This is the best song I've heard in my life. Sledge has soul, love, passion. He moves his hips so beautifully. He's the greatest singer.
Percy sung with his heart and soul into his music. He used to come to local clubs in Morgan City, La where he met his wife Rosa, while in town playing at the Naughty Night club. There was so many times he'd have tears pouring down, and get down on his knees as he'd sing to his sweet Rosa. He gave 150% of his heart and soul into every song. He was such a great guy. Rest easy old friend

i saw Percy Sledge sing this song in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) in the early Seventies. He's gone now and so are those who were with me. So sad.
