I’m a 73 year old great grandmother who listens every day to oldies from 70s-80s, a bit of 90s and few country artists which motivates me while doing housework, yard work, gardening, walking, etc. Music is therapeutic for physical and emotional regeneration. I have 2500 songs on my playlist which plays from 9AM until 6PM everyday on BT speakers in the house, garage or craft room, NEVER…get tired of hearing them.
Can I just say, hi impressed I am with how active you are-you remind me of my mom who is 90 and cannot stop doing. Mom always says she keeps doing as much as she can so she can keep doing, and it’s the best advice she’s ever given me.
I showed tom petty about five times in concert No lasers No smoke machines No crazy light effects Just him and the heartbreakers And then two hours of awesome rock and roll R I p tom
I had the great opportunity to met and work Tom during his tour in the summer of 1995. He was a very humble and kind man with a great sense of humor. He loved Elvis and during this tour he hired Elvis impersonators to be his bodyguard in each city of the tour. I just was confused by this. There were several of us trying to figure out just what was going on. I was the only one who had the nerve to sit and talk with him. He explained to me that he had repeatedly dreamt that Elvis was his personal bodyguard. So he thought what the heck, He’d just fulfill that dream and hire the impersonators. It was great, a lot of fun and great conversations. RIP Tom.
One of my favourite things about music is the way it can transform you back to a certain time in your life!! The momories, long forgotten, become so vivid and clear again!! There's nothing like it!!
My husband and I were at Hyde Park, London in July 2017 watching Tom Petty, Blondie and Stevie Nicks live. He passed away 3 month later it was a spectacular gig.
I have all of Tom's music in a collection. I miss knowing he was in the world. I dont understand why people think it's selfish to go your life alone. I did it and had some of the most amazing experiences that I am so grateful for. People, places and life.
Tom Petty was one of the greatest musicians of all time 🤘😂 Also the Travelling Wilburys are unbeatable ... it's just great Music Best wishes to everbody Greetings from Germany 🤘😜🇩🇪
Reseda is a city in "the" San Fernando Valley. Saw Tom in the 90s and what i loved most was nothing flashy about it, just him doing his music. He was fantastic. So glad to hear you do this.
I love this song because of the concentration on Los Angeles, where I’ve lived all of my life. I love the video where you can actually see all the various areas. The shots of Tom Petty in a mall were shot at the Westside Pavilion in West Los Angeles, which is unfortunately, no longer there. It also concentrates heavily on the San Fernando Valley, which is the northern end of what is considered the city of Los Angeles. People who live here delineate heavily between “the City “and “the Valley.” Reseda is one little city within the area of the valley. Ventura Boulevard runs east and west all through the southernmost part of the Valley. The skateboard scenes were shot on or near Mulholland, which is at the top of the mountains, which separate the Valley from the city. You can see the entire basin of the valley behind the shots. Love this song. Loved Tom Petty. He lived in the Valley. RIP.
Tom Petty is one of my all time favorite artists, and this song is legendary. Had the chance to see Tom Petty but couldn't afford it at the time and assumed I'd have another 15-20 years to see him and then he passed. In a better place financially now and we've been to about a dozen concerts in the last 2 years with our teenager, making tons of memories. Life is short. Buy the tickets.
I took my son skydiving for his 18th birthday. We paid for a video of his jump. This was the song he chose to include in the video. I remember that day every time I hear this song!
The lyrics to this song started off as Tom Petty and a friend joking back and fourth with "wholesome" lines. The Professor of Rock did a video about this.
I got to see Tom Petty live in Nashville, and it was a heck of a concert. Dude wrote some of the most relatable songs, and performed them with powerful artistry. The man is a legend.
LOVE Tom, great track, he is sorely missed yet his music lives on. Thanks for playing 💜 oh and everyone should sow a few wild oats when young! Can we now have some Travelling Willberry’s - please 🙏
I LOVE Tom Petty and wanted to be Mrs. Petty! I was 13 when I sent his band a letter of appreciation to their fan mail and they sent me a nice letter and a Heartbreaker necklace..I still have it. I saw them live in Las Cruces New Mexico in 1991 and it was one of my all time fav concerts ever!!! Thank you BP! I love all of their tunes and have so many favorites but I really love "Runnin' Down a Dream" and "Even the Losers" and "You Got Lucky" and "Refugee" and the list just goes on and on.. "Magnolia" is another favorite and and and...
1st reactions are great but I love the revisits too! It gives us the opportunity to see you find things you missed before or means something different now that it’s been a while! This was great! Thanks BP! ❤️🔥✌🏻
M6 favorite reactions are when you really jam out and I see the absolute joy on your face! Thank you for these beautiful reactions. And for sharing original content and your new beautiful baby girl. Love your channel. ❤ Don's even starting to grown on me. Like a fungus...lmao. No seriously..love you guys!
Love Tom Petty. Love the fact he performed with Roy Orbison and George Harrison, amongst other artists. Just goes to show no vanity. There is truth in his vocals.
I love Tom Petty! The first album I ever bought (on vinyl) was in 1977 Damn the Torpedoes, still have it! Great album. Saw the Heartbreakers a few times in concert in San Francisco. Saw a great unplugged show at a small club in the city.
You should react to Stan Rogers he is one of the most unique canadian singer/songwriters, (If you do, I highly reccomend The Mary Ellen Carter, and Northwest Passage) Also, Given what you've said about your life and missing touring, I think you'd really resonate to/with Lock Keeper, and the story/his reasoning/feeling behind it
Dude it's time to stick your head down the TP & The Heartbreakers rabbit hole to see what else you can find! Lots of great suggestions here and my favs include Running Down a Dream, American Girl, All or Nothing, I Won't Back Down, Into The Great Wide Open, Breakdown, oh hell the whole damn catalog is great!
Jeff Lynne was at Tom Petty's house. They were just sitting in the backyard with a couple of acoustic guitars noodling around. Jeff asks Tom if he is working on anything and Tom says I got this riff and played it. Jeff said that's nice, got any words? "She's a good girl, Loves her Mama"' loves Jesus and America too.' Wrote it that day just messing around in the yard.
I lived in Reseda for a few years in the early 90s. Just drove home tonight on the 101 past all the reference in the song... I too, find it to be pretty special 🤘🤘
One of my little brothers is kind of one of those people who are too nice to live on earth with the rest of us, mensa smart, socially not great but great dad, great guy, he's always listening to Tom Petty. I'll shoot him a link to Tom Petty's King's Highway every once in a while to get him to call me back.
Not sure if you know or not but 5 legends came together, including Tom Petty, in 1988 and formed "The Traveling Wilburys". After their first hit, the late great Roy Orbison passed away but they still recorded the song and a video with his guitar in his chair. That song is "Well It's Alright". Their biggest hit was "Handle With Care". Please check out this band and react to one of their songs. You'll be surprised how 5 legends came together and sang so well.
The song is very much the vibe of the San Fernando Valley too. He got that well. I used to live in the Valley, but went on to Huntington Beach and then the Inland Empire.
Many years ago when my baby sister was 3 or 4 we went to pick family up at the Burbank airport (back in the olden days when you could meet at the gate); Tom Petty got off the plane and accidentally knocked her over with his guitar case, and very politely picked her up and apologized. We all thought it was pretty damn cool 😂
Honesty is more important that whether it is a first time listen or not. Saw Tom at Starwood outside Nashville TN. Probable one of the many free shows we went to see. My ex-wife was a local DJ and her station traded commercials for tickets to mostly give away. Saw several I might now have seen otherwise. Steve WI wood, Ray Charles, Durance Durance and more.
Could be having the worst of days and hear a Tom Petty tune come on and the mood instantly changes
The should really be a heart button. ❤
Ain’t nobody cooler than Tom Petty. We miss you terribly but thank you for leaving magical music with us RIP❤
Mr. Tom Petty was the coolest! RIP TP❤

I'm 73 also and know exactly where you're comin' from. Keep the tunes going.

This was such a huge hit when it came out.. Tom Petty was a master of the lyrics. He had his own sound...
Co-written, and co-produced by Tom's "Wilbury brother," and ELO front man Jeff Lynne ❤

I'm not even American, but it is one of the top 10 best songs ever produced.

I love that you sometimes go back, revist the gems and appreciate them in the context of that era and now.
This is my favorite Tom Petty song. I saw him in concert in the 90s. He put on a great show.
I love "Refugee"!! Tom Petty has a lot of good songs!! 🔥❤ Oh, I see Rick Springfield up there!! Love his song Jessie's Girl!!
Funny thing about Tom, he talks so deep with his southern drawl. Yet sings so hi! RIP TP

Tom Petty - You Got Lucky - Don't Do Me Like That - Don't Come Around Here No More - Jammin Me
Tom petty was a huge Elvis Presley fan. He did meet Elvis, I think when he was 11 or 12 years old. I love both Elvis and Tom petty. RIP 🙏🏾❤
I consider myself a pretty tough guy, but I almost lost a tear when Tom passed, RIP

Oh what a fantastic choice to just remind you of life and beauty on a Friday, thanks for sharing 💜

And that is one epically beautiful young lady. Man, I miss the '80's.
We played this song on the way to the Drop Zone for a day of skydiving. Love it!!

Jeff Lynn of ELO and Tom Petty co-wrote this classic!!
