  • Finally decided to build some doors fitting the house for a spandrel closet I overhauled last winter. Pretty simple build but I tried to make it as rustic as possible with the wrought nails and a custom built pull ring.

Wow great job, where did you get the black decor nails? I'm about to try and construct bi-fold for a tiki bar I made.

I had them leftover from another project and decided to use them to dress up the door a little. Think I got them online. Just look for wrought nails on Amazon and you should find what you're looking for.

Hello. How obtain final color of wood?

From research I've been doing on thinking about making a door. Most bifold brackets say they will accommodate door thickness up to 1 3/8". When it comes to the bracket does the thickness of the door really matter?

Great looking and workmanship sir! But it seems that with all that dimensional lumber,it would be rather heavy for off the shelf bi-fold hardware. How is it holding up?

That's what I was a concerned with when I started, that the doors would be too heavy for the runner. But it's holding the load just fine and the two doors are not much heavier than the hollow core ones that I couldn't stand.

That's good to hear. I've been contemplating doing something very similar.
      I appreciate the reply.
Once again great looking and workmanship.
Have a great day and be safe sir.

What type of wood did you use?

Just some simple shiplap I doubled up. The cross members I used some cheap utility boards that I scraped all the loose material off.
