- Brotherhood of Man performing (and cutely dancing to) "Save Your Kisses for Me", the UK entry at the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest.
After winning that year's vote by one of the largest margins in ESC history, this song became one of the biggest hits to come out of the contest, even scoring big in the US (something quite rare for a Eurovision entry). It especially soared in the British charts, of course, where the group subsequently had two more #1 hits with songs "Figaro" and "Angelo".

Probably the most British British Eurovision entry in history, long live the 70s
Just ABBA that was more British...
@@guro7151 i don’t know what you mean but abba is from sweden
@@matiasleon2323 I guess he meant that only ABBA sounded more British than the actual British acts
Best decade of my life!👍🏻😀
they aren't a abba rip-off, brotherhood of man was formed in 1971/1972 with abba in 1973/1974
my dad used to sing this song to me and my baby sister when he would be goin to work on docks R.I.P DAD OUR WORLD XXXX
The moment I realized this song is a parent singing to their kid I almost died from the feels
Joe Tiff pretty sure it’s just a pure innocent song.
I love your name
Ida when people read to much into shit
sarah dilwort
my stepdad used to stand me on the counter and sing this to me when I was really young
When this enthusiastic band came out to sing first, my mother said: They are going to win. And they won. What a beautiful memory of my childhood.
Bales gack
ma mère aussi !
This story is lovely
🥺
Thank you for sharing your memory
I heard this song on my dad’s AM radio station all the time growing up. My dad recently passed away so I looked up the song out of curiosity. It hit me so hard in the feels when I realized it’s a parent singing to their child. All of those memories hearing this song have a whole new context and I’m all the more grateful for those countless previously-mundane memories ❤️
I love you dad.
I'm so sorry for your dad this is making me emotional
Thanks for sharing this.
Indeed. That last line is a wonderful jest upon audiences!
When my daughter was twelve, I played this song for her...she seemed to like it, but when she heard the line "even though you're only three"...she looked at me and said "aaawwww"!!!!!...and almost cried because it was so adorable...
I remember them winning it my dad was so.happy just shows how simple life was in those days well done guys xx
Какие британки безгрудые!! Сисек совсем нет!!!!
Simple? Open class warfare, electricity blackouts, no wonder we needed punk rock.
The song is now 45 years old - and has lost none of its fascination. It cannot be overestimated that it was played live by a "real" large orchestra and - with the exception of the electric bass - completely without electronics. As an arranger, you had to think about how to set the orchestration (I like what the pianist plays especially well), the musicians still had to read notes and the drummer had to keep the exact tempo and everyone would play together and rely on each other can. It is a shame that in our short-lived times only relatively few do the work and still work with orchestras. An evergreen, still not a bit old-fashioned or boring - and it's nice that the four - aged with dignity - are still standing together on stage! Great! Greetings from Germany near Cologne to Great Britain.
I so agree with you! This performance is amazing and is so rarely seen these days: live performance with an orchestra. A truly enjoyable experience!

I totally agree. If I heard the prerecorded version of this I would be absolutely stumped if someone asked me to arrange an orchestral version. The idea of light music (music that isn't classical which could include any genre otherwise) being played by an orchestra amazes me.
Feeling nostalgic. :) This old Europe looks so pure, sweet and innocent now. Lost forever...
How far back would you like to go for the "old Europe"?
70s and early 80s - my childhood. :)
MY childhood too. We were living in the time of the cold war and MAD so hardly pure or innocent.
Well, "looks"was the key word in what I said. :) I understand that everything is relative. But still... don't you miss for example the good old female model? Somehow softer and more feminine. There is much more agression in girl singers today which probably reflects our own agression.
Are we sure rape rates have dropped? Try to look for a title "Which EU countries have the highest rate of sex crimes" in Google.
Слезы так и наварачуют от таких красивых песен тех прекрастных времён хочется вернутся в то время .
this is so ridiculously delightful
a time when the eurovision song contest was judged on the song and not politics , a true classic from the long hot summer of 1976, pure magic
I agree.
It was judged by politics and it was at that time when there was a lot of hate to Greece
👏👏👏👏👏
That was when it was a song contest and not a tv (money) show.
Or judged on the quality of the special effects.
I was born 1992, this song feels so good. No wonder, it soared high. Anyone, 2020?
I was born in 1994, yet I adore listening it
This was the year after I left school. Remember it well.
Wow I was born in 72 and remember hearing it lots by parents and grandparents
Year 1997 here 🙋
My song I was born in 1976
I know some people do not want to believe this but this song became the biggest selling Eurovision single of all time. I repeat biggest selling EUROVISION SINGLE. It is catchy. I love this song. Always puts me in a good mood. Thank you EUROVISION.
I bet you are English
It's Waterloo, not Save your kisses for me.
+Mario Cool 2 i dont know what do you mean
+andres segui Oh yeah,i thought Waterloo was the best-selling Eurovision single. But i watched WatchMojo's video ''Top 10 Eurovision songs'',and found out it was Save your kisses for me.
+Mario Cool 2 ok i watch that too
The great times where there was still an orchestra present.
Right up until 1999, the hosts were still required to provide a live orchestra for any performer that requested it.
Yes and I think it was a throwback to the 1960s for those who wished to cling on to that time.
so true , now its down below zero !
Orchestra indeed is what makes the music a sound not a banging noise
I love this song! One of the cutest songs ever written for the Eurovision. I still play it in my car from time to time to bring back good memories.
I always listened to this with my dad and when he passed away last year I even played it on the funeral day as on of the songs
Classics
It is a catchy song i meet brotherhood of man as well a lot of times as well
You're blessed to have enjoyed growing up with a father. I am sure that he was a good person. Thanks be to God for your great fortune.
So moving..you made me cry..I lost mine last year too and i feel him in every song that i listen in every bird that is flying. Bless you and the soul of your father rest in peace ❤️🌿
The 3 year old that this song was sung to is now 49 years old and probably sung this song to their own 3 year old that is probably now in their 20s. Time flies, and I love the 1970s Eurovision more than any other era of Eurovision.
I can remember my sisters Dad singing this to me whenever he was posted away from home.
Good memory and a happy tear.

Music that evokes happiness. A long, lost art.
In other words: "That's nice!"

People were happy back then
Oui oui !
True, I was happy back then - but not when I had to listen to utter rubbish like that - especially when there was so much great music around!

I agree. The UK struck again in '81 with "Making Your Mind Up" by Bucks Fizz
This song & dance routine is so cheerful & innocently happy, it really warms my heart. It's so cute when they hold hands & sway together!
This was the REAL Eurovision, not garbage of this days !!!
So you think Dschinghis Khan from Germany in 1979 is not "garbage"?

Han pasado 44 años de esta maravillosa canción. 1 9 7 6. EUROVISIÓN. De las mejores que han pasado por eurovisión.
Ten years ago, when my interest in Eurovision resurfaced, I only thought this was an amusing song of the times, and preferred the likes of France to win. Now, however, I am unable to resist this song's charm - I knew every word after only a few listens, and the dance routine after only an additional few. Such a sweet, earnest song about a father's love for his child can only make you feel good. A most deserved winner for the UK, an evergreen classic (even though I love France too!).
setheurovision94 I would really like France or Monaco to win, and I really thought this song is too unsophisticated-but yes, like you, my views have changed and I genuinely appreciate this song's simplicity and catchiness. It sounds so timeless!
Belgium and Yugoslavia are much more to my taste, and have aged better, but I can see why this won at the time.
If time travel ever becomes possible I’m going back to 1976 and staying there!!! ❤😊
I'm still back here 😍😍😍 the best song ever from eurovision 💕
And then it rocketed off into continuous radio play.. The entire unusual and very hot & dry summer of 1976 in Europe.
Какая музыка, какое исполнение!!! Браво!!!где сегодня всё это?
Неужели эстрада по всему миру не вернётся на такой профессиональный уровень ((( очень жаль ((( печаль печально всё это.

Before he goes to work a father says goodbye to his 3 year old daughter and asks her to "Save all your kisses for me"
Although it hurts to go away it's impossible to stay
But there's one thing I must say before I go
I love you (I love you) you know
I'll be thinking of you in most everything I do
Now the time is moving on and I really should be gone
But you keep me hanging on for one more smile
I love you (I love you) all the while
With your cute little away will you promise that you'll save
Your kisses for me save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye don't cry honey don't cry
Going to walk out this door but I'll soon be back for more
Kisses for me save all your kisses for me
So long honey so long hang on baby hang on
Don't you dare me to stay 'cause you know I'll have to say
That I've got to work each day and that's why I go away
But I count the seconds till I'm home with you
I love you (I love you) it's true
You're so cute honey gee won't you save them up for me
Your kisses for me save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye don't cry honey don't cry
Going to walk out this door but I'll soon be back for more
Kisses for me save all your kisses for me
So long honey so long hang on baby hang on
Don't you dare me to stay 'cause you know you've got to save
Your kisses for me save all your kisses for me
Bye bye baby bye bye don't cry honey don't cry
Won't you save them for me even though you're only three

Yeah! Thanks to England and its shells with the depleted Uranus, now in Ternopol, Lviv and Warsaw, 500 years will be light from radiation infection and oncologists fun. As the saying goes, the old Russian proverb "Not a swarm of another hole ..."
ВСЕ ТАК НЕ БУДЕ! БУДЕ ЩЕ ГIРШЕ!
A live orchestra to accompany the turns. Them were the days...
And the sound of the voice of the presenter that came over a phone line!
And now - eurovision is a parade of freaks! Facepalm
The problem with modern day Eurovision is that they would need at least 2 orchestras to accompany them, there are too many countries participating. One orchestra for 43 entries?! They would be exhausted!
IceCranberry maybe 3 orchestras is needed for 43 countries, Because there's semi final 1 and 2 and grand finale.
Lol .. when we called them the turns...those were the days 😀
From the days when music was fun.
Do singers still smile these days?
Yes, however it is now upto you to find them instead of being spoon fed.
only when their paid
They are too busy twerking, tweeting and making scandal and controversy, so nobody notices that they have no talent.
Better than anything in 2023. I was at my friend’s parents’ 25th wedding anniversary part and I remember they stopped the disco and announced that Brotherhood of Man had won Eurovision. Great song.

i used to hear this music evry morning cause it gave me energy .
First out and won. The 70s were amazing

The song that got me into Eurovision. Found an article ranking British Eurovision entries on a lark, and this was the first video I watched. Sweet, sentimental, makes me smile. Takes me back to that amazing summer in Oxford in 2017, learning about music, absorbing British culture, and discovering the wild and wacky world of Eurovision for the first time. I'll never forget it.
