Some pastors don't think they are teaching well unless they can say at least once in a sermon, "This is going to BLOW YOUR MIND and be something you've likely never heard before." He’s preaching with a style they would call “revelation”. This style is very popular in charismatic / Pentecostal circles. I remember when I was younger coming out of these types services saying that was deep, but not actually understanding what they were trying to convey. 😂

My question is, why are these guys making simple and straightforward scriptures more difficult than it has to be? Regarding comment at 2:12..Be careful not to add as you are trying illustrate. 😉Mathew 6:5 didn't actually add that"Hell would be their reward". It actually said they received their reward "in full". Implying that the accolades are their rewards.
In the Anglican liturgy (and many others) the sermon is followed by The Nicene Creed. At least part of the reason for that is so you can compare the sermon with an outline of the faith.

I am beginning to notice, however, a subtle pattern emerging. Many, if not most, of your presentations deal with individual men and women who are inaccurate expositors of the word. In your famous words, “I get that.” However, like corrupt politicians, it’s the people that vote them into office. Likewise, it’s the parishioners that encourage this behavior. Why? Perhaps they, too, want their “ears tickled” or maybe due to a lack of knowledge and discernment. Either case, it seems to me there is an imbalance between “calling folks out” and simply teaching the word. Teach the word void of the theatrics, my brother. Many scriptures sometimes require word study, cross-reference, and research which are all part of good Biblical studying. My question is, why are these guys making simple and straightforward scriptures more difficult than it has to be? As one of my professors once said: why try to sound deep and prove yourself brilliant? If you simply read the Bible you will see the deep treasures of the Word and the brilliance of God's power.

Incidentally, Pro 23:9 does not apply. In context, Pro 23:9 states one should no waste his words on a fool because he will not receive or appreciate the wisdom of his words, but despise them. It’s in line to what Jesus said in Mat 7:6. In any event, Corey is warning his viewers and not speaking to the man in the video.

In the Anglican liturgy (and many others) the sermon is followed by The Nicene Creed. At least part of the reason for that is so you can compare the sermon with an outline of the faith.

Teacher Corey, I am fairly new to your channel. I truly appreciate the way you explain scripture and refute falsehood with decency and tact. I am beginning to notice, however, a subtle pattern emerging. Many, if not most, of your presentations deal with individual men and women who are inaccurate expositors of the word. In your famous words, “I get that.” However, like corrupt politicians, it’s the people that vote them into office. Likewise, it’s the parishioners that encourage this behavior. Why? Perhaps they, too, want their “ears tickled” or maybe due to a lack of knowledge and discernment. Either case, it seems to me there is an imbalance between “calling folks out” and simply teaching the word. Teach the word void of the theatrics, my brother. You’re doing great but pride is slowly creeping in undetected. In love.,🙏🏽
Yep Corey’s pride have him lost and believing his interpretation of scriptures are sound meanwhile it’s under the same scrutiny he gives, but he doesn’t get called out for his. The pot calling the kettle black. He judges others falsely with no spiritual basis. Just his own opinion masked as if he’s the authority on scripture interpretations though he’s not.
@@RealLadyG I won’t co-sign that Teacher Corey is lost-that would be a judgement call. I’m merely pointing out that knowledge can subtly puff one up; almost undetected. When that happens we can lose sight of our ambassadorship to dispense lovingly without fault-finding (if possible). I feel his grasp on scripture is solid.
