I´m portuguese, i had 10 yo when i saw this performance on tv. I said to my mom- "Mummy, i´m sure you don´t need to see the other songs. UK will win for sure!" She said- "Are you crazy?"... Two hours laters, she understood i wasn´t crazy...
Who's here again for 2023??.... Bucks Fizz were great back in the early 80's 😎💯
Long live Terry Wogan. RIP
Catchy song deserved the win!! UK on top form back in 1981!!
Brilliant song very uplifting glad we won this Eurovision song contest 40 years ago now watched this in 9181 and now watching it again in june 2021 this song still has that wow feel about it🎶🎵🥰…………..Kimberley 🇬🇧
When I listened to it as a child I liked it so much that I preferred it to win instead of my country to listen to it again.
That's nice to hear 😊
Hey remember when the UK actually cared
The best songs of the 2000's
2002
2014
2017
You mean when when the rest of Europe didn't hate us,lol
richard wilcox Well after all the British Brexit poison against us in the continent , it’s huge now!!!
The UK fans still care just the BBC dont...

Nobody hates uk
I liked last years song and 2018...
This music make me happy ☺
Sung with such joy and energy a worthy winner.
Joy and energy ……judging from their eyes and era they were in. Should imagine they were flying high lol 😂
you could be right @@lorrenaelliott161 🤣
I was 7 years old in 1981 and i fondly remember that song!
Cheryl's legs won that for uk
I am four years older than you- 11 and moving from junior to senior school in 1981! Remember the song well.
Bucks Fizz are an Abba styled band from the UK and also won the Eurovision Song Contest like ABBA. Make sure you watch a video for the “surprise” 😀
not as good as brotherhood of man though
@@pastorbri 😂
Joyfull and so great , they did deserve to be the winners , love from France !
Merci beaucoup
Still love the song 🎵 ❤️ after all these years
Love that song and what did for that group and 40 years on they are still singing making your mind up well done fizz for win the Eurovision fizz for every🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️💙💚💛💜🤍💖💝💗💓🎶🎤🎵🎸🎼🍾🥂
the best in Eurovision story
Lets be honest, it doesn't get much better than this!!! I remember that night well..
Those jumpers the guys are wearing are the most 1980's thing i've ever seen.
I remember Bucks Fizz! when in my last year at junior school. I wasn't yet eleven at the time and an impressionable kid. Takes me back to a less complicated era with no social media or a preponderance of gadgets. Good time to be young!
2023...this is the meaning of eurovizion!! Love you england to moon and back!! Grear song and beautiful.singers!! Kisses from cyprus!!
Brilliant song, loved Mike Nolan and Bobby Gee in this, well done to Bucks Fizz for winning.
This song is a shot of pure good vibe 😀
So fun and catchy.
It has to be one of the best all-around songs ever..
Life is life. ...
y
YOU MUST BE TRIPPING, THE GIRLS ARE HORRBILE SINGERS AND SPOIL THE WHOLE SONG.
What always gets me is Jay Aston checks to make sure that her skirt isn’t completely ripped off
happy 2023 year to all !! kisses from Switzerland Gstaad
Cyprus...❤❤❤
1981 I was 16 years old 2023 I'm 58 this song reminds me of my teenage days
I am five years younger than you, as I was 11 in 1981 and moving from junior to senior school that year. Reminds me of that transition period! (Now aged 53).
the song it fantastic 🤗
I remember I really loved this one😊❤
thanks to the Eurovision musical event that founded some the talant and music we grew up with in the 70s and 80s
Can't believe this won.
You didn't see the others!
Of course I have.@@G6JPG
Making your mind up. Good memories wonderfull song, we. See with my family all eurovision festival when I was young. Very good moments what stay with me ever.
A great performance from all of the guys, they really were on top form. Worthy winners
I agree with you on winning, however I have to say that this performance was far from top notch... I have heard the three versions of this.... The Eurovision performance, The Song for Europe perrformance, and the studio cut version.. The Song for Europe was the best... Something happened here, I do not know if it was nerves but there are times when they are way out of pitch.
Worthy winners, but the performance was BAD.... The one in yellow was very off key, and a song for Europe was top-notch, this was a downgrade..
I love this so much.
Can't believe this was 38 years ago
It was - I was not yet eleven and in my last year at junior school back then. Now aged 53!!!
The Greatest British Eurovision winner by a landslide.
Used to do this dance at the disco great one on 😃❤😃❤
I recall from that year, seeing one of the Presentation- Shows of all the ESC - Contenders at an acquaintance's place, where also a bloke, whom I thought was a Complete Tosser, to say the least (For reasons not relevant bringing up here) had popped by, sat and watched the Show. When Buck's Fizz came up with "MYMU", he annoyingly loud proclaimed "THAT'S The Winner! I'm POSITIVE!" And I muttered "Yeah-Yeah Sure, Mate". As it happened, he also was around the evening of the ESC- Final, and when B.F. actually DID win, (to my shocking surprise), he said " I KNEW it! Do you remember that I'd said that?" I couldn't really refuse to that and replied shortly; "Yes, You DID say that". (But He still was a Complete Tosser!) :-D
The outfits made my eyes burn
There are so many Carry On puns in this that only the English would get lol
No, we all see this is one, long, glorious double entendre ;)
Can't believe those outfits were ever fashionable, but nevertheless beautiful memories.
Fashionable and eurovision usually don't mix
"Don't let your indecision take you from behind" 🤣
Fantastic. Didn't they do the UK proud! As a "Generation X" I always say this was our "World Cup 1966" moment!
They had a lot of success with that song...
The guy in blue is absolutely gorgeous and Jesus Christ the guy in green looks like Paul McCartney in a blonde wig haha xxx
I think the guy in the green looks more like actor Andrew McCarthy in a blonde wig!
@@holzapfelstein I just had to Google who that was and I agree he does xxx
@@Tyler_Mills26 - Yes! Thank you! I should have emphasized he looked like Andrew McCarthy THEN (back in those "Pretty in Pink" days) as opposed to now.
It was the best song of the night, flattered by an orchestra which fortunately drowned out Jay Aston's semitone off pitch, and the novelty of the skirt removing distinguished it from the German and Swiss entries snapping at its heels.
Jay could have literally ruined it for them😂😂
It was Cheryl singing off key
Paul McCarthy I was thinking the same thing - after the key change one of the girls is very flat and bit screechy, at the beginning one of the guys is also quite flat.
Thankfully the juries judge based on the jury final the night before (or at least I am certain they still did back then, they were doing so in the 90s at least). That probably helps to explain it too.
That’s Cheryl who’s off not Jay
Me encantó esta canción
love that skirt rip
Me encanta y me sigue gustando
Timeless ❤️❤️❤️
Bucks Fizz , Making Your Mind Up and Terry Wogan. Those were the days. Rule Britannia! God Save the Queen.
Tema maravilloso, yo llevaba ese mismo pelo. Ojalá la gente joven deje de raparse la cabeza. Vivan las melenas masculinas!!
Muy gracioso 😂
Wowww o love it❤❤❤❤
Terry Wogan realised what a politicized con the eurovision song contest had become.
Watched this live at the time. Great song deserved to win. Its the orchestra sound that's a bit off putting. Loved all the music they've produced. 😊
the music was 'on tape' for bucks fizz. You could choose. Ochestra or on tape. Bucks Fizz is on tape :)
@@LVDvideo the rythem track was on tape (hence why John Coleman wore headphones) with the string and brass sections of the orchestra playing along.
@@richardyoung1053 could be. But the drum track is on tape, right?
@@LVDvideo yes 99% certain the drum track was on tape
Great dance, lovely song, and I'm no vocal expert but 2:02 and 2:20 just don't sound right
Cheryl Baker says she was so nervous that she accidentally sang one key higher than the rest of the group.
I saw a more modern remake of this. Still sounded great. Also fun, the ladies ripped the men's pants down to shorts. Turn about is fair play! Fun tune.
nice
There was actually a gaffe, where they gave the girls the lead mics and the men the backing mics. It should have been the other way around, as the lead mics are much louder. Which is why the high backing vocals are so prominent. But it's still a really good vocal performance/harmony, so you can see how talented they all were
The gaffe was the second time they had to perform the song, the guys had the right lead mics for this first time round, they didn't care about the second time as they had already won.
Super Musik 😊
Excelente musica com bom video Kiváló zene jó videóval
Greatest song of all time
you have been in lock down far too long darling lol
Get out more.
@@BlytheWorld1972 ha ha !!!!!!
Divertidisimos
That was the fastest 3 minute song I’ve ever listened to
I made my mind up years ago...Cheryl Baker
Emly starr from Belgium had to win that year with "Samson and Delilah"!
Used to dance to this in Andrea’s house !
This song is ageless, does not matter how many years pass it annoys as in 1981.
👍👍👍
**Super old song 👍💯🌟**
Oh, this was such amazing music!!!!
I am glad, but I am amazed they won with Cheryl Baker's off-key wailing
😍Bravo!!!!!
*Joyful* *and* *so* *great* *They* *did* *deserve* *to* *be* *the* *winners* 💗
Love the song put performance wasn’t great on the night.
1:37 we tried to dance like this but never succeeded (I'm member in a dance club)....but my feet are moving all alone with the swing of the melody
PARCHIS *Me vas a volver loco*
I'd like to think now, anno 2024, that this song won more because of the act than because of the music/singing.
Buck's fizz=cocktail of champagne and lemon juice (buck's club in London).
Making your mind Up, thinking better of it
Back then, when you took "Le Grand Prix de la Chanson" still serious.
❤❤❤❤❤
We won with this
Jay Aston is Stunning
великолепно
We always care ! We just don't do very well 😜
I jived with the girls in 85 in Ireland.
No ABBAs were harmed in the making of this performance.
I was into English language so much at this time
I was very good in English in Portugal
My English teacher was Portuguese but she looked like more English when she was younger
Jó.
Won't be any more if we leave Europe right now they need to listen to this
No coment.🤔. La rubia de rojo era muy salada.(para ser britanica)👍.
Terry Wogan was rightly paid for the

The best song to have won the ESC was 2007 winner Molitzva by Serbia
Such a powerful song
💖💖💖👍👍👍
I've just ripped my ears off. Ahhh... that sounds better.
