- I bought this Range Rover hoping for a quick fix (thought it was a fuel injection problem) but instead I got a many month long fix with this Range Rover 4.4 TDV8 after the engine needed to be rebuilt completely.
Never use a main dealer. Never. Use a specialist independent
Loved my old l322 but love my l405 a lot more it’s worlds apart from the old dated l322
there's a separate fan belt just for the alternator, low down on the left side when looking into engine. you want to check that its not broken, and alternator is spinning. this charges the battery, -the main serpentine belt runs the power steering though. strange it happens so soon after engine out work though.
Spot on! That is exactly what the problem was. I have managed to get a replacement and the car is back on the road. Video is ready now just doing some final edits. Thanks for the advice.
Alarm going off is probably the bonnet switch needing replacing
Use an AGM battery for all LCD dash versions. Change interior bulbs to LED.
Sounds like the aux belt has come off or snapped hence no power steering. Alternator is probably knackered and most likely you'll need a new battery as well. Get yourself a GAP IID tool.
Which Land Rover garage did you get to carry out the work?
What codes is it throwing up? Get a decent diagnostic reader on it that is designed for an LR such as the GAP IID Bluetooth. Most cheap ones are total rubbish
soeaking about power and all tht torque bt takes for ages to hit 50 🤦♂️ gearbox is slugish in these …
This is running the 8 speed ZHP gearbox running in the current Lamborghini Urus, Rolls Royce and every BMW, Mercedes and AUDI en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZF_8HP_transmission
You’ve clearly never had one or driven one
You’ve obviously never owned or even driven the 4.4TDV8 with the 8 speed box. Or learnt to spell.
