommend anyone on a budget try this one. You really can’t beat the CeraVe brand for skincare science and effectiveness!
*Elta MD Clear-this looks good, disappearing into skin. But I’m in my mid 60s and have found my skin having gotten quite sensitive, even with mineral sunscreens. I believe it’s important to apply sunscreen to the eyelids, but most sunscreens including mineral ones cause my eyelid skin-and sometimes my whole face-to sting. Also, my eyes will burn from the off gassing of the sunscreen, particularly chemical ones. I also think there’s an ingredient in mineral sunscreens that causes irritation. All this to say, the Clear causes me irritation so I had to give it up.
*Elta MD Elements-love it! No irritation and the tint makes for a nice foundation. I just don’t love the price. I don’t believe we have to pay that much to get a sunscreen that provides good protection and is acceptable from a visual standpoint!
There is another tinted sunscreen I use and recommend: “Australian Gold Botanical 50 Tinted Face”. It is actually a BB cream that comes in 3 colors-fair to light, medium to tan, rich to deep. Does not irritate my skin or eyes! The fair to light tint on my Caucasian skin essentially disappears. It is water resistant. 3 oz tube. Very affordable. The only thing I don’t like is washing it off because it’s somewhat thick. I use a cleansing balm followed by Vanicream Gentle Face Cleanser.
Neutrogena has just come out with a tinted sunscreen that a lot of YTers are raving about including Dr. Dray. It’s a bit on the expensive side, so I haven’t tried it.
For super sensitive skin, Vanicream’s face sunscreen can’t be beat for gentleness. It’s totally clear. It is, however, quite greasy and shiny and that greasiness lasts a good long while on your face. But it gives superb hydration and I can slather it on my eyelids with no issues. I just don’t think it would work well with makeup, but around the house it’s fine and feels good.

If you are looking for a tinted sunscreen that’s more hydrating I recommend going the chemical filter route if you’re okay with them. I agree, I often find mineral sunscreens to be more drying bc of formula with zinc, one I really been loving is from Elf. Otherwise try the Cerave

I thought Josh below was trying to say that Versed is more $ than DRMTLGY when it is exactly the opposite. Versed is the same $ at Walmart and Amazon. I had Mohs surgery about 2 mos ago and use the CeraVe which is really thick and a little goes a long way but you waste a lot of it because the hole to squeeze it out is so big and it's hard to get 'a little' out. It is good for older sensitive dry skin and leaves (not a fan of this) a super dewy complexion look which I tone down with Physician's Formula CC Powder. Hoping I can find a replacement. My dermatology says use whatever SPF you want just make sure you use a 'mineral' sunscreen.

Do you have any feedback on ISDIN's tinted sunscreen?

it's my favorite. Very lightweight and love the tint color. If you prefer a sunscreen that's thin and not cakey on the skin you will love this one. i keep it on our boat and don't mind reapplying because of the thin consistency

I hate Cerave tinted sunscreen. Thick and ultra shiny. My brother asked me what was on my face because it was so shiny.

tinted is nice but it stains the clothes and so hard to wash off. I'm ready to switch to non tinted.
