Yo, keep on the good work. Also, I do think the word may end up in what was described in Brave new world. Especially when we are more and more tending to prefer the easy and happy way out.
Aldous Huxley truly means a lot to me, despite having died before my father was even born. He has helped make so much sense of both the world, my surroundings and me on a frequency I feel like no person I know in real life matches, he resonates to me on this level never seen before. What I just do not understand is how Huxley (according to google trends) is becoming less and less popular, despite being ahead of even most people of our time. I really hope more people will find out about the man and read his works, because his genuity extends way beyond that of Brave New World: think about the books he mentioned here (Perennial philosophy, Island, Brave New World revisited) but also 'Ends and Means; and 'Heaven and Hell' (not to be confused with the 'between heaven & hell). There's just so much to learn from this guy, and if I had a single wish it would be seeing his reaction to the modern world and hearing his take on it. I think even he would be astonished at just how accurate his claims have really become, throughout reading the biggest works of his, I've only stumbled upon a single thing that didn't come out to be true, and it was so minor I don't even remember what it was.

I can’t believe he’s so underrated in comparison to Orwell.
Island is an amazing book. There is a great audio version on youtube. Very long but very much worth reading. Another of Huxley's greats is Ape and Essence
I read the entirety of The Doors of Perception while sleep-deprived on the train, Heaven and Hell as well. It's a truly unique book, I haven't read anything like it before or since. One fascinating idea Huxley brings up in the book is what he calls 'the mind at large', comparing 'the mind at large' to a sort of foreign land accessible via psychedelics. It creates an interesting distinction between what the brain is capable of in general as opposed to its normal, survival oriented functioning. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in psychedelics, the nature of consciousness, and fans of art as well (he makes some interesting observations relating art and the perception of artists to the psychedelic potential of the brain)
Sgt. Pepper’s also has represented Simon Rodia, the Italian steel worker who single handedly built The Watts Towers and has been compared to Gaudi. He built the towers on the property that his house sat on, and after completing the work gave the keys to his neighbor and disappeared. The City of Los Angeles eventually received the towers, and concerned they were a public risk attempted to tear them down. But they proved too strong to easily demolish. The towers are today in the middle of the Hood® of South Central LA. Since Rodia was single, he could be said to deserve to be on the album cover more than Huxley, who was married…
I'd find aspects of Huxley's ideology somewhat reminiscent of Ted Kaczynski's views of modern industrial-technological society. A video on the unabomber would be pretty darn interesting imo.
I need to get around to reading Huxley's works. I myself used to be a psychonaut and thus find that I relate to fellow trippers fairly well. Tripping to find oneself is in my opinion the best way to use psychedelics. I will say though that different substances have different effects. On acid your brain suddenly thinks in ways you never thought possible and you have a nice light show. On shrooms it feels as if you transcend your body and the visuals are more aurora esque, I've also only experienced ego death on mushrooms. Though on retrospect lsd can have that transcendent feeling as well because I always knew it kicked in when I felt as if my brain was taking a back seat, I've also experienced seeing things in third person a bunch on lsd. So I suppose the major difference is lsd is more of a buzzing feeling while shrooms are a rooted feeling.
I think that both are right. We live in a duality. To think these where the first two books among all those that came along...I absolutleyly spoiled myself but I was unaware.
Brave New World sounds prettyyyy familiar to ancient Roman poet Juvenal’s “Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt.” Definitely not a specifically new idea...
it's pretty ironic how Huxley and Orwell had opposing views on what leads us to destruction, yet they were both simultaneously right about it.

Since Rodia was single, he could be said to deserve to be on the album cover more than Huxley, who was married…
daaaamn postman, that shit the best thing I read since twilight tbh
I'd find aspects of Huxley's ideology somewhat reminiscent of Ted Kaczynski's views of modern industrial-technological society. A video on the unabomber would be pretty darn interesting imo.
One of the reasons why Ted did it was his brain was fried from the Harvard LSD studies as well
I'm just saying, people be taking LSD and then they Get It (tm)
Great video 🙂🙂 Terrence McKenna next please
This seems very very relevant right now
I need to get around to reading Huxley's works.
I am starting The Doors of perception now and will eventually slide through Perennial philosophy and Brave new world
Great channel
the ending makes this video feel like a shaggy dog story
it seems like someone has been reading Pollan's book
Great video, a jordan peterson video would be cool
If you rearrange Huxley’s birth year from 1894 it becomes *1984*
haha Im currently reading Neil Postman's "Amusing Ourselves to Death", I recognized that orwell quote from it
I love your videos
I think that both are right. We live in a duality.
To think these where the first two books among all those that came along...I absolutleyly spoiled myself but I was unaware.
Like 2 sides of the same coin.
Can you create a Playlist with all your videos in one so I can binge on it without clicking each video
Damn that perennial philosophy shit hit hard
Brave New World sounds prettyyyy familiar to ancient Roman poet Juvenal’s “Give them bread and circuses and they will never revolt.” Definitely not a specifically new idea...
