I was super excited to try this because my garage gets super cold in the winter . So far it has worked pretty well but I feel like my white glitter on one of my cups has yellowed a little . Has anyone else had this problem ? I use amazing clear cast epoxy .
The yellowing would be from your Epoxy turning yellow. Pretty much all epoxy will yellow some over time but heat can sometimes cause it to yellow a little faster. I now use Tumblerpoxy and don't have any problems with my epoxy yellowing. I hope this helps answer your question.
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you for the reply ! But yeah , I should probably invest in some better epoxy lol . Other than that this is genius! I am able to get more done in shorter time . Thank you for the video !

I cannot find the link to this heater and hose, and I desperately need it because my epoxy is not curing completely. Do you have a new link to this boot dryer/heater? Thank you for your valuable video!
Wow đ€©,whatâs the heater called please and thank you
I have a newbie question......do you wait for a while after you first epoxy to set your heat box up? I'm just curious because I know that heat on a freshly epoxied item, makes the epoxy move. And one last question.....I only have a double turner and a single. So I think the set up I would use would be to put the box upside down on top of my 3 turners. Do you think that would be to much heat without a really good vent like what you have? Thank you Kristi! You are a very talented lady!!
I don't usually wait too long before putting them in the heater box. Maybe 30 mins or so while I work on other projects. With the cups spinning, the epoxy usually stays on without dripping, even under the heat. If you were to have your heater box upside down, it may be a lot of heat for your tumblers but I would at least give it a try. If it turns out to be too much heat, you can always cut a vent in the box for the excess heat to escape. :) Thanks for watching!!!
Once dry After the 2hrs do you apply another layer of epoxy ?
I just saw an epoxy heater on Amazon...laughed and thought, I can make one of these for a few bucks! Lol. Knew I wasnât the only one who laughed at the almost 200 dollar epoxy heater thinking that ;). Also, I live in Florida, so I can just take my portable spinners outside and put a container over them.
Lol!!!! Yeah I wasn't about to spend that kind of money on something so simple.. the weather in Florida is amazing right now so it's super nice to work outside.
Can it be any heater ? Beautiful my other heaters donât have to insert a attachment idk if that one does have like something to attach
Yes, you can use any heater, just cut the side open large enough so the heater can blow in there.
Would this keep the dimples out of my epoxy on my cups?
Do you remember what size that tote is? What are the measurements? And thanks for the hack -- totally brilliant!
The tote I used is 30"x20"x14" it's a 27 gallon tote đ

Really don't need a hole saw just mark the size of the heater hose and use a soldering iron to melt the plastic and create a hole... thank you for this information very helpful...how do you keep the fumes/chemicals from the epoxy from escaping all over the place?
That's a great idea! Thanks! You are always supposed to use PPE and work in a well ventilated space when working with epoxy, the heater box doesn't change that.
Hello great idea my question is if I took the tote and turned it upside down on my cup and put a hole in it like your second one and put the heater in front of the hole would that be to much heat, Thank you for sharing
It's hard to say but it would probably be ok. You won't know until you try it! I keep my cups pretty warm when they are inside the heater box so it won't hurt to try! đ
Ok thank you I will try, Thank you again for sharing
I just made one!!!!!how do u deal with air bubbles?I donât have them usually but this made them come out a lot more
I don't have any issues at all with air bubbles. What kind of Epoxy are you using? Maybe try letting the epoxy harden slightly before putting it inside the drying box (maybe 30 mins or so) to see if it helps. Also I always pop any microbubbles with my blow torch.
I use counter culture!I think it was because I didnât have a space between the bucket and the table and it got to hot but it works great!
@@Aliciamarie1990 ooh yeah.. try letting it breathe a little bit so it doesn't get too hot. I'm so glad that it works great for you! đ„°

I've seen this tip from several of you pro tumbler makers and I thought it was exciting. I got the fan with attachment from Amazon and I tried it. After the first hour, it melted my pvc pipe! Then, instead of drying my tumbler it ended up SUPER sticky. Why is that? Help! I would love for this heater trick to work but I'm lost as to why it didn't work for me. Thanks so much!
Oh my goodness! I use it with my PVC pipe all the time and never have any issues. I have found that I can't use it with any 3D printed turner attachments though. The heat shouldn't make your tumbler sticky, are you sure that the epoxy mixture was correct? Maybe try doing it on the low heat setting and don't let the air blow directly onto your tumbler, just let it heat up the box.
@@KristisCustomCreations weird right?? I did have it on low and pointed away from my tumbler so I think it was just the heat in the box over time. Maybe I need it to be a bit more open. But I have seen people crated amazing heat boxes for their tumbler turners that are completely closed up so idk. Also, when I found this had happened it was about 1.5 hours into it being heated and I had been checking it about every 15-20 minutes. When I stopped it and let the cup sit out like I normally do for curing, it dried fine and wasn't sticky so I don't know why I had the sticky issue with heat. I'm going to try again with some adjustments at some point and see how it goes before I give up on this trick. Thanks for responding and doing your videos. I love your creative results!!
@K M I tilted my box a bit more and it has been fine. It did still soften some parts of my pvc since the weather has gotten warmer in TX, but it didn't completely melt and bend the pvc like the first time.
Do you think this would work for other resin items not so much for dryer faster but keeping the temp regulated?
Yes ma'am, it should work just fine with other items đ
Iâm new to this tumbler making business lol and I live in GA where it can get super sold. I was worried about my epoxy drying, so once they are dry and I take them out of the heat box do you think the cold would affect them in any way? Or is it best to take them in the house once dry?
I would personally bring them in the house when it's dry because most epoxies aren't supposed to be subjected to super cold
Okay I live in Michigan and use my garage for Epoxy for safety reasons. Garage is not heated thoughts on this working in winter?? đŹ I will have a small space heater to keep me warm on top of this LOL and they will not be unattended
It should work very well for you in the winter. I am in Florida so my winters aren't anywhere near as cold but I have seen where numerous people who live up north do this regularly.
While using hole saw on plastic use the drill in reverse
Can you tell me what settings you use on the second heater? I have one just like the second heater!
I set the second heater on high for about 2 hours. I keep a close eye on it while it runs since it doesn't have a shut off.
What temperature does it get?
I live in Colorado and it is cold nowđ. Do you think I could use the box in my garage where it is cold? Nervous to epoxy indoors. Great video. Thanks
Yes! I don't think you would have any problems using the heat box in your garage to help your tumblers cure in this cold weather. đ„°

No problem! I always try to respond quickly! Please let me know if you have any other questions. đ
And Happy New Year!
Wonderful invention. I only have one turner. But I see the concept. Should be too hard to figure outđđđ€Ł
You can do it with one Turner too đđ„°
Would this work if I built a wooden box to go around my 6 cup turner and then attached the heater on the side of that wooden box? or does it have to be plastic?
Yes, a wooden box would work. That's a great idea! Basically it can needs to be something that can contain some of the heat from the heater to keep the cups warm. You just want areas in the box where the great can escape because you don't want it getting too hot.
Thanks for the tutorial. I found the heater on Amazon. Do you leave any room for ventilation or do you completely close it off when using the heater to cure the tumblers?
The whole front side of the plastic tote (where the lid would go) is open for ventilation.
@@KristisCustomCreations if I were to lay the box face down, would I need to ventilate it? Iâm doing more thick projects and thinking of ways to heat the up easier and like this idea⊠but now sure if it would work
@@TheRecoveringButterfly1 I have seen where some people completely enclose their greater boxes but I personally feel like they need ventilation. If you are trying to do molds in them, I would be cautious of that because the epoxy if poured too deep can get extremely hot during the curing process.
Great Idea! Can I get the names of the blower you recommend? Would like to purchase.

Where can I find a heated fan with a attachable hose? Iâve looked on eBay Amazon. Walmart cannot find it. Can you help me out
I recorded this video a couple years ago and I don't think that heater is available anymore. You can get a regular space heater and modify the side of the tub to go around the space heater without having to cuddle perfect circular hole. Just basically cut an area slightly larger than your space heater
Hi. I am a complete newbie. Can you please tell me if after an hour or so in container can you bring inside (as I live in a cold climate and will be working in garage) to keep cups warm or do they need to stay well ventilated? How long to keep well ventilated? đ€
Thanks so much for your help đ„°
Be sure to wear a respirator when working with epoxy and try to ventilate the garage if possible. I would let it stay in the container until it's dry to the touch. Technically, the epoxy is no longer considered toxic after 72 hours.
And welcome to the world of tumblers.. it's very addicting! đ„°đ
@@KristisCustomCreations thanks so much it's just garage is to cold so if I seal under container to keep as much warmth in there is no ventilation for cups is that ok?
How many can you dry at a time?

One more stupid question, does this cut the "72 hour" cure time down"
Not a stupid question at all! The cure time is still 72 hours
does the heater cut off once it gets so hot? mine does and then it won't cut back on till it cools down which is messing up my cups
No, this one does not.. it stays on until I shut it off or for when the timer turns it off.
Will this work for epoxy ashtray etc ? I have started a small business and itâs my first time working epoxy but some reason my ashtray arenât curing all the way because itâs cold now
Yes, it should help keep your molds warm enough to properly cure.
So I made the box, and I have the top part âopen sideâ facing down on my table. Almost no heat escapes. Iâm so worried that I might burn a damn hole through the box. I have it on the low heat. Will it be okay or should I open it a little
If you feel like it's too hot in there, just open it a little bit to let it vent đ
Iâm new to this and having an issue with the epoxy being sticky. Iâve tried adding new layers of epoxy over the sticky layer, with drying 6-12-24 hours on a spinner between layers and making sure my measuring resin/hardener is precise. Any suggestions??
Yes, if your Epoxy is staying sticky then it's not going to help by putting more epoxy over it. Your cup will remain toxic from the toxins in epoxy because it won't ever properly cure and the epoxy underneath can actually Leach up through the other epoxy layers that you have put down. My suggestion would be to strip the cup and start over. You don't want to risk anyone getting sick or the cup never hardening like it's supposed to. One coat of epoxy that isn't mixed properly or measured properly can ruin the whole cup. What kind of epoxy are you using?
@@KristisCustomCreations Iâm actually trying to make some glitter pens for graduation gifts, using envirotex from hobby lobby. I just watched your video on tumblerpoxy and was impressed with how impressed you were lol. So actually think Iâm going to order that. Hopefully it gets here in time to redo these pens đ€
Will this work for epoxy silicone molds? Can I get the link or name of the space heater, I canât find it. Thank you!!!!
I haven't put any silicone molds in it because I didn't want the mold getting too hot. Here's the link to the space heater that I use.. amzn.to/3o5nJi0
I clicked on the link for the new heat box with the heater and hose. It says the link can't be found. I really need that heater, could you please let me know the name of the heater.
The heater actually isn't available unfortunately... I created this video about 3 years or so ago. I guess they have stopped manufacturing it. You can create one with a regular space heater, just cut an area big enough so the space heater doesn't blow directly on the plastic tote
What size is the tote please
Having a heater blow like that in the tote, does it not blow dust particles on the cups? I'm having the hardest time with keeping my tumblers dust or lent free. Help me!đČđą
Hey there! I don't have any problems with dust when I use the heater and storage tote. Have you tried just putting a storage tote over your cups as they spin without the heater? That should completely prevent any dust particles in your cups if they are getting in through the air. Also, I don't vacuum, run a fan, or do anything like that while my cups are spinning just to prevent kicking up any kind of dust.
I live where it's been in the teens-low 20s lately. I'm just starting out but I'm wondering since I only have 1 turner if you thought I could just put the turner and heater both under a tote completely. I have a 3 car garage which is where I have to epoxy. Thanks :)
Hey there! If you put both under there you need to make sure it doesn't get too hot.. you don't want to start a fire or melt anything. There are smaller space heaters that I have seen people put inside like that but they don't put off quite as much heat so it was safer. đ
@@KristisCustomCreations, do you happen to know which ones they use? Also, would it be best if I drill some vent holes in the tote? This is the heater I have. Thanks so much!

I am knew to this. I am wanting to make the swirl tumblers with alcohol ink. Will it hurt the curing if I let it turn for a while and then put it under the heat box? It's a lol chilly where I will be doing my tumblers about 60 degrees.
If you are doing an alcohol ink swirl then you will want to let the epoxy harden some before putting it in a drying box because it may cause the inks to swirl more than you would like if you put it in the drying box too early.

How long have you used the heater with hose? Only asking because it has a handful of negative reviews!
I've only had it a few weeks and have used it numerous times. I didn't read the reviews before I purchased it (which I usually do) but it hasn't given me any issues at all.
I am having problems with gnats will a heat box help?
Yes, putting a tupperware or Rubbermaid container over your cups while they spin will help a lot with all kinds of bugs. You don't necessarily have to use the heat along with it, just something to cover them helps.
I thought this didnt cure them properly? Im nervous about a fire or something. Have you had any issues at all with your tote melting or cups not curing properly

By heat spots do you mean fisheyes in the epoxy?

I put it on the high setting and it comes on stays in for a min or two then shuts off( stoos blowing doesnt turn off off ) for abfew seconds then comes on again

So I looked on Amazon for heater with hose and the price is 185.00đłso I ordered your other heater. Fingers crossed
Holy smokes! They have definitely gone up in the price and that is ridiculous! The other heater will work just fine for you. Thank you for watching!
Do you run yours on low or high? I have 3 going in my heat box based on this and 1 has dimpling going on, not sure if I should be running it on low or hi , its on high right now
I run mine on high but if you are having dimpling then try running it on low
@@KristisCustomCreations thank you. It ended up not being too bad but I think I had the hose in too close to the cup. I appreciate your help and love your creations!
